Revlon HD Fire Opal (560) Ultra HD Lip Lacquer
Revlon HD Fire Opal (560) Ultra HD Lip Lacquer ($8.99 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a bold, brightened medium red with warm, orange undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It was intensely pigmented with full color coverage that applied beautifully and evenly. This shade wore for almost six hours, but there was very light feathering after four and a half hours of wear (and I am not prone to feathering). Shiseido Lust (RD305) (P, $25.00) is sheerer. Laura Mercier Poppy (P, $25.00) is redder. Illamasqua Touch (P, $22.00) is more shimmery. Maybelline Signature Scarlet (020) (P, $8.99) is slightly redder. Revlon Fire (P, $7.49) is a smidgen darker, not quite as orange-toned. Illamasqua Temper (P, $22.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Revlon HD Rose Quartz (530) Ultra HD Lip Lacquer ($8.99 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is medium, rosy red with lighter pink shimmer and warm undertones. It’s an interesting shade that sometimes looks richer, and other times, lighter, due to the contrast between the base color and color of the shimmer. It had a very smooth, metallic finish applied. The consistency is slightly tacky after an hour or so of wear, and the gloss lasted for five hours all in all. It was fully opaque on me. NARS Risky Business (P, $26.00) is similar in concept but so much sheerer. Chanel Friandise (82) (LE, $27.00) is sheerer. Dior Paradise (732) (P, $29.50) is sheerer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Revlon HD Strawberry Topaz (535) Ultra HD Lip Lacquer ($8.99 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a brightened, medium coral-pink with very fine gold pearl–the gold shimmer is subtle and isn’t noticeable from afar. It had nearly opaque color coverage that went fairly evenly and smoothly. The texture was slightly thick, lightly tacky to moderately tacky (as it wears), and lasted for five hours on me. Marc Jacobs Beauty Gone Bad (216) (P, $28.00) is more orange, less shimmery. Dior Rose Tricheuse (669) (LE, $35.00) is more muted, less shimmery. Hourglass Muse (P, $28.00) is brighter, less shimmery. NARS Paris Follies (LE, $26.00) is more muted. MAC Drawn in Chic (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Paint It (202) (P, $28.00) is lighter. Revlon Papaya (P, $7.49) is more muted, lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Oh my goodness, I’m dying to try Fire Opal now!
It’s pretty!
Topaz looks gorgeous on you Christine! Glad that the formula is great too!
Thank you, Divya!
Rose Quartz is so awesome. My #1 pick from the line so far.
Love how pearly smooth it is!
I rarely every wear lip gloss, but this range is tempting me!
It’s almost like lipstick, LOL! At least, in terms of pigmentation 😉
The Rose Quartz and Strawberry Topaz are calling my name…and I don’t even like lipgloss!
Crazy ;D
Holy mother of Strawberry Topaz! I’m in love.
😀
Strawberry Topaz is on my list to get. It’s a bit more intense but similar to Strawberry but that one had sliver shimmer.
It is a pretty shade!
Christine, if you haven’t already, I hope you do get a chance to pick up Garnet. It’s gorgeous!
Thanks for the rec!
I have Garnet and it is gorgeous! Looks like a HE gloss at a fraction of the price.
Strawberry Topaz is killing me.
Aww!
Strawberry Topaz looks really pretty! And the shimmer in it is so subtle that I can deal with it 🙂
Yayyyy!
I’m going to end up with a decent little collection of these. Rose Quartz and Strawberry Topaz are going in my cart.
Nice!! 🙂
I’ve been trying to like these; I have the strawberry shade and the beige one (I forget the name). But I think the combination of the terrible applicator (seriously, why would Revlon make their applicators worse?!) and how thick and opaque the gloss is, but I just can’t wear them. A lot of the gloss bunches up in weird places on my lips and I can’t even it out. And that just makes me sad because the colours are really nice and it looks lovely on you. What’s your secret for applying these evenly? I’m thisclose to just giving mine away 🙁
Perhaps applying too much? I know some readers have suggested using about half of what is actually on the applicator for one application (obviously, all of that depends on the size of your lips!).
Christine, how would these lippies look on 58 year old lips? Are they too glossy for my age?
I’m probably not the right person to ask, since I think one can wear whatever they want, no matter the age! So… I would say to go for it if they appeal to you!
Thanks Christine. They’re affordable and I can always return it. I think it was Bobbi Brown that said older women shouldn’t wear gloss.
I think glossy/shinny things, w/o shimmer look great on everyone.
I heard that very frosty stuff isn’t that recommended as an eyeshadow or highlighter on older skin…it could go for lips, too, but it depends….some frosty lip stuff highlight every flake and line even on young lips, some are ok. :))) in this case, when compared to strawberry topaz, rose quartz highlights the lines a bit, but it’s still good, i think. I guess subtle shimmer, like in strawberry’s case or none would be better 😀 I prefer those on my cracked lips, hehe(though even some of those pool in the lines). I guess the fire one wouldn’t be ok cause it feathers.
Fire is so stunning on you! I love the orange undertones. I’m thinking that it could look really nice on my pale skin, so I just might have to pick this one up on my next trip to the drugstore.
Thank you, Audrey!
OMG, that Fire Opal is stunning. I think this just got added to my must-buy list!
Awesome! Keep me posted on how you like it.
Omg I NEED Fire Opal and Strawberry Topaz! They look so beautiful on you.
Fire Opal will be gorgeous on you!
Thanks so much for the reviews! I’ve already grabbed 4 of these on sale (Garnet, Carnelian, Petalite, and Smokey Quartz), and I’m loving them! Petalite is kind of light for me, but I layered it over a nude lipstick, and got Angelina Jolie lips 🙂 And I just grabbed Straweberry Topaz and Rose Quartz today, Walgreens was having at sale at only $6.99 each. Woohoo! So happy to get such great glosses at such an affordable price.
Wow, Topaz and fire opal is sooo prettyyyyyy <3
Holy smokes! Revlon really got this one spot on!
I just bought Rose Quartz last week but haven’t tried it yet. I’m going to be all over Strawberry Topaz! It’s warmer than I thought I could pull off when seeing it in the tube but now that I see it on you, I’m going to try it because it’s too pretty not to buy it.
Oh my gosh, Fire Opal looks so luscious!
holy… i love all 3 of these
Ohhh Rose Quartz is sooo beautiful! So pearly! Definitely going to get that one when these come to Australia.
Add rose quartz and strawberry topaz to my list!
All of these look fabulous on you, Christine. I really like Rose Quartz!
Oh my, but these look great, although I already know that Fire Opal is out of the question for me because if it feathered on you, Christine, I don’t even want to know what sort of hot mess it would turn on my much older lips!!! However, Rose Quartz, and *perhaps* Strawberry Topaz will be coming home with me my next trip to Ulta!
Hope Rose Quartz is a winner for ya, Nancy!
Bright, sparkly, good performance, and affordable? I’ll be getting a few of these.
Hope you love ’em!
Oh my goodness, I think that Rose Quartz just made it onto my Most Wanted list.
😀
My Walgreens, CVS and local grocery stores do not stock these – I am still on the hunt! Next stop, Target.
I hope they get them soon!!
They are pretty 😀 Even the frosty one 😀 I think the last one is dreamy 😀 haha, and i love orange reds.
Speaking of very pigmented glosses, I got some cheap “no name” ones that are veryyy pigmented, exactly like a high coverage lipstick, lol. And they last quite a bit(for me…cause nothing lasts long anyway). It’s weird cause this kind of stuff usually isn’t that good, but they’re an exception. I love opaque glosses-liquid lipsticks 😀 and these are not dry at all, nu gross taste(but other brand’s ones i tried do have a gross taste, sadly…i got a very bright orange red w a nice formula…never worn it).
Phew! 😀 These have such impressive pigmentation!! I can’t wait til they make it to our shores and I can have a little swatchathon ^_^ LOL, see you again in July next year for that, if we’re lucky…
I also love how they’ve been so good about the mineral names, but they just had to mention strawberries in there somewhere (unless a strawberry topaz is an actual thing?!)
Strawberry Topaz looks like what Gina does on me. Ugh! Well done, lovely review! Thank you!!
I have Rose Quartz – love this gloss!!! Pigmented and packs a real punch!!
I recently bought the strawberry topaz. The color is wonderful, the lacquer just doesn’t want to seem to stay on my lips even if I do nothing. Love it for the price. Hate that it isn’t long lasting.
Do you think maybe you’re over-applying? Sometimes applying less will help it last longer!
