Editor's Review

The Ambient Lighting Powders breathe life back into the skin after you’ve applied foundations and setting powders–especially if you have more mattifying base products on. They’re not full-on highlighters, but they’re not exactly setting powders (by Hourglass’ definition, they are finishing powders).

If you have very oily skin, you may still need your usual setting powder, but for my normal-to-dry skin, the Ambient Lighting Powders work as a setting and finishing powder in one for me. I get extended wear out of my base products, but the powders also smooths the skin’s appearance, minimizes pores and imperfections, and gives the skin a natural luminosity (not shiny, not shimmery). It is that something extra that someone won’t see and go, “Oh, nice lipstick!” but “Did you... Read More.

The only negative I have to say about the products is that the texture is very, very soft, so depending on the brush you use, excess powder can be kicked up (and wasted).

Love this powder for setting concealer on med skintone, especially if it's mixed with incandescent light from same ambient palette and soft light finishing powder from ambient lighting edit mini.

If there were no glitter particles this would be perfect!

I have really enjoyed this finishing powder. It just imparts a naturally and subtle glow and finishes off the face in a really lovely way. It somehow melts into the skin and hides pores and fine lines without ever looking powdery or cakey. I bought this specifically to wear for my wedding, and I've worn it just about every day since I purchased it. The brand is expensive, and there may be less-expensive powders that function the same way. That said, I really do appreciate that a luxury brand has been so committed to remaining Cruelty-Free.

I love this finishing powder so much. I'm usually not pulled in by packaging, but the heavy plastic and gold/bronze feels really great in-hand, and makes me feel like it could take a fall. I love the finish it leaves on my skin; with just a little bit of powder, my face is luminous and natural-looking with just a little bit of warmth. Yes, it's pricey, but I also feel like there's so much product in here that it's going to last forever, even if I were to use it everyday. I'm interested in going back for Ethereal Light, also, but I don't think I will until I've put a serious dent in this one. I'm frustrated with myself for enjoying this product so much!

One of my faves. I love highlighters first of all. This is a great product for a more subtle highlight (to me anyway). Looks great in pictures, not too shiny at all. I LOVE IT

I bought this on a whim while visiting overseas, and while I do love this, I feel that this can emphasize large pores and fine lines despite the claims to blurring them. That said, it excels both as a highlighter and all-over finishing powder and it gives me the most natural, healthy glow.

How I wish this was available as a full-sized single product. I have it in the trio of powders and it is by far my favourite and one I would love to repurchase on its own, if only I could. This gives the prettiest, most flattering "lit from within" finish to my face when I dust it over liquid foundation as a setting powder. The sheen is subtle and flattering.
