Holy Crop

Smashbox Holy Crop Photo Edit Eye Shadow Trio ($22.00 for 0.11 oz.) contains a light copper, rich copper, and deep brown. The color scheme worked well for a trio format, but I wish the quality of Smashbox’s eyeshadows was more consistent and just better, period.

Loungerie

Loungerie is a soft, light-medium copper with warm, orange-red undertones and a pearl finish. It had a moderately powdery consistency, which kicked up quite a bit of product in the pan and resulted in sheerer application unless applied with a dampened brush or over a tacky primer. It had good pigmentation (before blended, as it sheered out then!) that lasted for six and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview

-

The formula is supposed to be "super-blendable" and "richly-pigmented." I found the quality to vary a lot from shade to shade, even with a trio, as some shades had soft, blendable texture and others were drier, dusty, and messy to work with and had pigmentation that sheered out or faded quickly. I wanted to like them more than I ended up after using them on the lid as I routinely felt like the brighter shades never looked quite as vibrant in practice as they did in the pan. Most of the shades were blendable and had coverage from medium to opaque with a few being sheer. They lasted anywhere from five to eight hours on me.

Miss Chili

Miss Chili is a deep, red-toned brown with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. There were faint sparkles strewn throughout the shade, but it functioned and appeared more matte in practice. The texture was slightly dusty and a bit thin, but it had semi-opaque, buildable coverage that blended out without too much work. It stayed on well for seven hours.

Outfoxed

Outfoxed is a rich, medium-dark copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied fairly well to bare skin, but it did apply more smoothly and easily when applied with a dampened brush. The texture was moderately dense, smooth without being gritty, and blended out well. It lasted for seven hours on me before fading noticeably.
