Sleek Makeup Antique & Rose Gold Blushes Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Sleek Makeup Antique Blush ($6.99 for 0.27 oz.) is a subdued, plummy brown with soft, warm undertones and silver micro-glitter over a more satiny finish. It had excellent color payoff with a soft, smooth, and blendable consistency that sat well on the skin without emphasizing pores. The micro-glitter isn’t too detectable unless you’re looking up-close in a mirror, and a lot of it seems to disappear between the pan, brush, and face. On me, this shade lasted for nine hours before fading slightly. NYX Taupe (P, $5.00) is less shimmery, cooler. MAC Earthshine (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker. MAC Plum Foolery (P, $21.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler. Giorgio Armani Light Rose (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer. Chanel Accent (84) (LE, $45.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Crazed Imagination (LE, $21.00) is darker. Surratt Beauty La Vie En Rose (P, $32.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Animal Instincts (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, lighter. MAC Corol #2 (LE, $21.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Lavish Living (LE, $27.00) is more shimmery, cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Sleek Makeup Rose Gold Blush ($6.99 for 0.27 oz.) is a warm, medium pink base color with a mega-ton of frosted, gold shimmer. The pigmentation was rich with a very soft, buttery texture that was so soft that it was almost crumbly if you weren’t careful. I had better luck applying in sheerer layers. The higher shimmer content in the finish did emphasize pores to a moderate degree when applied. It wore well for eight hours before fading. Tom Ford Beauty Pink Sand (LE, $65.00) is less shimmery. Too Faced Who’s Your Poppy (LE, ) is less shimmery, warmer. Too Faced Something About Berry (P, $30.00) is less shimmery. Tarte Glisten (P, $26.00) is warmer. bareMinerals The Natural High (P, $22.00) is darker, warmer. Guerlain Blush G (LE, $65.00) is less shimmery. Charlotte Tilbury Love Glow (P, $40.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Giorgio Armani Eccentrico (LE, $88.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Guerlain Peach Boy #2 (P, ) is less shimmery, darker, more muted. MAC Springsheen (P, $21.00) is less shimmery. NARS Orgasm (P, $30.00) is lower quality, more shimmery. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Formula Summary: Sleek Makeup Blush ($6.99 for 0.27 oz.) is supposed to be “ultra long lasting” and “highly pigmented.” My experience with their blush formula has been true to both; they’re intensely pigmented and a little goes a long way. The powder’s texture is soft, smooth, and blendable on the skin. The finish varies from shade to shade, so some are more luminous while others can be very frosted and metallic. On my normal-to-dry skin, they last between eight and nine hours on me.

I’m not a glitter fan but that rose gold look fabulous on you, Christine. I wonder if there is any place in Canada that sells Sleek?

Both look really nice! I have dupes that you listed and it never ceases to amaze me how different many things look in the pan prior to application, but I think you nailed it well! Both are quite flattering! 🙂

Yay Sleek!!! I hope you do more blushes because I’d love to have them in the swatch gallery . I own both of these. Antique is hard for my fair skin to pull off but it’s a great blush. Winter nights I can rock it. Anyone can wear Rose Gold.

Ginny Avatar

Usually a burgundy eye, like from Sleek Sunset or Vintage Romance palettes, in fact! If not that then a warm brown smokey eye. If I tried to pair it with a cool eye I’d really look like a zombie. Hence its best for fall or winter. I can throw a little Mary Loumanizer over it to warm it up too.

I have the dupe Surratt La Vie En Rose, and it’s the most natural-looking blush on me,probably HG – this Sleek one looks browner but same color range. Rose Gold looks totally stunning, but I can only wear it on a “good pore day”. I have the Too Faced Everything Nice Palette, and there’s a shimmery gold highlighter in there called Inner Light – if I mix it with a peachy pink blush, I can get a dupe for Rose Gold

“NARS Orgasm (P, $30.00) is lower quality, more shimmery” that’s the honest review you can get! !
Love sleek blush and love your review.

I remember swatches Sleek’s blushes and thinking they seemed surprisingly nice – good to know we have some good budget-freindly options in the UK :D.

Though seriously I am *so* jealous of those in the US about brands like colorpop – the stuff you’ve reviewed looks so gorgeous!

Sleek has such great blushes. I love Rose Gold. I don’t have Antique, but it looks gorgeous. The only bad thing is the pans are so thin, you can’t really de-pot them. At least I haven’t been able to without shattering the blush.

Plurabelle Avatar

I suspect the reason they’re hard to depot is that the glue is very strong rather than the pans being thin. The pans are no thinner than most blushes, and in fact I think they’re probably thicker as they hold 8 grams of product compared to NARS’s 4.8g, for example, which has a similarly-sized pan.

Rachel R. Avatar

Thanks for your help, Plurabelle. Perhaps “thinner” wasn’t the right word. I don’t think it’s the glue, but I could be wrong. I’ve de-potted a lot of stuff from a lot of brands, and the Sleek blushes do seem like they have the very flimsy aluminum pans that some inexpensive brands use. NARS’ pans are made of a stronger metal. I’ve tried heat methods with both an oven and a soldering iron, and the glue seems to get softened up just fine. The pans release. I just find the pans tend to bend without the plastic casing to support them, so the product cracks when I move the pan.

Anyway, I gave up on de-potting Sleek. If anyone has had any success and has some tips, I’m all ears. They’re so great though, I don’t mind not being able to de-pot them.

Antique is lovely! And right up my alley, too! And Rose Gold DOES remind me a whole bunch of TF Pink Sand, perhaps enough to give it a go, although I DO worry about it emphasizing my pores.

Veronica Avatar

Huh, I thought Antique would be a lot browner when I saw it in the pan, but it’s quite pretty. Not something that would likely work on my skintone but lovely on yours, Christine.

Malia Avatar

Wow I love this matte lipstick on you! The blushes too! I have all of sleek blushes, I love them soooo much and they work so well on me. I actually like these singles better than the palettes with three in them though

Sarah Avatar

I have the Rose Gold Blush by Sleek and I truly love it. It just gives me that healthy look and completes my make up. However I wish sometimes it had less shimmer but I still love it. I couldn’t buy the Nars Orgasm Blush (they don’t sell Nars in Germany anymore) so I heard that this Sleek blush is a good dupe and I’m impressed you said Nars Orgasm has lower quality?! No need to buy it then for me 🙂 Antique looks very beautiful too but I’m pale and I don’t know if it would suit me that much.

I’m soooo happy to see you review some Sleek products! I love them and own quite a few of their blush singles and palettes. Including Rose Gold. It’s way too shimmering for me to wear as a blush, but it looks lovely on my NW50 skin as a highlighter!

Laura Avatar

Bit of a late comment, but I was wondering how Antique compares to the BeneFit boxed powder in Dallas? Because it looks really similar, and I LOVE the colour of Dallas, but not so much the price.
I bought Rose Gold when my Orgasm blush shattered, and I haven’t looked back. Beautiful colour, and I hardly notice a difference to the NARS. I LOVE Sleek!
