Revlon Fire & Orchid ColorBurst Lipglosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Revlon Fire ColorBurst Lipgloss
Revlon Fire ColorBurst Lipgloss

Revlon Fire ColorBurst Lipgloss ($7.49 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a vibrant, bright red with warm, orange undertones and a cream finish. It was fully opaque on the lips, and it had a lovely, high-shine finish. The consistency wasn’t sticky, not too thick or too thin, and applied evenly without settling into lip lines. It wore well for four and a half hours. I couldn’t think of anything truly comparable to this in terms of opacity and finish. NARS Hollywoodlawn (LE, $26.00) is sheerer. MAC Totally Fab (LE, $20.00) is shimmery. Chanel Exces (P, $32.00) is sheerer. See comparison swatches.

Revlon Orchid ColorBurst Lipgloss ($7.49 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a neutral-cool, light-medium pink with lots of lighter pink and pale gold shimmer. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a high-shimmer finish–almost frosted but the shimmer is fine enough that it doesn’t reach full-on frost or metallic. It had the same lightweight, comfortable, non-sticky texture.. It wore well for three hours. L’Oreal Pucker-Up Pink (LE, $7.99) is less shimmery. Urban Decay Trashed (P, $19.00) is less shimmery. NARS Candy Says (LE, $26.00) is similar. MAC Floating Lotus (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches.

Fire is spectacular on you. Definitely one of my favorite red lipglosses it looks so high end too. Wow! I will be scoring that one.

Christine, that red colour is simply stunning on you! It really suits your skin! And congrats, you’ve created a lemming! 🙂 Now to find out it’s only available in the US.

i need to find words to praise you everyday …. how come you always look “SMASHING” in every lip shade ?
not an exception , you are rocking both the shades but I would go with Fire and guess it would be great companion for my fire and ice lipstick from REVLON 🙂
hats off for your dedication and keeping us glued with all the hard work and your reviews dear

I used to own Fire and loved it, but my preference for more matte or satin reds meant it didn’t get the road time it deserved, so I wound up giving it to my roommate. It’s by far one of her favorite shades, and looks stunning on her NW25-30 skin tone – though I think a red like this will work on anyone, as it definitely pulled more neutral on my cool, fair skin tone. (BTW, Ardency Inn’s Long Play lipgloss looks like a potential dupe. Perhaps a bit more opaque and a touch warmer?)

I just bought Orchid a few weeks ago and adore it. Crystal Lilac was my go-to shade in the summer when I was NC/W15 and had lighter hair; now that I’ve gone darkest brunette and my skin’s headed toward NW10, I love Orchid as a no-brainer gloss for when I’m on the run and want to swipe something on. 🙂 On me, it tends to pull a tad cooler, almost mauve-y. Very pretty gloss! The Colorburst glosses are some of the best on the market, I think – one of the only brands I’ve finished tubes for!

Happy to hear Fire is working on her your roommate’s skin tone! Yep, Ardency Inn Original is similar in color – I didn’t include it since it is a liquid lipstick (I only compare gloss to gloss typically!), but if someone doesn’t mind the liquid lipstick formula, then that’s a possibility! (There are tons of similar lipstick shades, too.)

Any other faves from the range?

Veronica Avatar

Oh, I didn’t realize Long Play was a lipstick. It’s just so glossy! That makes sense why you didn’t include it. XD

From the permanent range, I also love Bordeaux (burgundy/berry) and Hot Pink (a must for anyone who likes their bold, sparkly pinks). I’ve heard Sizzle is the warmer counterpart to Fire, but it’s much less opaque. Crystal Ice is your standard clear gloss with a touch of sparkle, but it’s my go-to for glossing up lip shades. Crystal Lilac is a mauve pink and the first gloss I ever finished, though it’s more semi-opaque than fully so. 🙂 They also release some very beautiful shades in their LE collections, so I always keep an eye out for them. (If anyone can find the Gucci Westman fall collection, I highly recommend Adorned! It’s a stunning magenta shade.)

I agree that Fire doesn’t pull as warm on cooler skin tones–I’m pale and cool and it definitely looks like a neutral (if not cool!) red on me. In any case, it’s a really beautiful gloss for a lot of skin tones.

Orchid is the *exact* shade I’ve been looking for! I’ve been picturing the “perfect” shade in my head for a while, and this is definitely the closest I’ve seen. Thos is hownI end up with so many lip products; I buy the closest thing I see, but end up finding something *closer*, but never exact until I have some 20 or so similar shades, LOL.

The quality of these glosses continues to amaze me. I have so many of them already; I keep them around in purses and drawers “in case I forget to wear lipstick one day.” But me? Forget lipstick? Never! So alas, they rarely get used. Orchid is precisely the kind of shade I would buy, but never end up wearing.
