Dark Outsider is described as a "cream true black." It's a sheer, soft black. Applied, it's a sheer wash of color that darkens and mutes the natural lip color, but it does settle noticeably into lip lines. It's not a product that wears well alone. I've also included swatches of this applied over a red lipstick so you can see how it works. It wears less than two hours on me.
