First off, I’m a Sugarpill lover! I LOVE their colors, the way they apply, and last all day and night. I especially love the larger size of their pans! Here, in the Fun Size Palette, you get 9 NEW colors in one small palette! It’s the size of their old 4 pan palettes, stays magnetically closed and is perfect for packing in your bag and traveling. The colors!!! What a delicious selection to choose from! I’m a huge lover of reds, purples, and pinks so this palette definitely works well for me. I love to do a sunset eye and these give you a softer neon version. These make beautiful bright liners. I love to use a darker color pencil eyeliner and then go over it with one of these. I definitely think you need a primer with these, since they are on sheer side, and to make application easier, and to prevent fading and rubbing off. They did rub off my hand with a tissue when I swatched with no primer. Stayed nicely on my eyes with primer. I use UD Primer in “Eden”. I prefer using natural hair brushes from Coastal Scents in BR-C-N01, and N02
My least favorite color is the odd yellow “Continue”, as it is not a soft clean yellow but a dirty yellow leaning a bit green. I swatched it next to Buttercupcake with amazing results (to me). Continue? when swatched on with paper showed a yellow base with a smudge of dirty brown/gold over it. Buttercupcake was sharp butter yellow with a faint orange tone, like a vivid Buttercup flower. I feel they should have lightened Buttercupcake for use in the Fun Size palette! How beautiful would that have been? This palette doesn’t need another lime green. It needs a soft neon yellow. The rest of the neons are clean and clear and this one just seems out of place. Level Up and Rage Quit are my top two, followed by Player One and 8-Bit, then High Score, which does not feel as smooth as the first four I mentioned. I wish Cheat Code was a bit bluer, since there’s no straight on blue in this mix.
If you’re a cute palette collector, you need this one. If you’re a lover of the different, this is a definite must have. I love Sugarpill ALSO for being made here in California!!! There’s no “Made in PRC” stamped on the back, hidden by the ingredients in tiny letters! You want your makeup made here, my friends, where it’s cruelty free. PRC means Peoples Republic of China. Forced labor and questionable ingredients in some confiscated and tested materials does not make for good makeup! I value a company’s values over their desire for big profit. Fair wages and a great product are worth more to me then mass produced palettes at low cost. Shrinkle has led this company in an awesome direction and kept it close to home and didn’t sell out to mass marketing pressure. Way to be, SUGARPILL!!!
