Smashbox Cosmetics – Eyeshadows – Photos & Swatches (Part 1)

Smashbox Cosmetics – Eyeshadows – Photos & Swatches (Part 1)

Smashbox’s Eyeshadows ($16.00 each) include thirty-two shades of ultra smooth, well-pigmented eyeshadows. Most of the eyeshadows are shimmery, with just a few having more satiny or matte finishes. Their eyeshadows are also touted as hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and fragrance-free. I was actually quite surprised by how smooth and velvety they felt, not to mention everys ingle one had amazing color pay off. Many of the shades are even more striking in person than they are in photos, too! The price point is not too hard to swallow either, which is always a plus.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Hhmmm! Spellbound, Minx and Cabernet are the only ones that I find beautigul. I don’t own any Smashbox e/s or cosmetics. I got a l/g as a gift but don’t remember the color (it’s an ok l/g). Overall, this brand is not one that excites me.

Oyster looks like a gorgeous highlighter!
Spellbound looks really unique, but it reminds me of previously swatched NARS Party Monster?

BTW, I love this swatching-all thing – now visiting your blog is not only a fun, it’s also a MUST for me.

Are you planning to add more brands to temptalia saga? Bobbi Brown or UD maybe?

I have both Spellboun and Strada and they are very similar in colour, but Spellbound has WAY better colour payoff IMO. An Oyster is gorgeous! I think I will have to check out Minx, Flirt, and Rapture now too!

Christine, I’m really happy that you’re doing Smashbox swatches! It is one of my favorite cosmetic lines. Thanks!

From this batch of swatches I only have Brazillian Bronze, but it is a really gorgeous bronze color!

Just in case anyone was wondering…these shadows can be depotted (although the process is more complicated than MAC shadows) and they fit into the MAC palette slots.

I like that you’re doing reviews, etc. on other brands than MAC (with swatches!) because on my own I probably wouldn’t bother looking in to them. It really opens my eyes, and is maybe on its way to creating a few lemmings!

Thanks Christine. You’re so awesome and helpful!!!! 🙂
If they would only change their packaging to user-friendly flip-top lids.

Thanks Christine! This was really helpful; after seeing your swatches I went to Sephora and some of the colors really are better in person!
