Sneak Peek: Natasha Denona Sunset Palette Photos & Swatches
Natasha Denona Sunset Eyeshadow Palette ($129.00 for 1.20 oz.) includes 15 eyeshadows in various shades of warm-toned hues with matte, shimmer, and sparkly finishes. The palette seemed to sell through very quickly when it initially launched earlier this week. I know retailers are attempting to get more product, and I hope that the Natasha Denona brand uses this as an opportunity to listen to their customers and commit to making more. While I will review the palette in full, I went ahead and already add all of the dupes for each shade in the palette, so if there was one you had your eye on, check The Dupe List! 🙂 You can also view all the dupes for shades in the palette here.

This price point, while still ridiculous (regardless of the “but you get so much per pot” excuse) is doable. This looks like a very every day palette for any season. I’ll wait for your full review and if it holds up well I may actually bite the bullet and get it. It’s really cute.
To me, this had an ABH ModRen vibe but in fact there are very few close dupes. I’m interested — I could use almost all shades, almost all days — but really pricey for my budget. I need to think about it, and hear about your and others’ experiences.
Seeing these swatches, it’s not as unique as I thought it was. I’ll definitely need to pick up dupes for Pinjin and Sol, but outside of those I have most of the other shades. It’s still a gorgeous palette though. If I had the extra money to blow I’d definitely pick it up. This is right up my alley. I love warm toned looks so I’d get lots of use out of this.
Everyone’s going crazy over this palette!
It really looks beautiful and I like all of the colors for daily wear.
Might treat myself one of these days 😉
Pretty, but too orange-y and way too pricey for me. Gorgeous look you made!
Waaaay too pricey for me. I’ll check out the dupes for Morgana and Aubade – the shades that caught my eye.
Terrific that you gave us the dupes with the sneak peek! Loving it. It helps, not only with the in-stash, but also with palette planning. E.g. If you plan to get Viseart X and the colors are duped here, maybe you don’t need this one. It’s deja vu and prevu all in one! No surprise, think I’m in on the Zoeva warm mattes. Haven’t seen the ND shimmers in person, and they look rather Hudaesque to me. (OTT for an older face like mine). But, not surprised this one is a sellout. Most swatch well, it hits the current color vibe, without duping recent major palettes in a big way. Good job, CM and ND.
I just received the Sunset Palette today. The colors are stunning, phenomenal pigmentation and very little fallout from the duo-chromes and shimmers, unlike the Star Palette. She has improved her mattes even more. They are super smooth, just wonderful to mix and blend. The only color I don’t like is Sol, the dirty yellow. I wish it were a little deeper. Other than that, I am very happy with this palette.
Sometimes I just have to do the math. The price seems steep, and it is an outlay all at once for sure.
I’m comparing to UD, which I like. Individual UD shadows are filled at 0.05 oz. If you were to buy 15 of them as in this palette, it would be .75 ounces, which is less than the 1.20 oz listed here. UD would be 15 x $19/each = $285
This ND palette for more product is $8.65 for each shadow, which is MUG territory. The math for Viseart also works out well for amount of product/cost per shadow. It was sticker shock at first until I dove a little deeper.
The UD Palettes like the 12-shadow basics, offer a total of 0.48 total ounces, FWIW.
I don’t even want this selection of colors, but sometimes I like to pick a brand to calculate against and compare. 🙂
But will you ever hit pan? I have so many I feel like I hit pan once in 2-3 years but that doesnt mean i even finish it. Its too much upfront, for me at least, no matter how much math I do.
Many ways to slice the baloney in making a decision, that’s for sure!
The only unique color I see here is Morgana. I’m pretty sure lots of us have already all the colors in this palette. It’s nice to have all these oranges all together, and the palette is beautiful to be seen, but I find it quite boring. I don’t see a new trend coming from this one and actually i feel is quite late to propose a high end version of the Morphe 35O
WOW….too bad I didn’t restrain myself with buying so many other like-themed palettes and singles, but I didn’t see this one coming. This palette is a better red/orange/warm neutral palette than anything else I’ve seen or bought! Not that I totally regret my recent hoarding of these shades into my stash, but perhaps this could be a learning moment for my impulsive streak, no? ?
Between ABH Modern Renaissance, Kylie Burgundy Kit, Huda Shadow kit, Lorac Unzipped, and a bunch of CP singles, I probably have 90% of these shades covered, but it’s still such a stunning palette!! She should’ve launched this one earlier, but I’m glad to see her shadow formula has improved, so will keep an eye out for other palettes
What a gorgeous palette! Your 1st eye look looks like a sunset 🙂
I think these shades would look especially beautiful on WOC.
These aren’t my type of colors but I bet it will sell well!
Regardless of pan size and quality there’s no way I can justify spending $129 for eyeshadow palette. Girls got to draw the line somewhere. Lol
Pretty much my feeling to, Brenda. I wonder where some of these companies are going to stop (and maybe they just will keep pushing the limits upward). It’s funny that I will spend upwards of $60 for a Chanel quad but to spend well over $100 (this one is $166 in Canada) on a palette is something I also can’t justify.
I’m guilty of it too! I didn’t bat an eye when I spent 80+ on Hourglass face palette.
Panjin, igneous, and Morgana are my faves! So beautiful!!!!
I really like these colors but that price is too too much. 🙁 There are so many other similar palettes thoug.
A summery palette of seemingly good quality shadows. The swatches look really good, there doesn’t seem to be any genuine duds here. But it is still very expensive. This palette reminds me of the Sleek Sunset palette from a few years ago. These are not my kind of shades, but I think it will be a winner.
Wow, what stunning sunset colors!! The palette is well named, and the swatches look much better quality and consistency than past palettes. Wish it wasn’t so pricey, but maybe there will be deals/sales/promos/cash back
These are so not my colours and the price tag on the ND palettes generally is simply way out of my “zone”. Christine, what’s with the piece of Scotch tape? Is it holding the mirror in place or just to help you not lose the cello piece with the product names? (if it’s the former, that’s pretty crummy for a product at this price; if it’s the latter – well, I HATE, HATE, HATE when the names aren’t printed ON the palette).
The clear sheet is attached to the palette’s “spine,” and it wouldn’t stay with the lid, so it would flop halfway over the products! I wish I had used a smaller piece of tape, LOL.
I just can’t justify the price. Maybe if it had few cooler tones….to make it an ULTIMATE palette, maybe then.
Gorgeous palette, and I love that addition of the vivid yellow, but pointless for me when I already own Modern Renaissance and several warm/orange palettes.
PSA for all the Canadians out there – it seems as if Sephora is restocking this palette around 1:00 – 2:00 am MST. Someone on Twitter mentioned that they got a palette around 2:00 am and I just happened to be out late tonight and checked at 1:40 MST and lo and behold it was in stock!
