Laura Mercier African Violet is a moderately cool-toned, medium mauve with a sparkle finish. It is an eyeshadow that is permanent in these palettes: Holiday 2013 Artist Palette for Eyes, Spring 2014, and Art of Colour.
African Violet is a warm, plummy purple with larger gold sparkle and shimmer. It's part of the permanent range, and it's been included in past palette releases from the brand. It's an interesting shade, but it seems to have production issues; you'll see a lot of love it or hate it kind of reviews. This was the smoothest and softest version I've come across, but the shimmer separates slightly when you start to blend it on the lid still. It lasted for seven hours on me before fading.
