Sneak Peek: ColourPop Stone Cold Fox Palette Swatches
ColourPop Stone Cold Fox Palette ($34.00) just launched yesterday morning, and here are swatches… It’s currently 25% off (likely through Sunday or Monday, but I don’t have an actual end date) along with the rest of the brand’s site.

I’m not planning on getting it but these swatches look pretty good. This seems like a great deal.
Honestly I’m feeling good about not picking this up. I REALLY wanted it at first, but I’ve realized that all of my Lorac Mega Pro’s make it redundant in my collection. I have these shades, possibly in formulations I like more.
There are so many redundant shades here. How many mid-tone pinky mauves do you need in the same pallette?
Truth!
Yup – Trip, Stranger, Enigma and Fascinated all seem interchangeable enough that, on the eye, you really don’t need all 4. I imagine there are minor differences in the pans and when heavily arm-swatched but, really – on my eyelid, I can’t imagine there would be much difference at all.
So don’t want this as a result.
I completely agree. This seems like “the emperor’s new clothes” of palettes — do people truly not see how few actual differentiated colors there are?!?
About the same as we need more warm brown palettes that keep coming out. LOL
Let me just state one very obvious boo-boo on ColourPop’s end: y’all named a PLUM shade Obsidian??? Obsidian is almost always a deep black or greenish black, not plum!
As for the palette itself, not bad! It’s almost as nice as Glam by ND. Almost, but still not quite. I’m still questioning whether I could pull off an all cool tone palette that well, but I may try?
Honestly, you’d be fine; Colourpop is another brand that doesn’t know what cool toned means. At best, these are mostly neutral-warm shades.
THANK YOU!! This is one of my biggest pet peeves with ColourPop! I only wear cool tones and other than the Fame palette, which was 18 shades of mid toned beige, their other “cool toned” palettes are actually warm. I’ve found the same with Natasha Denona. I bought the Glam palette and was disappointed to see that there are only a few true cool shades, the rest are neutral leaning warm.
I was laughing at that you. Their naming of stuff us ridiculous sometimes. Obsidian? A PLUMMY BROWN? WHAAAAT? 😂
Ha, agreed! Also, the dusty mauve is “Play it Coal.” Colourpop… have you seen rocks?
But CP enjoys playing contrarian. Remember when they named a metallic chartreuse eyeshadow “Rosé All Day”?
Boo, I sure do remember that crazy name, “Rosé All Day”! That’s probably it, they just love to play with our heads by using bizarre naming processes. Ones that make zero sense!
Yes exactly, or like a blue super shock shade called coconuts a few years ago or something along those lines. They consistently like to mess with us they must get a big kick out of their stupid naming non-system.
I’ll bet that they use a raffle system to name their stuff, Bonnie! Like one of those drums you got to spin around or something!🤣
Haha! Yes, they also used to have a shocking pink lippie stix called “Barely There”.
Yep! I remember that one, Sonia! 😂
Definitely some redundant shades but hoo boy, I’m (reluctantly) feeling it. It’s a nice muted warm palette. Don’t want anything this large, however.
So Stone Cold is Colourpop for slightly warm, got it!
I had high hopes for this, but…nope. Not worth the trouble of figuring out how to store it!
Am I the only one that sees this as very similar in vibes to the Naked 3 palette? I think I will save my pennies and just pull out Naked 3 and have some fun.
That’s exactly what I thought! Looking at the swatches at first I was getting wooed, but then I realized I can create a very similar look with Naked 3.
If I close one eye, tip my head to the left, and squint a little, I might see some differences in these shades. Maybe. How and why would you put out a palette that has so many similar and not unique shades? Anyway, I am passing, of course.
The swatches actually look quite good – but I still think there are lots of duplicate shades here, especially of the the pink themed ones. I think CP could have cut this palette down by at least a third. And there are probably far too many mattes here for me. But I am pleased to see that the swatches look decent, it restores my faith in the brand.
I think this faux cool palette is even warmer than Fame. Maybe they’re doing the CP naming thing, using a reference ‘stone cold fox’. As in, icily hot woman. maybe they don’t mean to imply that the shades are cool, but that’s the connotation. IDK. They get my + for the name Gneiss Guy. That’s clever and apt. This is ridiculous, but i thought this would be a good palette if you were going to a nursing home. (Being stuck in one place, seldom traveling, and being severely restricted in what you may bring.) Suspect i have better SG dupes for the shades i like. Funny that even when CP thinks they are stepping outside the box, we all think ‘been there, done that.’ If C reviews this, I’ll bet every shade has a minimum of 3 CP dupes.🙄🙄🙄
Am…. am I crazy or is this not cool toned?
Also… not enough mattes for me. Almost got lured in but hard pass.
You’re not crazy at all. ColourPop doesn’t know what a cool toned color is. They think just because there aren’t any reds, oranges or yellows in this palette that it’s automatically cool toned.
Agree, it’s so not cool toned! I’m seriously curious — it’s not enough mattes for your preference? I count 9 shimmers and 21 mattes. I feel the opposite… I wish for more shimmers! Lol. How many mattes would you have liked in a palette this size? I’m always interested in why people want so many more mattes. I personally only use a few, so I wish it was more 50/50 split.
I bet I could dupe almost all my fave shades in this palette, which is what I’ll end up doing.
Wow, feeling buyers remorse. I looked at so many swatches before deciding to buy and it did not look this pink! Ugh hope I like it better in person.
Fame and Flutter By are my favorite palettes by CP so this is right up my alley, but… I own That’s Taupe and Making Mauves so I know I can dupe all these shades!
I think they called this cool toned because they included one cool brown, one silver and one dark grey. And then the ubiquitous 27 warm shades. Couldn’t be helped. It’s colourpop.
It looks quite nice, but I have to agree with the majority here. It’s not a cool-toned palette, and the medium pinky brown shades all look similar.
Sooo… I bought this. I was lured in by the promise of cool shades and many options. The colors are indeed cool. However, they blend out to a muddy grey mess.
Don’t bother. I should have taken it as a big clue when Christine didn’t rate this palette.
