NARS Panic Dual-Intensity Blush ($45.00 for 0.21 oz.) will release on March 4th at Sephora/NARS and then at other retailers on April 1st. There are six duos in the Dual-Intensity formula, so they’re a wet and dry formulation. Here are some sneak peek swatches to mull over why I work my way through testing them 🙂

Damn it, Nars! I have enough makeup! But these are sooo pretty.
Christine, I know you’re still testing them but can you say if you like them? I wonder how all that sparkle looks on skin that isn’t 15 years old.

Christine Avatar

I’ve had them for two hours – I’ve worked as quickly as I could to get photos + swatches posted. I haven’t even applied any to my face! I put sneak peeks up, because that way I can share swatches sooner rather than later while giving myself real time to process and test them 🙂

Allison Avatar

Yeah… we’re gonna need you to work overtime to get those cheek tests and swatches out. 😀 You amaze me at how much product you test, swatch, and slap up onto your blog! You are really an inspiration to an aspiring blogger, Christine! Thanks for all you do!!

sana Avatar

hey chrisitne !! i love ur blog . i always think tht what u do with all this makeup .. u get the whole lines of brands .. goshh .. please let me know do u hold a blog sale for international ppl

tugce Avatar

I wish the left side of Frenzy were a bit softer. I am afraid this will be a glitter bomb on my face.

Also I am eagerly waiting for you to list dupes for the right shade in Jubilation. That one has the amount of sparkle I can sport on my cheeks.

xamyx Avatar

The bad news is, of 3 I was interested in, I only like one… On the upside, I only like one, LOL! Money saved.

This seems geared toward warmer, tanner/deeper complexions…

Mariella Avatar

The right side of Adoration is gorgeous to my eye but I don’t need the glittery nightmare that is the left side. And I’m surprised that I like BOTH sides of Panic (and I like the name too) – I would have thought the right side would be way too orange but both sides look fabulous. I question the “2 blushes in one package” idea – I like to choose for myself rather than have the pairing done for me with something like blush.

Nichole Avatar

Panic will be mine. I also like Jubilation, but as a highlighter or possibly an eye shadow. I do think Nars is crossing the wet/dry line when it comes to blush. Using a product wet to apply blush is too much.

nelleshoegirl Avatar

I don’t know. I’m not that excited. I can’t imagine wanting that much sparkle on my cheeks. I can’t say I would ever apply blush wet – usually you do that to get intense pigment and better control the application. I think it would just look like clown cheeks. But, I’ve seen a ridiculous amount of hype and enthusiasm on Instagram, so maybe they will sell well. (Then again, people were hyped up about the Hourglass Modernist eyeshadow palettes until they found out they didn’t really perform well.)

Jessica T Avatar

I was tempted by a couple at first glance, but they are much more sparkly than I thought…which is a good thing for me since these are pricey and I’m not as drawn to the sparkle in these. Can’t wait to see how they look on you. Thanks for the sneak peak!

Lee Avatar

They look beautiful but the watercolour effect? I don’t see it at all given the pigmentation, I’d be afraid of looking like a clown. Can’t wait for the reviews!

Al Avatar

Thank you! I was starting to think I was the only one who noticed this. The press release kept touting the wet application as ‘a translucent wash of color’ while the dry was ‘a bold flush’. At the time, I couldn’t understand how that was possible when wetting powder formulas typically results in MORE intense pigmentation. Seeing the sneak-peek swatches has only confirmed this for me.

That being said, they’re lovely blushes, but I think the wet application is unnecessary when the pigmentation is rather intense either way.

JBoogie Avatar

Ohhhh snap. I can’t wait to hear if these look and perform as lovely as they swatch. A little sparkly for me, but soooooo pretty. Thanks, Christine, for your swift work!

Veronica Avatar

They all look so warm, save for one or two. 🙁 Ah well, they swatch beautifully at least. I tend to avoid high shine blushes like these, but I can imagine some people will really love these.

miekogirlie99 Avatar

wow…they look so shiny! I can’t wait to see what it looks like applied to the cheeks. I’m worried I’ll look like a disco ball LOL but Fervor,m adoration & frenzy look interesting!

Genevieve Avatar

Love the colours and the swatches seem to show how beautiful the products are. But I would be a bit confused to work out which duo would work the best on me. Some of the shades look like highlighters and others blushes/bronzers.
I love Adoration – left side, Frenzy and Jubilation. I don’t think I would apply them wet.

Bronwyn Avatar

Panic or adoration decisions decisions…
I’m wondering if the fuschia and hot pink will be dupes for burberry’s bright pink blushes. Can’t wait to find out 🙂

Aditi Avatar

Frenzy, Panic and Adoration are gorgeous! I’m curious about these; the shimmer looks like it might not be very pore-friendly. Looking forward to your review of these, Christine!

Nicole Avatar

This is not promising for my bank account If these are formulated smooth enough, which I could see as a challenge. But Nars mastered it with the shadows,so it may very well be a possibility that they got it down here. My wallet is scared! My heart is thumping ..glowy cheeks..right on cue with Nars summer! Looking forward to your thoughts Christine!

Bonnie Rieger Avatar

Some of the colors are pretty, but looks like there’s too much shimmer for my 40-something face.
I also don’t see the need for wet/dry blush, though I look forward to your review.

Mikhaela Avatar

Looking forward to hearing your reviews on these- most of these colors don’t seem wearable as a blush. I can’t wait to see how they translate on skin! Thanks for getting swatches up so soon, Christine.

Jules Avatar

Puzzled by these. Some of the colors are quite nice individually, but in the combinations they’re put into, they just don’t look like they’ll work. I feel like you could use one of the colors from Panic, but not both – it would have made more sense to have one intense shade and one highlighter shade instead of two very saturated and strong pink-reds. Likewise, Jubilation looks like a pair of highlighters, not really “blushes,” because they’re so strongly yellow – no peach, pink, or berry tones at all. Jubilation is just so purely golden that I can’t imagine a skin tone on which that would look like anything other than jaundice. Even in the pairs which look like they could be used as a contour shade and a highlighter, the pairings just seem strange, especially Fervor, like one or the other will look good on any particular skin tone but together they will clash horribly and just look clownlike!

Also, I’m not sure about wet powder blush…there’s not much room for error, is there?

Meg Avatar

no, I think it’s weird too. I don’t understand the concept of applying a blush wet…that’s what cream blushes are for…and considering that amount of shimmer and sparkle on these, I don’t think I want it to be intensified further by applying it wet. I’m going to pass on this since I was not even impressed by the Dual Intensity Eyeshadows.

Erin Avatar

Thank goodness someone else said it! I don’t get these at all. So shimmery and glittery. Dislike the color pairings. Color swatches do not seem overly unique. And how would applying a blush wet be any different than a cream blush? Everything about these seem gimmicky.

Lulle Avatar

Hmm I don’t know, there are some interesting shades here but many look very frosty. I’ll have to wait till I see your full reviews with face pics to get a better idea. I’m afraid they might emphasize pores – I really don’t need that these days!
I’m also scratching my head trying to figure out how I would apply a blush wet without destroying the foundation/powder coverage.

Quinctia Avatar

Jubilation and Craving are my kind of cheek products! (Yeah, I almost always reach for bronzer or highlighter before I touch blush. And I love gold.)

Rachel R. Avatar

These are even more stunning swatched then they look in the pan. And I thought they were gorgeous in the pan. Adoration, Fervor, and Panic … Wow!!! Jubilation probably wouldn’t look good on me, but it sure is pretty.

Like many of the others here, I’ve never tried applying blush with a damp brush. Interesting.

I’m glad they’re permanent. If I did want some of these pretties, they’re costly. They’d be birthday or Christmas splurges.

Jazz Avatar

So lovely. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will end up with 3 of these ( hopefully only one, because I dont really wear blush). BUT THEY ARE SO PRETTY. Im supposed to be doing a no- buy for the month of march. We shall see

Hannah Avatar

Christine, when you review these, can you note if on the package or any accompanying materials it notes if these are eye safe or not? I noticed them being used on the eyes in several fashion week runways shows. I’m not sure if I would use both sides of either of the combos on the cheeks, but if they can be used on the eyes as well then I would be interested! Thank you for all your hard work, as always!

Christine Avatar

I posted the entire press release, which is all the information I have, here: http://www.temptalia.com/nars-dual-intensity-blush-spring-2015

Nothing says it is eye-safe. Brands routinely use products that aren’t [insert body part here]-safe at NYFW from what I’ve seen, unfortunately!

Hannah Avatar

Thanks, Christine! I have sensitive eyes and do not want to risk the blush pigments irritating them since they have not officially indicated that they are safe for eyes.

Christina Avatar

Christine – you are truly a godsend! I saw your original post on the plane coming back to NY on Friday. I come by to your blog on Saturday to see what’s new and *bam* swatches. Thanks for all your hard work. I am super excited for Frenzy, Fervor and Panic but I might start out with something outside my comfort zone and get Panic. I can’t wait to see the final review.

Gillian Avatar

I’m all about shimmery blushes so these are right up my street! I’m loving so many of these colors, mostly the pink and coral ones, but it’s a shame that most of them come in a duo where I know I wouldn’t use the other colour. The only one I’d really get full use of would be Panic. Still, that one is gorgeous.

Emily Avatar

Sooo glad that none of these blushes really made me swoon nor drool. I like a couple of colors but they’re from two different compacts. Total pass. Thanks for the swatches, Christine. Will opt for a Charlotte Tilbury blush instead. I have to say if I think I want something, I always type “*insert product name* temptalia”. Love the honest reviews you give. Xo! 🙂
