The packaging is so pretty but I’m not sure about the actual colors in the collection. The Red Water Lily Blush is pretty and the Morning Light Eyeshadow Quad might have potential…hmm..it probably won’t come here anyway! 🙂
Yes! See, why can’t quality be this good across the board with their permanent selection and LE collections?! Of course this is going by preliminary swatches, but I doubt swatches this beautiful will disappoint.
Then again, I could be wrong. My list of exes proves that point.
Christine! Add voting so I can give this comment a thumbs up! LoL 😉
I have to at least get 1 lipstick & 1 blush just for the packaging. Ethereal orchid & lotus blossom.
Is it just me or does the swatches look very promising?!?! The packaging isn’t too shabby either! I’m very excited for this collection!
Ooh the Morning Light quad is stunning!
If Christine gives it an A, I’m sold! It hurts my wallet just to think about it, but YOLO!
I know, right? The price hurts, but just looking at the swatches it looks much better than what MAC’s put out lately, and I love those earthy tones. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself to a frivolous purchase, if it makes you happy!
I have like 1,000 browns and golds, but those are my colors! You can never have too much of your favorite thing, right? …Right??
Yeah! At least then you know you’ll be using the shades! I always feel like “oh I should get the palette that has different shades than I usually use” but then it goes to waste!
Oh no! I actually like the lipsticks and the face powder =[
I wish they had released a mirror. I would have bought that first pick.
This reminds me of Paul & Joe Cosmetics. I’ve never tried that brand, is it good quality?
I’m a sucker for cute packaging and Paul & Joe never disappoint packaging wise. Their products aren’t the most pigmented, but they don’t have that cheap feeling either! I think you should try it for yourself though. Asos.com has some items on sale, like old LE’s.
Thanks! Yes, I’ve seen some of their products on Asos. Once I placed an order for a cute flamingo palette thing, but I cancelled it because I was buying it just for the packaging (is it just me, or packaging draws me in more than anything?? That’s why I hate the idea of depotting something). The powder products inside had an unbearably cute design, each color was a different animal, and I figured I’d never, ever use it! ? I still want to get something from them though.
Hi Paz 🙂 A great way to try out Paul & Joe for a steep discount is on the website bglowing. The site is on ebates and always has a really good cash back from them. Once you get to the bglowing site sign up for sale alerts and you will get a discount promo code PLUS click the sale link because there’s usually a bunch of their stuff on sale. Between ebates, the promo code and the sale section it’s fun to try stuff without spending a lot. Since you like cute packaging while you’re on bglowing check out Anna Sui too. Her packaging is so adorbs it makes me want everything!!!
Thanks! I checked the website and they still have the palette I was talking about! I love Anna Sui as well ?
I have to admit that I splurged on a few items from this collection. I was kind of expecting the decorated parts would be a nice plastic though, so it would be reusable and last forever. 🙁
I’m beginning to think that I’m going to have to ask a family member for a loan in order to buy a few pieces! I can see those lipsticks being about $70 here in Australia, which to me is just… BAH. Shame there isn’t a mirror, because I would’ve been all over that. One thing is certain: I will be adding at least one piece to my collection!
$70 for one lipstick!?
I don’t know if it would be cheaper for you, but I’d be willing to get them for you here in the US and send them over.
lexingtonma@gmail.com if you’re interested 🙂
Everything looks like it is fairly nice quality compared to some of their recent collections! The blush looks super pigmented!
I’m a HUGE sucker for beautiful patterns/packaging, however I just can’t seem to justify the price tag!! I would grab a lippie, but not a fan of Lustres, they’re like a tinted lip balm on me.
Wow! From the swatches it looks like MAC finally listened and put the quality back into the LE’s! I love the blushes in particular..
The swatches look really good. Again, stunning packaging. I get that the cost come from the designer fabric used on the compacts, and the designer branding to go with it. So I won’t be buying, but I’m happy the quality is there for those splurging.
The packaging really does look stunning. I am in love with the morning light quad. Those shades make the brownish/goldish flecks in my hazel eyes disappear so they just look the purty green I wish they were. But then again I know that because I have similar colors galore and at that price I keep telling myself Tom Ford! You could get a Tom Ford quad! I really hope I keep your discipline and don’t lose my mind if it gets an A lol
I have hazel/green eyes, too, so I know exactly what you mean. If I were better off financially, this collection would tempt me more. I wanted the UD Vice 4 and Spectrum more, though, so I put the money on those.
If you cave, at least the quad got good grades, and the packaging is exquisite, so it will be worth the splurge. Good luck either way. 🙂
Ha! Thanks. I think I’m going to fall on the resist side. I just can’t justify the price. I have to choose carefully because I’m not even close to well off either. This is a hard one but I’m going to pass. Don’t be surprised if the morning they go on sale I don’t have a complete change of heart though lol
Omfg no ! I’m going to try really hard to convince myself I don’t need anything … Ugh so hard
I feel like I’ve seen those lipstick colors in every other MAC release.
I think Brave Red already exists, maybe from a previous LE collection? I have a Mac lipstick with that name already.
They swatch really nice, much better than I expected based on the pricetag. I want the Sweet Vapours Eyeshadow, but not interested in the rest of the shadows in that quad. Blue Horizon looks really nice, I wonder how it’ll look? I can’t seem to make a blue eyeshadow work on me.
These look superbly done!!! Looks the way a great holiday/ winter collection ought to with great pigmentation, perfectly synched colors, this is fantastic! Morning Light looks divine, as does Red Water Lily!
I’ve never owned a MAC product and I feel like I’m completely missing out! These are all gorgeous, but I thing the Celestial Peak Eyeshadow and the Red Water Lily Blush are my favorites! That packaging…too stinkin’ cute!
You are not missing much if you never own a MAC item. Sometimes looks good to drool, but that is about it.
Gahh… Red Water Lily looks beautiful! The price tag hurts though… I’m hoping for a superb dupe, otherwise I might just have to splurge. *wallet running off to hide and pray for many dupes*
As I scrolled down I kept saying “Oh Wow…Oh Wooow…” The packaging is stunning and all the swatches look very promising! I never chase around MAC LE products (or any products actually), but I am very interested in this collection. I will wait for your review Christine!
The packaging is so pretty I think I’m going to end up getting at least one thing haha! Looking forward to the reviews 🙂
The blushes look really pretty but at that price point I’d rather get a Chanel blush, I think.
That’s what I’m friggin’ talking about, MAC. I love everything about this. The quality looks like it’s there, and the shades are so PRETTY. I’m in love with both blushes and I know I won’t be able to afford them, but I will be spending plenty of time in the MAC store on Powell playing with them.
OMG, I’m going to pass out ! I NEED that Night Sky Shadow Quad in my life! Everything is so gorgeous -if I had the money, I would buy the whole collection
Wow. The quality on the blushes, highlighter and shadow palettes looks excellent. Wasn’t expecting to want anything from this, but now I’m reconsidering.
I kept scrolling down, scrolling and scrolling and loving the looks of eeeeeeeeverything.
Okay, maybe not the fluidlines, but after a brief fluidline phase a few years back, I realized I just don’t like potted gel eyeliner, anyway.
The blushes, beauty powder, brighter lipsticks, and eyeshadows? All totally up my alley! Love.
… kiiiinda don’t love the packaging, but it’s growing on me. That really stark yellow gold is a bit much for me.
Wow! The swatches actually look pretty amazing. I knew I loved the packaging after seeing the first promos, but I wasn’t prepared for good quality eyeshadows ( MACs holiday collections haven’t impressed me in this point so far). Morning Light might make a great gift for my sister, so I’ll have a closer look in store.
Thank you for the swatches, Christine, I might have skipped the whole collection without you.
The packaging is absolutely beautiful.
Oh my – the Red Waterlily blush is way more beautiful than I was expecting! I can’t wait to see the reviews.
Ethereal Orchid, Moonlight and Morning Light you will be mine!
I love the colors in this collection — some people might find them a little mumsy, but I like the retro feel of coral lip shades and blue shadows — very flattering on a range of skin tones! But I hope the beauty powder doesn’t only come in that shade — that would be odd!
Ethereal Orchid looks pretty! And so does the Morning Light quad.
Pass. The packaging is pretty, but nothing calls to me. This is about as boring as the Ellie Goulding collection.
Get it together, MAC.
I was really interested in the beauty powder. By the description, I expected more of a highlighter. But, it looks like just a powder?
The quads both look nice. I really like the gold one. IDK ifi am willing to pay that price though. $10 more and I could get another Viseart.
I would like to have something form this collection. But, I don’t want to be ridiculous about it. Looking forward to reviews!
Those eye quads actually look pretty nice! I might have to splurge and pick up the one with the browns!
The packaging is really pretty! Whenever a company comes out with a new collection, I always look at the packaging first and then only at the product. I do not care how good the product is if the packaging is unusable and not travel friendly. This collection looks perfect in that regard and I feel I want to acquire a compact or two.
Yes, this packaging makes the collection expensive, but I actually think the product themselves are nice. It’s a well edited collection of colors. I like the blue quad, but I doubt I’ll reach it often enough to justify the price, so it looks like I’ll be picking up a lipstick or gloss instead, possibly even the neutral quad, though that looks really warm.
Both of the quads are stunning!! I know this collection is going to sell out super fast so I’m kind of getting the idea of having a couple of pieces out of my head. I’ll probably end up building my own palette from the shades that are permanent and dupes. When it comes to LE MAC collections it’s better for me to have no expectations so then if I actually get my hands on something it’s a fireworks moment :).
ITS SO LIMITED!! :,(
the eye shadow quad looks pigmented but the lipstick looks very sheer. love the packaging!
Really doesn’t do anything for me; not my style at all. I like two of the eye shadows – one from each palette, naturally! – so will be looking forward to dupes for those.
The packaging is really gorgeous, but I have a feeling I might get a bit annoyed by the seems on the “round” things.
I might get a gloss, but it depens on the grades and if I have a dupe ot not.
I sould be all over this, but this collection will probably be ridiculously expensive here, so I’m really doing my best to talk myself out of this.
Personally I think MAC did a great job on the majority of these products! A big wow from me!
The Night Sky quad looks interesting – especially the Celestial Peak colour. A charcoal grey would perhaps have been a better inclusion than a boring matte black…..
The blushes looks good, but the lipsticks look way to sheer for me.
Those eyeshadow palettes make me want to learn how to use eyeshadow <3__<3
Holy Moly Batman!!! Why did these swatches have to look so good??? ? My wallet, the horror. Seriously though I want almost everything. The Red Water Lilly Blush, Brave Red Lipstick, Love of Roses Cremesheen and Morning Light Quad. MAC is becoming better than Sallie Mae at taking my money!!!
such a beautiful packaging!! Loving it 🙂 its launching here in NZ on OCT 5th..I can’t wait for the collection 🙂
