I received this foundation in shade 0.5 as a gift. If I were shade-maching myself I would have chosen shade 1, as I have olive undertones (and yellow blends better with olive than pink does). Surprisingly enough, I can still get away with this--it's not as pink as most "porcelain" shades are. And the value (as in the lightness/darkness, not monetary value) is perfect for my vampire-esque complexion. Before receiving this, I felt pretty meh about it and had no intention of trying it out, although I am CONSTANTLY seeking my HG foundation. I figured this was just another sheer, dewy concoction not suited for my combination skin with plenty of issues to cover. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the coverage and finish. It does a great job evening out my redness in the cheek area and it doesn't emphasize my large pores. The finish is a lovely matte that isn't dry or dead looking. It did not do well on my flaky nose in the days after I got sunburned (oops), but I wouldn't expect anything to deal with that. Just FYI, I apply it with the little Tarte brush that comes with their powder foundation and it works beautifully. Overall, I like this much more than I thought I would and am considering buying it in shade 1 at some point.
