Hmmm, these are gorgeous in the tube, but they aren’t wowing me on the lips. I see a lot of colors that I can’t wear alone (white, yellow) and/or chunky glitter with patchy pigment. These are probably better for layering, but I prefer not to layer 2 lipsticks together, as it gets too heavy. Would’ve preferred if they had released these as sparkly glosses instead.

These were my for sure colours too! I was SO excited to get them, because duochrome lipsticks??? Um hell yeah! Glad I didn’t pick them up before swatches. I was picturing them as being a full coverage base with a strong shifting sparkle. Not these sheer, patchy, chunky lipsticks which could really only be used over a base colour 🙁

Wow. I think there might be some problems applying these evenly… These remind me of the Dazzle formula lipsticks that were introduced several years back (and have made occasional appearances since), but most of those didn’t have these issues. Sad trombone.

Lacey Avatar

Some of these look like they might be decent layering shades, but I agree with another poster who said glosses may have been better if that was the intention for the collection as a whole. I may still check out a few though.

I picked up soft hint, pick me pick me, and wild extract, and I love them! It’s nice to layer some fun shades over matte or satin and I love pick me on its own! I’m so excited that Mac got back to some wilder colors!!! Designer blue is also on my short list!!!

These are disappointing why add all these vivid colors to your permanent range and make low performing frosts. If I am going to buy a lime green or a mint green lipstick I want pigmentation. This is truly frustrating

Pink, You Think? looks similar to the pink lipstick just released in the Trolls collection, Dance Off, Pants Off. Love them both so I’ll get the one with the better rating.

Aaaah I’ve been waiting for these swatches and review!!! 😀

I bought three already, haven’t worn them yet. On & On, Soft Hint and No Interruptions. I wanted to buy them all but I’m glad I waited. I’m surprised and disappointed at how sheer and similar so many of them look on the lips. Most disappointed by Wild Extract. Why does MAC keep doing this to us??? ?

I will still buy a few more. Pink you think, Model Behavior, Spoiled Fabulous and Designer Blue. I do wish they were more pigmented. ?

Pick Me, Pick Me looks like Urban Decay Ether in lipstick form, and I love Ether in both the eyeliner pencil and the Moondust eyeshadow! I like the sheer more unusual colored lipsticks for layering over other lipsticks to alter their color. It’s really fun to play with like JR said.

I used to think that MAC was the industry standard but the pigmentation quality of a lot of their products for the past few years seems to have fallen way behind that of brands like UD, MUFE, etc.

Man I feel so bad. I feel like I never say anything nice (there are things I like. I promise. Lol), but considering how perfect her lips are, and how bad most of these look…I can’t even imagine what this would look on me…much worse, to say the very least. I’m not trying to insult her, I mean that’s the whole point: if they look this patchy and strange on ideal lips, who could wear this? I will say that I thought maybe 2 or 3 looked OK on their own, but some of the other colors…no.

I had such high hopes for these! They might work as toppers, but I wish Soft Hint would look like Jeffree Star’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Lauren Avatar

Well, these are mediocre when worn on their own. The only one that looks even halfway decent is Pink, You Think?, and even it looks somewhat patchy on the lips. Disappointing.

Astrild Avatar

I know they’re on trend right now, but I’ve never liked frost or metallic lipsticks (with one or two exceptions, Costa Chic I’m looking at you) and still don’t like them.

I bought On and On a few days ago and I think the picture doesn’t do it justice – I find the blue-teal shimmer to be a lot more noticeable. It reminds me of a duochrome eyeshadow, but for lips. Absolutely adore it!

Pilar Avatar

Patiently waiting for MAC to come up with some crazy lip pencil colours. I missed on the Brooke Candy blue one. Designer Blue looks pretty nice to me. Pick Me Pick Me looks cute, and Soft Hint too. I could pair those with a soft look and the ABH Moonchild palette. Although I understand why many people are disappointed, these aren’t usual colours, and the fact that they’re sheer ehh :/

Primpcess Avatar

These are terrible! The only ones I could possibly tolerate are Model Behaviour and Mac pink, you think? These could have been amazing if they weren’t all patchy and sheer. What a disappointment.

Ellie Avatar

Considering I haven’t bought any Mac products in years, I have to say I’m happy the colors that stand out to me the most don’t seem to perform well, so I’m not tempted to get them. 😀

Gabriella Avatar

I really love them!! I bought Model Behavior and it’s a purple and it comes out WAY better than the swatches in the photos. I don’t know how she applied them on her lips but if you apply it twice, it comes out beautiful.
I also like Pick me please and On and On, I’ll probably go buy those this week.
