Rant & Rave: Highlighting Brushes

Highlighting Brushes
I don’t have much to rant about; I get a long well the most classic shape (tapered, moderately dense), so I don’t feel like I’ve ever struggled in this area to find at least a few to love and love quickly! It might be nice to see more variety in shapes and densities, though.

I probably shouldn’t even answer this question, since I don’t use anything that’s specifically called a “highlighting brush”…but I’m going to anyway! 🙂
When I do highlight, which is usually just for evening looks, the brush I use is Real Techniques’ micro setting brush. I only highlight my cheekbones, and it works just fine for that. It’s not supposed to be a highlighting brush, but it gets a rave from me!
I use that brush for highlight too! It should be called a highlight brush cause it’s the perfect size and density for highlighting! 🙂
I have a couple of the Wayne Goss Airbrushes and use those pretty much exclusively for highlighter and sometimes blush. I like how it applies highlighter and it isn’t so big that it goes everywhere. I can be pretty precise with it. It is flatter on one side which I feel really helps when blending my highlighter. No rants that I can think of unless you want to talk about the price of the brush? But, in comparison to a lot of high end brushes, his are pretty affordable.
As long as it’s not a super-cheap brush that’s scratchy or shedding, I’m fine with the usual type of HL brush. I usually just us the e.l.f. Highlighting Brush. I don’t care for using really small HL brushes or fan brushes for applying HL. Subtle isn’t usually what I’m going for. lol
Rave: I personally love the fan style highlighter brushes so that I can apply a thinner coat that is less likely to highlight any texture. Also, I make good use of a WnW GoT themed highlighter brush for certain more subtle or duochrome type highlighter formulas.
Rant: Cannot think of much, tbh! The only exception would be a highlighter brush that picks up and deposits a heavier amount of product wouldn’t be for me due to my texture issues with large pores, some fine lines up high on my cheekbones, and an occasional dry patch.
No rant here. I have several Wayne Goss Airbrushes, one is used to apply highligher, one for blush and another one for powder.
