Oh, Christine! I’m so glad you are reviewing! These look very promising, I’m eyeing the lighter ones. Hope they don’t emphasize any pores or look too glittery

CeeCee Avatar

DAMN. These are gorgeous and a lot of them are really unique, especially the really light almost white ones and bronze shades

I don’t know if I even have to wait for full reviews haha

liz Avatar

Yeah, that definitely makes it a lot easier! But man, I am OBSESSED with highlighters. These are gonna make a nasty dent, even with the lovely price point.

Audrey Avatar

There’s quite a few that look quite similar, but they all look beautifully executed. My favorite of the bunch wereLunch Money, Teasecake, Spoon, and Monster. Monster may be my favorite of them all due to how subtle it was. I’ve yet to buy anything from ColorPop, but with every review that I see my self restraint is dwindling, lol!

Ginny Avatar

So excited. I’ll stop myself from buying them all but I’m not going to be as strict as I was with the blushes (which I narrowed down to four). If I want to buy ten of these, I just will.

Dani Avatar

I ordered Boba and butterfly beach a week or so ago. I hope they aren’t too dark on my skin tone to still work. It looks like that, at some point, spoon will have to come home with me. I just wish colourpop wasnt all online. .and didn’t take so long to ship!

Nicole Avatar

I am super happy you got these! I was going to order some this weekend as my ColurPop wish list has grown sooo long! I guess I will cool it and try to be patient for you r reviews. I so hope these do well! 🙂

Drake Avatar

Can’t wait to see the reviews on these – I just ordered Lunch Money and Barcelona Beach the other day and the swatches look beautiful!

Mariko Avatar

I am so in love with these highlighters. I got Wisp, Lunch Money, and Stole the Show. Wisp I have to be a little careful with because I’m fair and it looks like I panted a stripe of gold across my cheek if it isn’t blended. I’m in love with Lunch Money, it’s perfection. And they’re so buttery, I just love Colourpop.

Mariko Avatar

I used my fingertips the first time but I wanted a more subtle application, and more blended. I just felt like it was too easy to be heavy handed with my fingers. So today I used a fan brush and I love the result. I just brushed it across, well actually just downward strokes, the highlighter a few times and brushes it on my cheeks. It’s exactly what I wanted.

Leah Avatar

*Sigh* This website is NOT GOOD when I am trying to save money. Christine, I have been reading your blog for seven years and I appreciate all of the work you do and your timely reviews. You’re the best blogger ever!

Alice Avatar

I’ve been holding off on placing an order, simply because it’s been difficult to choose. Thanks so much for the swatches, now I’m ready! Btw, thanks so much for introducing me to Colour Pop, I’ve ordered quite a few shadows, lip pies, and blushes from them and couldn’t be happier. I love supporting an independent, woman-owned brand and really appreciate the range of mainstream and independent brands you choose to feature on your site. Thanks for your hard work and honest reviews!

Christine Avatar

I’m happy to do it! I love being able to find and share great, affordable products, because it’s so much easier for everyone to share in that discovery AND proof that you don’t have to spend $50 for a top notch product!

What have been your absolute favorites from what you’ve tried, Alice?

Daheep Avatar

Thank you! I am so glad you swatched these; the Colourpop website’s swatches are kind of misleading. I almost bought Wisp yesterday & I’m glad I didn’t, as it wasn’t the color I thought it would be. Looking forward to the reviews! 😀

Karen Avatar

I ordered Tasty and Boba shortly after release! So they should be arriving in the next couple of days. I am super in love with ColourPop’s normal cheek formula (SO creamy and blendable while also super buildable ), so I hope that these high lighters live up to that standards.

Trina Avatar

That’s so funny my order finally arrived today too! I gues we are on the same shipping schedule. But 1 was broken i hope they have good customer service I’ve never had any problems with my other orders. So glad you’re reviewing these i reallt dislike making blind purchases.

Ginny Avatar

I understand if you don’t want to answer this before reviewing, but I have a question: What do you consider to be the dupes within this line? Or like, instances where if you buy this one, you just don’t need that one?

Christine Avatar

Hey Ginny,

I really haven’t thought about it – I usually do not digest products until I test that specific shade and/or write down the review, so I’m not sure yet! I would probably think about how you anticipate wearing them – like all the white golds/beiges aren’t going to be that different if you wear them really sheer.

Lotus Avatar

Oh wow! Are you kidding me?! I’ve been so hesitant to try anything in this brand thinking there has to be a catch with something.. But I’m falling in love.. Are there any reports on how these react on sensitive reactive skin types? Is there a catch? I looked at the beautiful review for the blush you just posted and, please correct me if I’m wrong, these are all the same texture as Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre? How heavy does it feel on the cheeks? Pore clogging? I’m reading great things yet I’m skeptical.. And the price is $8? What? As @Celia commented about the wonderful ways they are working together on various skin types, I can’t help but be intrigued to purchase a trio of my personal collie choosing.. Yet, is it safe? I’m so blown away that I’m having difficulty embracing this.. And not embracing it has now officially become equally, if not more, difficult. Any advice, please? Any reports of people reacting negatively & what kind of a demographic in skin type do those reports usually fill? Are these genuinely ok for everyone? A concerned yet eager Lotus awaits! Btw, you look GORGE in these! I see CdP luminizer dupes! Is this for real?! But the consistency of Chanel Illusion D’ ombres? Is there a price or quantity that must be reached prior to purchase? I’m authentically interested in whatever I can now learn so information is highly appreciated! Thank you so much to all in advance! <3 (Smh still) wow :O

Lotus Avatar

Sorry, but I forgot to ask: How do you apply these? What is the difficulty level comparable to? Are some of them stains? Multi-use? So sorry to ask so much! I’ve been hesitant forEVER! I’m beside myself in anticipation right now! Omg! (Though on a “don’t be tempted” behavior I chose, I still peeked in here from time to time & you’ve not lost me. I love this blog & it’s always the first thing I check, but now I’m involved!) haha! Soooo can’t wait for the 411! <3 xx

Christine Avatar

The highlighters have been easier to apply, and the blushes seemed to have a learning curve for me. They’re not hard necessarily, but I feel like you might not LOVE it from the first application. Fingertips are great, and I’ve had good luck with MAC’s 159 (duo fiber cheek). The lighter shades I tend to apply with fingertips as I’m medium skin toned, but the darker shades I prefer a brush since they can go on rather intensely otherwise! They haven’t seemed to stain on me yet, but it’s possible that some of the deeper ones could on fairer skin. Some of them have that almost stained cheek look – not shiny, but not matte.

Lotus Avatar

Aww, thank you so much for replying! You’re SO kind, I’m uber sensitive and tearing up! Thank you so much! They sound perfect! I will be placing an order for certain! Sticky Sweet, Boba, Hippo and Monster, for sure! Can they be displaced and mixed with foundation? I’m SO excited to try these! Thank you infinitely!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 xx

Ginny Avatar

Lotus I haven’t had any trouble applying the blushes with fingertips. I just pat my finger in the pot to pick up a tiny amount and then pat onto cheeks, then blend with circular motion. A little goes a long way, even if it doesn’t seem like enough at first, they actually intensify as you blend them, but then they diffuse really nicely (and my skin is pale, pale pale). I have even used some of the really bright, intense colors with this method and it works. They haven’t stained me or clogged my pores. They sit like powder.

Lotus Avatar

Hi Ginny! Thank you so much for sharing that with me! After seeing some YouTubes, they really seem idiot proof, so I’m glad to hear it! I originally meant act like a stained look, not stain the skin, but I said it wrong! What colors are you enjoying most? 🙂 My eyes are on Thumper, Mochi, Early Bird, Prenup, Birthday Suit, Pegacorn, Pie, Holiday and Bonus. Possible Fruit Stand. I’m of fairest Skin with cool undertones. 😀 highlighters look great as well! Monster &Hippo for sure, Spoon, Smokin Whistles, and Steal the Show.. I’d love your thoughts! 🙂

Ginny Avatar

I bought Prenup, Birthday Suit, Homie, and More Please. I love them all. Home and More Please look very similar applied (like a bright berry color), but Homie is matte and More Please is shimmery. Homie and Pie probably look the same applied, too. Birthday Suit and Prenup look like powders when applied. Homie and More Please look like stains (I think the brighter the color the more stain-like it will look?). I’m so impressed with them, they really do not fade. I went back and ordered Early Bird but haven’t received it. I think all the colors you mentioned will work on your skin tone. Prenup is my top favorite. I think you also can’t go wrong with Birthday Suit (very subtle) and Pie (great pop of color). Pick one between Thumper and Mochi, those are too similar to each other I think.

Today I also ordered highlighters and I ordered exactly all the ones you mentioned. Those are the ones I thought would look best on really fair skin. Spoon I thought was iffy, maybe too golden, but what the heck I thought so I got that one, too. If you’re willing to wait a week or two I can report back on how they worked for me 🙂 It’s tough ordering from somewhere when there’s no option to return for a refund.

Lotus Avatar

Ginny! LOL! That was so fun to read! What a coincidence! Thank you! I feel encouraged with my selection and I’m certain to chose Thumper over Mochi.. Who knows? At least they are permanent and there’s no rush! Your results have me so excited and I can’t wait for June because that will be the best time to read your results and buy a huge bundle! LOL again! With the highlighters, I thought exactly the same about spoon, but what the heck, right? HAHA! 😀 You’re great!! Thank you sooo much! 🙂 you’ve given me what I need to think about! 🙂 Pegacorn is satin so maybe just a pie for desert along with all others! I hope you enjoy your order comes in soon and you enjoy everything! Can’t wait! 🙂 xoxo

Christine Avatar

Hey Lotus,

Yep, the texture is like Illusion d’Ombres — I would say with the blushes they have a slightly drier feel than Chanel’s Illusion d’Ombres, but the more shimmery shades are similar. ColourPop’s more satin/matte blushes (and eyeshadows) are most similar in texture to the DiorShow Fusion Mono Mattes – if you’ve tried those. Also similar to MAC Electric Cool, Buxom Stay There, and the original DiorShow Fusion Monos. I can’t recall any readers having irritation or breakouts from the products by memory!

You can buy however much you want, but $30 is the threshold for free shipping 🙂 I have bought from them half a dozen times? I’d say, and I’ve had no issues receiving my products. They usually take a week or longer to process orders, but once it ships out, it is usually 2-3 days. They also post their ingredients on each product, so you can always look through those if you know you have a sensitivity to certain ones!

Lotus Avatar

Oh my! Thank you so much for responding so quickly! You’re amazing! Thank you! That answers greatness! Wonderful news! Fabulous! I am still confused on one thing, though.. Are they a press pad? They look so uniform.. It’s hard to imagine e them as you described, though it’s s great description! $30 & free shipping… I’m late to the party! And the other blushes are this texture as well? Lastly, are they a multiple use product? Thank you so much for a complete response! I’m “super shocked” ! Ha! Maybe I can find pictures that shows dents or a ruler for size and texture I.D. So odd! The company & all you’ve shown and explained really sounds superb, though. Do you favor these over other high end? Do they dry out quickly? Like use fast or no luck? It seems too good to be true! Magical!

Christine Avatar

Yep, the blushes are the same texture (their eyeshadows are also the same type of texture). They are just cheek products, though I’ve seen some use them as eyeshadows!

I haven’t had any dry out on me, but you’ll definitely want to take care not to just leave them open for an hour on end if you can remember to close. I definitely reach for the eyeshadows for fun – I’ve used almost every shade they have, and I’d go to the box to test the next set whenever I wanted to use something that was likely to be good and impressive (which is also how I’ve tested and worked through MUFE’s Artist Shadows!).

Ginny Avatar

Lotus, I’m back with my thoughts on the highlighters. My favorite is Monster, the pink duochrome is so cool. My second favorites are Hippo and Smokin Whistles, wearable for day or night but still make an impact. The ones I could do without were Stole the Show and Spoon. Stole the Show is a nice white gold but I found the glitter particles to be more noticeable. Spoon blends in with my skin and just looks like a ton of sparkle. I have to give a shout out to Teasecake. I wasn’t sure about it but it is such a nice rosy glow for pale skin. These are all GLOWY. Like, you gonna glow girl. They look nice dabbed on the eyelids too. Early Bird is also a really nice blush! Good luck choosing 🙂

Lotus Avatar

Ginny, thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback! I had made an order them cancelled it so now I’m informed, I think I have an idea what I’ll do! You’re super sweet to come back and let me know the results! 🙂 I’m sorry about spoon and stole the show. 🙁 I’m wondering if tease cake is similar to NARS Reckless blush? Hmm.. I’m intrigued by honorary mentions! 😉 How do you feel about their eyeshadows? I read about so much fallout and my eyes can’t handle that so I’m iffy on the eyes. I’m happy early bird was a hit! Thank you for letting me know! And it’s not like pie or anything else you have? Swatches everywhere.. I wish they could be arranged by color, more so than the website, to see the similar ones which will pol basically the same! Fingers crossed! Thanks again! :* xoxo!

Ginny Avatar

You’re welcome! I think Teasecake is darker than Reckless. Early Bird is different than the other ColourPop blushes I bought. I think it would look different than Pie too. It does, however, look similar to Clutch and Fruit Stand to my eye. I like their eye shadows but I’m not going crazy buying them. Their appeal to me is that I can use my fingers (I’m not really interested in buying a bunch of individual creams and then still having to use an array of brushes. Why do that when I can just use my powder shadows) but my fingers are too big to really do a full eye look lol. So I do like a couple shades (I Heart This, Get Lucky) for just dabbing on the lid. If fallout is what you’re worried about, I haven’t experienced much fallout honestly! But you could try the matte or satin shades first, they should have zero fallout.

Lotus Avatar

Whoops! And: what is ordering like? Are they always sold out? Does it take forever? Is shipping an arm and a leg? Does the internet crash?? I’ve not yet (at all) ventured into ColorPop! I respect your experience and will hence wait for your answers when you find the time to respond. 🙂 You deserve accolades for so many at once! BRAVO!

Christine Avatar

Shipping is free on $30+ orders. I’d say it takes about 1-2 weeks to get your order 🙂 For example, I ordered the highlighters on 4/27 and received them 5/6. More or less, if you’re ordering right when they’ve released new products, then it can be a little slower. Which seems to be always lately (lots of new stuff). They don’t seem to really sell through their stock typically – Boba is temporarily out but that’s not the norm.

Victoria Avatar

Christine, they look so bomb on you! All of them! 😀

I have a lot of goldy/champagne highlighters so I want something a bit beige-r. Choosing between Highly Waisted and Spoon. Which do you think is more beige? 🙂

Connie Avatar

Did you see that they just released some bronzers? Have you ordered those yet? (I know, I know, impatient, lol! I’m trying to hold out to order all the highlighters and bronzers til after your reviews!)

Connie Avatar

YAY!!! I’m an olivey, light-med Asian and I find most products look very similar to me as they do on you, so you’re kind of my guide as to whether I should get something or not 🙂

olivia Avatar

I bought these as soon as they became available. I have 9 of then and could not be happier with the quality. I’m not a huge colourpop fan girl. But I do very much love these highlighters. They hit the nail 100% on the head. Unique shades too. Monster and hippo I’ve never seen before. I look forward to putting my highlighter on the most now a days. I’m very pale. I stuck with stole the show, lunch money, hippo, highly waisted, teasecake, monster, wisp, spoon, and smokin whistles. I’d say wisp I’d kind dark but still manageable ( and gorgeous)

Kristi Avatar

Wow! I just got Most Necessary and it’s so beautiful but doesn’t apply too well:/ how did you get it to apply so potently to your cheeks? They’re so pretty!
