Sneak Peek: NARS Spring 2017 Collection Photos & Swatches

NARS Spring 2017 Collection
NARS Spring 2017 Collection

Here’s a look at swatches of the upcoming NARS Wildfire Collection, which is the brand’s spring color collection. I don’t have a specific launch date, but normally, it’s two weeks from when I can post about it so I’d say around mid-January is likely! When I have an official date, I’ll post the full launch details.

Sometimes in their duos, Nars puts together the oddest pairings…and they work (I’m thinking of Nouveau Monde and Habanera as 2 that I have that seem like strange pairings but they work well). Chiang Mai is that sort of duo. It puts me in mind a bit of China Seas. In the pan, Thessalonique reminds me a lot of another Nars duo I already have – Tokyo. It’s one I rarely use because it’s nice but bland.

Interesting collection. Not as “rule-breaking” as Chanel but grabs me nonetheless. I’m loving the way that Usbek seems to have a really unique complexity to it. I’m also drawn to both of the duo eyeshadows. Traditionally I haven’t been a big NARS fan, although I’ve bought some stellar items from them over the past year, but this collection may be one I buy the most from to date. I hear that it’s hitting Sephora first sometime this month; any idea what day Christine?

They didn’t provide any release dates, unfortunately! I sent an email in a week ago, but I imagine with the holidays, most people are out so I haven’t heard back yet. Usually NARS’ releases about 2 weeks after I get the collection (or can post about it, which was embargoed until today).

I’m itching to swatch Usbek myself.
I’ve been waiting a long time for a good true purple. I want the search to end, already!

Asphalt Jungle Lip Gloss looks really good! I will definitely be picking this up. I just checked the NARS website and the collection is available for purchase there.

Looking forward to your review. Happy New Year!

Usbek is gorgeous. When I first looked at the eye shadow duo, Thessalonique, I thought it was a highlight duo. Hope these score well because if they do I am getting Usbek for sure.

OMG, I said no more lippies but Asphalt Jungle is stunning! Also like the blue in Chang Mai. The shadow sticks look like they need to be layered to get opaque but the colors are pretty. I like the unusual color combos for spring

Asphalt Jungle will be mine. I wish Thessalonique was swatching better because I love the colors. I love the shadow sticks too, but they look pretty close to the LM Caviar Sticks, so I might pass them up. Usbek is gorgeous though.

Happy New Year with good health and happiness! Pity because we don’t have Nars in Greece, Thessalonique is the second-largest city in Greece.

I’m loving Asphalt Jungle too. I’m interested in Grand Large Velvet Shadow Stick
too. Lately, I’ve been applying shadow sticks with a liner brush to lower lash line.
It lasts all day for me, longer than my usual pencils.

I’m not a lip gloss person at all, I have probably 100 lipsticks and exactly two lipglosses. But Asphalt Jungle is about to bring that number up to 3.
I think my mind is rebelling against all the matte liquid lipsticks I bought this last year.

Nars must be a winter guy for me. The lipsticks and blush are not me at all…thank god. Yeah, I know I say ATT that I never met a nars blush I didn’t like, but…. The eyesticks look improved overall. Usbek is beyond decent. Don’t think I have any new formula gloss, but asphalt jungle is tempting. Will have to swatch thessalonique; the lighter shade is iffy. Mariella is right. Pairings and often entire groupings will seem non-cohesive, but usually pull together well. That purple and yellow duo might have seemed like 2/3 of a Mardi Gras, but it worked.

I’m hoping that Usbek will perform well on eyelids! NARS Eye Paints are wonderful, but their other cream shadow sticks haven’t been…

Bumpy Ride is really pretty, but might be too warm for my cheeks. Thessalonique might be really pretty on my eyelids. I don’t think any of the lip colors will work for me. Looking forward to your reviews, Christine!

I’m not usually a Nars fan, but there is a lot to like here. I like Belle Ile, Siros (might be too similar to Laura Mercier caviar sticks though) and Aragon lipgloss (great opacity and color) but most especially Usbek and Asphalt Jungle lipgloss – those are special.

The shadows look great. The blush doesn’t look as good on the skin in the swatch as I thought it would. I like Usbek quite a bit but it might be too bright for me perhaps. One of those glosses looks like a more sophisticated version of Revlon HD Rose Quartz so I probably don’t need it but it still looks nice. The lipsticks aren’t something I’d wear in either case.
