Rant & Rave: Liquid Eyeshadow
Share: Tell us what you love and hate about Liquid Eyeshadow!
my answer: I find it the hardest to work with, compared to cream and powder eyeshadows, so it’s never been a formula I reach for in my downtime. It’s usually sheer, dries too quickly, or never dries!
I love liquid eyeshadows! I’ve only tried the Josie Maran Coconut Water ones, but they’re lovely and very pigmented and after a few minutes!
I almost never use it. Maybe once a year… My eyes and eyelids are very sensitive to them, the liquid burns my skin sometimes. I stick with pencils.
I like it for washes of color, but I don’t find them particularly useful for heavier looks that involve blending. Boots No. 7 and Rimmel have pretty good formulas, though I usually abstain from using the built-in applicator. For hygienic purposes, I’ll take a synthetic brush and dab the color from the applicator, then use the brush to smooth it out over the lid.
I don’t think I realized liquid eyeshadow was a thing!
I’ve never tried them and I honestly don´t find them appealing – it would have to be a great color or something for me to consider getting one!
Rant: Crease too easily, even with primer.
Rave: You can get some really intense colors and finishes.
As a rule, I’m not a fan of liquid eyeshadow. If I do use them, it’s a really intense, unusual color on the lids only. My favorite is Hard Candy Eye Def Glitter Eyeshadow. I put them on the lids, and quickly smooth over with a synthetic, pointed, flat brush.
You know, I don’t think I’ve ever tried one! Cream is about as far as I’ve gotten… 😀 interested to see which brands others like though!
Someone already beat me to the punch but I also love the Josie Maran Coconut Water eyeshadows.
I don’t think I own any. Trying to remember if I have even tried one, and I think i haven’t.
I can’t even think of any liquid eyeshadow formulas right now!
I dislike how difficult it is to remove liquid eyeliner.
LOVE. Love, love, love. There’s something about the way most companies make liquid eyeshadows that makes them really last on my lids — which almost nothing ever does, cream shadows included.
I haven’t tried the new Josie Maran ones yet, but I loved the ones Laura Geller used to do, and the Spectrum (or something) ones that Sephora + Pantone put out last summer.
The only one I have are the Josie Maran ones and they crease like crazy on me (and nothing really creases on my lids) so I’m not actively and eagerly looking for new liquid shadows to purchase.
I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of liquide eyeshadows before.
I’ve never tried them, but I don’t know if I’d want to, tbh. I already am picky with cream shadows and prefer the more dense or gel-like ones, like Color Tattoos. If they’re really fast-drying and hard to blend, then I likely wouldn’t have a good time with them. 😛
I’ve never used them, but I think I would like to at least try. I really like cream eyeshadows, and using my powder shadows with a wet brush, but it sounds like the results depend on the product.
Well, only the fact that I can’t put it on properly .. lol.
