The formula is supposed to be a “gel-cream” that can be used on “the skin directly” or “added into” base products (like foundation or primer). It’s supposed to “build for the ultimate sheen.” That gel texture made it easy to spread without it sheering out immediately, but it also meant that one “pump” was far more product than one would need for spot highlighting (e.g. cheek bones, cupid’s bow, and so forth) and was more in line with what you might use to mix in with a base product.
There was a very subtle coconut scent to it, but it wasn’t particularly sweet and was more toned down compared to the Coconut Face Primer. I had no trouble blending this product out on bare skin, over liquid foundation, or patted over powder highlighter. It wore well for nine hours on me as a standalone highlighter, and it did not impact the wear of my foundation (I used it with Tarte and Guerlain).

Give your highlight a dose of skincare. Inspired by Marc Jacobs' love of coconut water and the glow of youthful-looking, radiant, well-hydrated skin, this gel-cream instantly lights up the complexion. Directly highlight skin or blend this concentrated luminizer with foundation and primer to transform them into illuminating elixirs. A little goes a long way: This gel highlighter builds for the ultimate sheen, and the sensual, golden-peach hue flatters all skin tones with warm radiance. It’s formulated with five forms of coconut and provitamin B5 to help hydrate and nourish skin.

I am a serious makeup addict and for some unknown reason only just recently tried this product. I had been trying for such a long time (maybe even years) to find a product to layer UNDER my matte foundation that would still glow through in a noticeable but also natural manner. The only one that worked at all for me was the Cover FX but that one you could see through foundation but it was just too much. Looked sort of like a disco ball. That's when I pretty much gave up on this dream. This is the one that I wish I had started with! It is AMAZING. I have light/medium skin tone and this product with just one small layer shows thru my matte foundation clearly and glows so naturally! It literally looks unbelievable. Not only that, but it functions as an excellent primer too. It feels great on my aging skin and also I noticed that my complexion issues are disguised with this as a base. It is just too good to be true and I will never be without it. Now that I said that, watch it get discontinued. I hope it never goes away. Best makeup product ever created!
