I would definitely go for a few of these!
Awesome!
Definitely interested in trying theses out. I love the concept of building your own palette, & Buxom is making it affordable by setting a lower price if you buy 6 pans & a compact. I also want to say thanks to Temptalia…you are so prompt in switching & reviewing very new products, & so thorough! I’ve been too busy to get to my local Sephora to see these shadows in person, & the suspense has been driving me nutty, but now I can see from Temptalia’s swatches what the colors really look like. I know they may show up differently on my skin, but at least I gave a better idea. Thank you Temptalia.!
I’m so glad I could help, Bonnie! 🙂 I think it’s great that they give such a big discount when you fill the palette!
Thank you for sharing all these swatches! I couldn’t resist putting together a palette when I saw these go live. I bought Cool Caviar, Jetsetter, Bold Bling, Famous Flirt, Champagne Buzz, Designer or Die and I was trying to decide if I should put together a second palette. Still undecided but I know that I’ll definitely skip VIP and Spoiled Sexy. I really like how easy these palettes are to customize and pop the shadows in and out.
They are easy to swap in and out!
I have a few faves out of this bunch!
Filthy Rich Eyeshadow
Spender Eyeshadow
Glitz Factor Eyeshadow
It Crowd Eyeshadow
Good picks! 🙂 Those would go nicely together, too!
Asides from the mattes, those are some lovely swatches! I never really considered Buxom for eyeshadows but these are great.
They seem promising!
Looks like a mixed a bag here, but hey at this price point, I’m not expecting MUFE quality, and with the lure of an affordable, beautiful custom palette, I can fix most of the issues with a primer or cream-based shadow. I like how they have a mix of cool and warm shades and finishes here, and the colors are wearable for many people. So sad about VIP, looks like purples continue to be a challenge for many brands
Purples really seem hard! 🙁
The shimmers look great, but some of those mattes are scary (Spoiled Sexy, VIP, LBD). I’m liking Lacy Chick, Patent Leather, La-La-Lavender, It Crowd (OMG, it’s gorgeous!!). I’m sad Spoiled Sexy looks so horrible; it could have been a great crease shade.
Definitely questionable mattes!
the sparkly ones seem nice but some of those mattes look painful!
We shall see how they perform on the eye!
I’m pretty disappointed by the jewel tones. They’re just not the rich, deep colours I thought they were! Oh well… I can hunt for those shades somewhere else. This is still a cool system. I have soo many eyeshadow palettes I’m eyeing, though…
If only they used this for the Ready line 🙁
IKR??? That would have been awesome!!!
Is it fairly easy to switch out the palettes in these?
I’m sorry–let me rephrase that: is it fairly easy to switch out shadows in the palettes?
Yes, they are!
Great swatches, yet I have forgotten how well having hundreds of MAC eye shadows serve me in every color category! 😀 Still, I find myself dearly attached to a good handful already! Seems excellent all around! 🙂
Glad you’re enjoying your stash!
Thank you so much! It’s really been a revelation! I’ve not dared open all those drawers and touch for sooo long. I’m really glad I am now! 🙂
These all look so pretty, and the pricepoint is awesome, but they’re all pretty much dupeable for me… I’m not complaining though, LOL!
Yeah, the shade range is definitely more basic, though it does seem to be heavier on the mattes than many lines are from the beginning!
You know, these swatches completely changed my mind! I was going to place a matte order, but they’re not impressing me. I think I will get some of the more shimmery shades and break out of my Matte Rut! Thanks!
No problem!
I don’t know… I think I’ll pass on these. Already have plenty and lately rarely wear any eye shadow, unless is cream.
Sounds like a good plan if you usually only wear cream eyeshadows!
Some of these look interesting, but to touch on a pet peeve of mine, can we please impose a ban on reddish brown shadows with a frosted green sheen? I remember thinking that combo sounded amazing when I saw it in an Urban Decay printed catalogue in 1995 (Lounge), but now EVERYONE has to have that particular combination. There are so many cool base + sheen combos that could be done. Why is this repeated ad nauseum?
Ahem. Rant over. Look forward to the reviews.
It must be really, really easy to do that particular combo is my guess!
Some people are “brand loyal”, so why not do something that obviously sells? That’s like saying, “Can we please impose a ban on red lipstick/matte black eyeshadow/clear lip gloss, etc…, since every brand already has one?” Besides, not every brand is readily available in every place, or some people have allergies and/or moral oppositions to certain brands, so options are always nice.
The thing that gets me is that the shade is ubiquitous, and whenever I wear one, it inevitably just gives me the warm brown tone and none of the green flash. So common AND disappointing! 🙁
I wear them over a black or green base, and that seems to really help.
One major exception to that is MUFE Peacock. OMG! It has a super strong teal green flash!!!!
There are many fabulous colours here -some that SHOULD have been included in the Naked Smoky palette – Cool Caviar for example. Love this range and the fact that you can choose your colours. However, I wish there were some darker greens – an olive maybe…..
Hopefully they expand it!
Wow, they duped MAC Club eyeshadow! I ain’t mad at all.
It seems similar!
I bought 6 of these and I sent them back. For primer infused shadows, I was underwhelmed. Patent Leather was sheer, very gritty and NOT a rich vibrant purple at all. I swatched them and shared on Makeupalley. Maybe I just picked wrong though.
What other shades did you get, Rachel?
I can easily see myself putting together a palette with some of these, depending on the quality.
There are some winners, I think… some misses as well.
I am waiting for your reviews. I swatched them tonight at the store. The mattes seem SOF and smooth. I don’t use mattes. Dome colors look too similar such as the gold and browns. I like the platinum. Some swatch well and others didn’t. As usual Sephora is never complete. All were in stock except the sets. Why? Likely the empty pans were not available for purchase.
It does seem to be a line with some misses, but hopefully some hits, too!
Ooooh, I love the looks of Patent Leather! At first, I wasn’t seeing enough unique shades to wow me, but there are a few in there that look interesting.
It seems to be a more basic line, though I did like that they had some brights and some more neutral-toned neutrals, not just your typical warmer browns!
I’m curious to see if these work for you. They swatched beautifully for me but I could not get them to work on my eyes. I tried them with and without a primer. I was so disappointed. Wild Nights is such a pretty color and the palette is sturdy and cute. :’-(
I haven’t had any major issues so far!
Wooooo, these look really GOOD! I really like the look Filthy Rich and It Crowd, I bet those two would look awesome together.
I bet they would!
There are at least a half dozen that I really want – Patent Leather, Room Service, Style Icon, Champagne Fizz….the list goes on! How good that one is “rewarded” for buying more! Christine, will you be reviewing these at some point?
I’m hoping to work through the line – I have tested about 24 of them so far. How far I get ultimately depends on whether something more pressing (e.g. limited edition/more popular) gets released in the next couple of weeks 🙂
My slightly cockeyed palette would consist of:
1. It Crowd , 2. Glitz Factor, 3. Famous Flirt, 4. Room Service, 5. Patent Leather, 6. La-La-Lavish.
I know that only the first 3 make sense, but after swatching Room Service last night I just fell totally in love with it, it is quite an interesting one! I think it could work with It Crowd and Glitz Factor because of its gold-ish duochrome.
Pretty palette picks!
Some of these looks really good! I wonder if I can get BUXOM here… I would certainly like to try a few of the shadows.
I hope you can!
I just got the customize palette with the colors posh purple, backstage pass, schmooze, prenup, pure platinum, and diamond darling. This is my first time using this brand and they just became my new favorite. Love, love, love!
I read this blog yesterday and ran out to Sephora to purchase these. OMG I am in love !!! I own several of the name brand large pallets but really wanted something more custom, something I could put together. The colors are amazing and so buttery. I have no blending issues with these at all. It was such an amazing deal I am going back today to purchase another set. Thanks for writing this review , it sure helped me make the best decision ….LOVE LOVE LOVE
