Smashbox Paradise Blush Rush Review, Photos, Swatches
The First Blush of Spring: Smashbox Paradise Blush Rush
Smashbox Paradise Blush Rush ($24.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a lightly golden shimmered peach with just a smidgen of pink in it. It’s more like an orange-coral, perhaps, but the pink really is downplayed. Paradise isn’t the most unique shade, but Smashbox’s Blush Rush formula is particularly lovely. It’s smooth, soft to the touch, and applies beautifully to cheeks. The color always look natural and never overdone, but they offer buildable color for those who want a light cheek and others who want a more intense look. Paradise is just one of those shades that’s incredibly easy to wear with a variety of looks from the everyday to the bold and dramatic. If you like blushes like MAC Springsheen and NARS Orgasm, Paradise is right there with ’em!
I’ve always liked Smashbox’s permanent product packaging — it’s functional and sleek. Cute packaging is fun, but it’s gotta be functional, too. It just has a very clean look to it, which I dig. Price-wise, it’s a little more expensive than your average blush at $184/oz. (compared to MAC blushes at $88/oz. and NARS blushes at $156/oz.), but actual investment is in line with NARS ($25) and Illamasqua ($23).
You can see me wearing Paradise in this look! 🙂

Smashbox Cosmetic have just been launched in the U.K. Not really impressed by their products!
Really? What have you tried?
OMG love it! It reminds me of NARS Torrid blush that I use and have not even made a dent in it. I am a sucker for peachy colors (I’m African American, skin tone like Gabriel Union) but find darker peaches look better on me. I’m hoping to test this and see if it shows up!
Let us know if it shows up, PJ!
LOVE THIS! Funny thing is I am actually wearing this today with lovechild liglass and bare study paint pot on the lids. It gives me a finished glow when im in a hurry. Like Christine said this is the version of orgasm that looks good on ME (i think orgasm has too much pink and the shimmer in this one is more toned down for every day). I also agree with Christine about the packaging though I was surprised she didn’t mention the hidden mirror that slides out from the bottom…pretty sleek and cool! haha so sad that I look up to this blog soo much that seeing this here actually validates my purchase?!?!
LOL!
Awww, I am glad you love this, too, Alex! It helps validate *my* review when others are like, “Oh, this was how it was for me, too!” Sometimes it’s just nice to know you weren’t alone thinking that, you know? Or sometimes I love something and I’m like, “Why doesn’t anyone else love it?!”
why does it look much darker up close? O_o
Looks about the same to me? Different angles will reflect light in various ways – like maybe the shimmer isn’t caught as much.
do you think it can be a dupe for MACs HK Blush in Fun N Games? I really want to find a dupe for it since its my FAV blush!
Not really… Fun ‘n Games has a different finish (not so much shimmer) and it’s very orange in comparison 🙁
Beautiful shade. Must check it at Sephora.
oh~ beautiful swatch!
aside from the shimmer effect, is the color close to MAC’s Ombre blush in ripe Peach or NARS deep throat?
Yeah, it’s close to Ripe Peach (though maybe pinker), and I’d say more in line with Orgasm than Deep Throat.
I love that you reviewed this product. Recently I have been in love with Smashbox and I feel that is a brand that does not get alot of recognition. There blushes are great and the packaging is great well excet for their Reign collection, I was not a big fan of that packaging in that collection..lol
YAY! They do some excellent PERMANENT products – their eyeshadows and blushes are both so smooth and soft. Very nice!
I didn’t love Reign either (packaging wasn’t a hit for me as well!).
Very pretty, I love a peachy keen cheek.
Its very pretty, but its not a very unique shade, to me this blush is more of a tone down version of NARS orgasm.
I haven’t bought smashbox in forever.. but I just bought the shadow liner in Imperial the other day (I prefer the single pots at QVC instead of the duos at Smashbox or Sephora) and heads up a Today’s Special Value is scheduled for 2/22.
I haven’t had much luck in the last year with smashbox powder bluses, but I have had really good luck with their cream blushes. This is a beautiful color, but will pass.
*wants.
Such a pretty colour, reminds me of the MAC hello kitty blush in fun and games.
Looks exactly like MAC’s blush in Style. Dupe?
More like Springsheen/Peachykeen!
Did anyone else notice that on the bottom of this blush it says “Made in China”??? I thought Smashbox makeup products weren’t made in China…..
