MAC brushes are not cheap to purchase but the 217 really is a must-have real workhorse of a brush and worth the somewhat hefty price. It is great for an all over wash of colour; it adapts to work as a crease brush and it's hard to beat this one for blending eyeshadows for a smooth transition between colours and also to get the shape you want. A great brush. Don't be put off by the white hairs. A bit of baby shampoo or gentle foaming face wash gets it pristine again, time after time.

This brush is so multifunctional! I can't imagine anyone not being able to find a use for it. It's great for eyeshadow application, blending, concealer, highlighter, nose contouring, and other uses too that I can't think of. It's so soft and hasn't shed yet, which is pretty amazing considering mine is 2 years old and is used everyday.
