Revlon Rich Temptations CustomEyes Shadow & Liner Duo

Revlon Rich Temptations (030) Custom Eyes Shadow & Liner Duo ($8.99 for 0.20 oz.) is a palette that contains four eyeshadows and one eyeliner, though they’re all essentially eyeshadows, with one shade being particularly dark. It’s housed in a pretty sleek black compact that flips open. The palette is very slim, which makes it great as a space-saver in makeup bags, and it should be sturdy enough to tag along with you.

Inside, there is a deep, dark purpled plum with a satin sheen; muted grayish green with a soft, satin sheen; pale, warm beige with a soft, frost finish; medium-dark red-toned plum with a satin sheen; and a pale, dusty pink with a soft, satin sheen. The green shade was a bit soft and would fade when applied, so the color payoff could have been marginally better there, but it was buildable. The other three shades were nicely pigmented, though.  The light pink shade was really sheer when applied, but I wasn’t able to build up the intensity at all. The texture of these was lovely, though; really silky smooth with a softness that enabled the powder to apply well to the eye and blend effortlessly with each other.

Hi Chistine. The colors seems to be quite decently pigmented at that price range… will definitely check them out if there is a chance. By the way, any idea if Revlon plan to launch them in the Asia region? thanks.

yup! they’ve been in HK for ages! btw, christine, if you have time, could you please try a look following those instructions? i’d love to see how they blend and work out together before i go for it…=P thanks!

I was thinking this would be great for green eyes, too. If I see a good deal on Revlon at any of the drugstores in my area, I’ll pick this palette up. 🙂

Looks great! I love Revlon products. Unfortunately I don’t purchase a lot of drugstore makeup because a lot of the time you can’t sample or return it. And Revlon is soo expensive in Canada. I use the Colourstay foundation, and at Shoppers Drug Mart it is sometimes 21.99! This palette will probably be much more expensive as well 🙁

Your problem is definitely that you’re shopping at Shoppers Drugmart. I’ve seen up to a $10 price difference between Shoppers and Walmart on beauty products.

I don’t know where in Canada you are, but I’ve seen these palettes for about 13 bucks at Walmart! Also at well.ca they’re $11.99!! (plus free shipping to Canada, yay!)

Steph Avatar

Yep, you nailed it, Shoppers Drug Mart in the city! There isn’t a Wal*Mart nearby, takes at least 20 mins to bus to one, but there is a Shoppers next door.

Shoppers Drug Mart in Toronto area has this on sale for 9.99 June 11 to 17. Just saw the flyer last night. This palette is the pic in the flyer. Go now!

Shoppers Drug Mart is such a rip off (it was 17.99 for the new Cover Girl Gloss Balm there and they recently dropped the price. That green sknny thing…SRSLY?!?!). London Drugs can be a rip off too for Revlon and other brands, though they occasionally go on sale for cheap (<$6, depending). Like the other girls have said, Superstore is a good bet and Wal-Mart, too.

Here in Mexico this palette is almost 7 dollars more expensive than in the US…and to make things worse, sometimes these kind of prettier palettes are only sold at certain stores, not at Walmart, for example, where prices are more reasonable. Drugstore makeup is not cheap here, so you can imagine how expensive department store makeup is! And there are no return policies either!

Usually just one pass of color, but the whole point is really to show how pigmented it is in one pass. Just like when you apply it on your eye, you shouldn’t have to go back for more and more unless you started off with a tiny amount and wanted to build up, you know?

Gina Avatar

That’s so weird! When I bought this, all of the shades except for the “liner” were really, REALLY hard, and nothing but chunky colored dust came off when I touched them, that wouldn’t meld with my skin. Maybe I just got a bad palette?

I really like this, especially the price. I’m so tired of buying MAC quads and getting terrible color pay off. I don’t know why they don’t have the same pigmentation as the single shadows.

These palettes have caught the eye of the knitting world w/the knitted fabric imprint.

I do like this palette as well as Naturally Glamorous. Both nicely pigmented. But the Sweet Innocence palette was a big disappointment w/hits sheerness & chalkiness.

I wear green with my purples a lot (and sometimes yellow), so this is a combo I see on myself a lot. But I have to go to 2 different pallets. Having this would mean traveling mucho easier!

I have to go pick this up! I’m always so impressed with Revlon’s eyeshadows. They’re typically better than more expensive brands!
