Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink Lipstick ($12.39 for oz.) is a newly-released formula that is supposed to have eight-hour wear with no-transfer color that has “vivid” color and a “naked-lip feel.” I’ll have full reviews, and while there’s a slim (nearly nil) chance of significantly thoughts than my initial impressions and first two shades I’ve worn, but…

If you do not like incredibly stiff, firm, tugging formulas that feel clingy on your lips, I’d avoid this at all costs. The lipstick bullet itself is painful to use, and it seemed prone to surface drying out, which just made it even harder to use each subsequent time. I had to swatch it on the back of my hand to get the product going before attempting to apply to my lips just to make it workable. Once on, they have a clingier feel, though they seemed only lightly drying overall (thus far).

Long-wearing… but at what cost to one’s lips?!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Too bad — these look like a cheaper attempt at MAC’s new Powder Kiss slim lipsticks, but the ease of using the Powder Kiss formula is part of the appeal to me. Now that drugstore lipsticks are so expensive, I’d rather pay a bit more for formulas like MAC.

Lol “At what cost to ones lips”. I’ll suffer for the beauty lol. Long wearing lip sticks are my jam. I love that they last without frequent reapplication. Most of the time though I end up using a moisturizing lip gloss on top of the lip stick. I try to find a lip gloss that lasts long too like Pat McGraft’s or MAC lip glosses. I thought Revlon was having financial trouble, surprised they are still releasing new products. Hope they stick around.

I honestly don’t understand why brands continue to to revamp formulas of amazing products only to make them subpar… When Revlon launched the ColorStay range in the early-90s, they released a beautiful lipstick formula that was semi-matte, lasted through an entire 8+ hour Waitress shift without needing to touch up even after eating, and was extremely comfortable to wear… They discontinued the lipstick after a few years, and didn’t bother to replace it for several more, only to do several reformulations rhat were all awful…
