Oh, the top one looks nice and sleek – very smoky but also adaptable for every day (though Spun Gold and Dazzle the Night Away look a bit rough and patchy). Five years ago, I’d have grabbed this palette but now, it is probably not something I need at all. Still, I hope it scores well – it’s nice to see MAC have some winners
Having swatched both when MAC had that event over at SFS, I was immediately surprised by how much they improved their holiday eyeshadow palettes! I actually have the Rose-gold one in my cart, just waiting to see if Elle Belle comes back into stock. (Yep, that slippery deep red…. hoping I won’t look like the Joker or Harley Quinn within 1 hour!)
Not really feeling the shades or quality in the Gold palette, but I bet Rose Gold would be great if there was anyone out here who actually needs another neutral palette…
I was waiting on these swatches. I really can’t justify this for myself as I have dupes but these would make great gifts.
I ordered both blind as there were no swatches to look at. The rose gold one looks better quality but neither one looks all that impressive in terms of quality or creativity , might be returning both
I honestly thought these would both be a pass for me as there LE palettes usually are a miss, but the silver packaged one is calling to me.
Each palette has shades that I love and those I wouldn’t use. Some of the mattes look a little patchy. Some gorgeous shades here.
I wish I could get a single of Evening Light. The others in that palette swatched terribly.
Can’t wait to get mine!
I’m not interested in either palette as a whole, but I kind of fell in love with She Sparkles in the Rose Gold compact when I swatched it! I’d like to find a dupe with that kind of dimension. 🙂
The latter is clearly better than the former. Some shades are great, others are well below par. Rather disappointing, overall. MAC generates great excitement over holiday releases. Sorry these are so underwhelming . Doubt I’ll indulge in any holiday MAC 17. Feeling less than totally go about many issues. And that’s fine.
Look like easy skips to me.
