Revlon Sorbet and Wild Watermelon Colorburst Lip Butters Review, Photos, Swatches
Revlon Sorbet Colorburst Lip Butter
Revlon Sorbet Colorburst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is a cool-toned, fuchsia pink with a luminous finish.
NARS Jardin des Plantes is brighter, redder. MAC Lickable is similar in color. Guerlain Champs-Elysees is brighter, more pigmented. Revlon Raspberry Pie is a bit darker, less bright. Revlon Lollipop is less red, not as bright. See comparison swatches.
Wild Watermelon Colorburst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is a brightened, medium-dark coral-red with a luminous finish. There’s surprisingly little warmth in this color–there’s some, but it doesn’t turn orange. Maybelline Shocking Coral is brighter, more opaque. MAC Fusion Pink has an iridescence to it. Guerlain Rouge Sensuel is more orange. See comparison swatches.
Both shades had buildable color coverage that ranged from semi-sheer to semi-opaque. There’s a noticeable translucency, which is as expected for the formula (they’re not designed to be full coverage), so the natural lip color will come through. If you have naturally redder lips, I expect both shades will appear redder as a result. The consistency is lightly creamy with a fair amount of slip, so they feel more like a lip balm than a traditional lipstick and feel that way, too. They will slide around the lips somewhat, but I don’t have issues with the color fading or feathering–mostly that the wear time is on the shorter end. Sorbet lasted three and a half hours, which is good for a Lip Butter, but short for shades like this (normally, I’d get five to six hours). Wild Watermelon lasted three hours. They were lightly hydrating but only while worn.

both look gorgeous on 😀
Thank you! xo
Have had Sorbet for a while – love it! Also have Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade. Don’t really care for Pink Lemonade, except as a layering color. Juicy Papaya is beautiful though! Just ordered Wild Watermelon.
I couldn’t even find this collection near me whatsoever, but Muse hooked me up with three (no Juicy Papaya, unfortunately!).
I really like Sorbet. I keep seeing this color on various blogs and on YouTube.
I thought the four lip butters from the summer collection were going to be permanent. In some stores they have placed them in the mix with all the other ones.
It’s always really confusing – usually unless I hear definitively that it’s permanent (which is usually signified by ALL online retailers carrying them), I go with LE. Better LE than permanent and finding out they were LE!
I understand. It just made me nervous because I really like the Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade. I thought I was going to have to rush out and get backups!
very pretty shades..gonna pick up sorbet 🙂
Enjoy!
Oooh, these are really juicy shades!
Haha! Yes, Colorburst Lip Butters could definitely be called juicy-looking!
I have both of these and I love them! I have a slight preference for Wild Watermelon, but Sorbet is definitely a close second favorite.
Do you like any of the other Lip Butters?
Hey! I absolutely LOVE all the colors from this line… one quick note. These colors are permanent. They are NOT limited edition. 🙂
Thank you!
I was lucky to be able to get all four and I have since seen these added to permanent displays in several stores. Target has added labelled slots for them with all the other Lip Butters; CVS has them in some locations but not others; Harmon’s seems to be making room for them in their permanent wall display. FYI I am in NYC.
That’s great news, Christina! I will keep an eye out for them being added here!
Wild Watermelon looks lovely on you, Christine!
Thanks, Catherine!
Well, I was going to pick up Juicy Papaya and Sorbet, but now your pictures and swatches have convinced me to get Wild Watermelon, as well! Thanks, Christine!
These are both gorgeous– think I will be making a trip to my local drugstore to see if they’re available!
They’re supposed to be perm, so hopefully they are!
I love Wild Watermelon!
It’s a nice pick for summer!
Both are gorgeous. I’ll need to try these when I go back blonde.
Definitely try ’em!
I recently picked up Cherry Tart and it’s a gorgeous red color. I really like the lip butters!
I dont know it just looks too pink for me.. :p
I have fair skin with cool undertones. Which colors on the Revlon Lip Butters would compliment my skin tone?
Raspberry Sorbet, Cotton Candy
HI! [: What colors of the Revlon Lip Butter Range would work best for tan NC45 yellow under-toned skin?
I think that Tutti Frutti would be lovely on you if you like orange/coral lips. I also think that candy apple or red velvet would be good options for you. Candy apple is a sheer wash of warm red and red velvet is a classy darker red. Hope that helps!
I feel that your dupes aren’t good enough. most of your dupes are limited edition so it doesn’t help much 🙁
Hi Ayesha,
I list as many as I can think of, but it doesn’t mean that it covers everything or that you will have a dupe that works for you (brand, price, availability). I always welcome readers to suggest their own if they have one!
