Revlon Plum Velour Super Lustrous Lipstick ($6.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a reddish plum-berry with a luminous, lightly glossy, sheen. Marc Jacobs Seduce Me is brighter, more opaque. Too Faced So Berry Sexy is similar but less shiny. Illamasqua Magnetism is darker, redder. Revlon Berry Couture is lighter. Revlon Sorbet is brighter, pinker. See comparison swatches.

It had semi-opaque color that noticeably tinted and colored my lips but had a lightweight, somewhat translucent appearance so the natural lip color still came through. (If you have naturally redder lips, this may look much redder and less berry on you!) This particular shade is of the “Shine” finish variety, so it’s not quite the same as other Super Lustrous shades if you’ve tried them previously. It is supposed to have buildable color, which is does, and a “moisturizing shine,” which it is. It’s not as hydrating as a balm, but it is nicely moisturizing while worn (but it doesn’t add back a lot of hydration if you start with dry lips; instead, it helps to maintain). The one area this fell short was in wear; because it has such a thin, emollient consistency, it just doesn’t last all that long on, so it wears away in three hours or less.

That’s pretty on you. I would be over the moon if you started reviewing a lot of the SL line. It’s such an amazing line and that feature would be a great addition to the budget beauty section of this blog.

Ooh I love the berry color, but I have Revlon’s Raspberry Pie Lip Butter which is similar in color, I think (maybe a bit darker and pigmented).
The lip butter is thicker while this lipstick is not heavy.

This new “Shine” Super Lustrous line’s formula is more lightweight than the other SL types and doesn’t last that long.
But I own Lover’s Coral, which I like a lot!~ ^^

I had this lipstick in my hands today and I put it down. Pretty color but not feeling the short wear time. Might still get it since I believe Walgreens has BOGO on Revlon this week.

Is there any way to find out what these contain? Where I am they’re not sold in packaging that includes an ingredient list and I couldn’t find the info on the Revlon website. It’s more curiosity than anything.

Agreed. It looked different on me as well–more purple. I actually returned this–it doesn’t fade evenly on me like most lippies do. Patchy lip colors are the worst.

AGREE! I bought it because of the swatches here, but it is much more of a brownish plum shade on me 🙁 I am looking for something that is a sheer version of MAC Rebel. Any suggestions? Would be nice to to have to take the time to sheer out that lipstick if I could find something that’s the same but sheer. The closest I have is probably Revlon Raspberry Pie lip butter but I’d like something a bit more sheer / everyday wearable that is the same color/tone as MAC Rebel. Any suggestions?
