Rant & Rave: Milani
Share: Tell us what you love and hate about Milani!
my answer: I love that they have an extensive color and product range available, but it can be hard to find the same variety locally (in stores). I think their packaging could be less bulky/more durable.
Love Milani products. Biggest problem is that you have to search high and low to even find the products. They rarely have any available in stores. The packaging could be smaller as they tend to be really bulky.
I love just about everything I’ve tried from Milani. The quality is very impressive for the price and they’re always coming out with cool new products. I also love that they’re WOC friendly. I just wish Milani was easier to find. It can be hard tracking down a display and when you do there’s a chance the store won’t carry a certain product. It’s especially frustrating with the limited edition collections
I like their products, just wish the smell wasn’t so strong on the lipsticks!
I love Milani but absolutely hate their bulky, ugly packaging. And I really, really hate the scent of their lipsticks. Fortunately, the new matte formula lipsticks don’t seem to have that problem. Prior to that, I have thrown out so many of their lipsticks because, as nice as the color and pigment might have been, the smell rendered them unwearable to me.
I agree with your comments about the packaging. Also I’ve been mislead by a few “shimmery” products that are just shimmery on the surface and under that thin layer of shimmer is a matte shadow. Love their blushes though!
I absolutely love their Eye Tech Extreme liquid eyeliner,it goes on easily and I can make a really thin line. It lasts all day, I compare it to my Stila Stay All Day liquid liner, it’s an affordable alternative. This is the only Milani product I own, so I don’ thave a rant. It’s readily available and affordable.
I love Milani, too bad we don’t have it here in Russia and I have to order online. I abosultely adore the watermelon scent of their lipstics!
I love the price, and they are pretty high quality and inexpensive. Also adore that they don’t shy away from bold colour. I hate how hard it is to get in Canada. They really need to amp up their distribution because they could do really well in the drugstore! I don’t understand it!
I love their blushes and the almond shadow eyez pencil/stick. I use it as my eyeshadow primer. I hate their packaging. I would prefer an eye shadow pencil that twists up. I also hate the messy displays at my local pharmacy.
It is SO hard to find their stuff in stores! I asked for some drugstore cosmetics for Chrsitmas from my MIL, thinking it would be a cheap and easy gift, and she had to go to seven different drugstores trying to find the Milani products. (They carried Milani products, just a really skimpy assortment at each store–not because they were overshopped, just because there seems to be no rhyme nor reason regarding how each location chooses to stock certain items.)
I love their lipsticks and the packaging, but I wish the Bella eyeshadows were smaller.
my biggest issue with milani is finding the new stuff… the stores i shop have milani but is the same old stuff & i never see anything new. I have to go to a walgreens to see new stuff but even that’s not a guarantee because they dont bring a lot in. as far as quality, i love their stuff. their lipsticks are a little drying but the blushes & powders are nice. the eyeshadows have been hit & miss but recently mostly misses.
What I HATE is that Milani isn’t available in Canada. About 8 or 10 years ago, a few grocery stores from a large chain here did carry a limited selection of Milani products but that was very short-lived. I wish they’d make inroads into Canada again.
I live in Alberta, and you can find Milani at Superstore here. If you live out east, it might be available at Loblaws?
In Ontario you can find Milani at any Walmart or superstore
Not any Walmart, just the GTA ones. GOD I wish my Walmart’s in the area carry the line. I’ve checked all the Walmart’s in the K-W and surrounding cities and none of them carry the line.
If you have a large Zerhs they might have the brand. And the Loblaws Superstore’s do have the line.
Rant: Difficult to find in stores. Even then, the collections are limited.
Rave: So far, I’ve loved everything I’ve tried. My favorites so far are the Bella Eyes gel powder shadows and the Rose Blushes. The prices are great for the quality.
I hate that they are in No stores near me and even on drugstore.com, they :good’ sheds are often not there or back ordered.
I love that they make good quality and nice shades at great prices!
I want to try more stuff, but they have such limited display space at the drugstores. And it’s even harder to track down their limited edition items. I think they have some great products and colors at very affordable prices, but they need to expand their distribution or shelf space.
The formula of the lipstick is great but the smell is so strong and horrible I can’t even use them 🙁
I love most that they’re cruelty free 🙂
I LOVE that Milani is cruelty-free; that’s very difficult to find in drugstores!
They also offer a wide selection of quality products in the bolder shades that I like, with some neutral “basics” in the mix.
I, like others, wish this brand were in more stores.
I haven’t tried a ton of Milani products, but my favorite product of theirs is definitely their Crystal Eyez line of sparkling eyeshadow. It’s a liquid eyeshadow, but despite that it blends super well over other eyeshadows without washing them away. It’s just enough glitter without being overpowering. 🙂
What kind of eyeshadows do you tend to layer the Crystal Eyez over? And what technique do you use to apply it? I have one in the shade Glamorously Glittering and while I love the shimmer, it washes away the eyeshadow underneath so I’m typically unable to use it. 🙁 Maybe I’m doing something wrong when it comes to application.
I absolutely love the brand, as the quality is there, and the pricing is fair. Everything I’ve personally tried from Milani has been a complete hit, and I have no complaints.
As for distribution/stock, I blame the retailers… Obviously the products sell, so it would make sense to expand the range, as well as keep the shelves stocked! In my local stores, Milani always seems to be the most picked over, while other brands stay stocked…
Love: Brilliant Shine Lipgloss. Lots of Shades and finishes. Also smells like cake 😀
Hate: Eyeliners. I know a lot people love them, I can’t wear them as they cause my eyes to water.
Rave – their lipsticks and their products
Rant – cannot get them in Australia! Only through international shipping which is expensive…
Rave: Lots of great quality products with decent colors and textures at great value.
Rant: Can be hard to find in-store; Wish some products were packaged/sealed better, and dislike the scented stuff–wish they did away with that.
I love their lipsticks and blushes, but their packaging drives me up the wall. On top of being bulky, for some reason, where I live, you often find that instead of just putting a seal on their powder compacts, they stick the whole thing in a cheap-looking cardboard-and-plastic container. I understand the need to do that for small products that can easily be stolen, like pots of gel eyeliner, but to put an already-bulky product in an even bigger package is an unnecessary waste of material. And for some reason it feels really…Dollar Tree.
I generally find Milani overrated. While I like some of the products I’ve tried, many others were just mediocre and I really didn’t fall in love with anything.
I love their liquid liners and blush colors. I hate their tendency to use glitter overspray, it disappoints me every time! I also dislike the fact that that occasionally a product will just randomly suck from out of the blue or some eye shadow shades in a line will be quite a bit less pigmented than others, that matte paint-like ES combo comes to mind…
Yeah the packaing can be a touch bulky. Their distribution seems to be limited to larger city areas. Walmart in the GTA carry them but I guess I should consider myself lucky that I have a new display at my local large Zerhs.
I love their blushes specifically Rose D’Oro. I have to agree about the packaging though, it’s a bit inconvenient/awkward.
