Editor's Review

Giorgio Armani Rose Reflection (33) Eye Tint ($39.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a light-medium pink with warm undertones and flecks of gold pearl and larger glitter. It had sheer coverage in a single layer, but it wasn't buildable as promised, as additional layers resulted in patchy, clumpy, and uneven coverage and physical texture as the product thickened and felt heavier on my lid with more than one layer (three layers was uncomfortable!). The consistency was watery and worked easily for an all-over wash of product as it dried down quickly but not much more than that. It wore well for nine hours before it started to have noticeable fallout.

It's one of six new shades that was made to be "ultra-sheer" and "shimmering" that can be "layered repeatedly." I liked the concept--effectively a shimmery top coat in liquid format--but I found that the formula was far from being able to layer it "repeatedly" as it would clump up, apply unevenly, and was just exceptionally difficult to apply whether I used the included doe-foot applicator, fingertips, or a separate brush. I had the best luck patting the product on top of another powder eyeshadow but only in a sheer, single layer, and it looked prettier in person, at a normal viewing distance, and less-so close-up.

Claims / Ingredients

This innovative formula transforms from liquid to solid, instantly adhering to the eyelid while providing 16 hours of smudge- and crease-proof wear. Formulated with a hold booster, a creamy polymer with glycerine that allows pure color pigments to blend together seamlessly and stay on lids, this tint is infused with a color vibrancy booster, which is enriched with natural pigments and pearls. This unique complex works together to evenly disperse high-density color. This eye tint features dynamic runway-inspired shades that can be used as an eye shadow or eyeliner, or layer them together for natural to glamorous looks.

I know these got an F review as a shadow topper, but I actually quite like the color "Rose Reflection" by itself. On its own (over a bit of primer) it's a nice rose tinted glossy look with a bit of sparkle, I apply a dab to the movable part of my lid and then tap it out with my finger and then use a brush to blend out the rose tint in my crease. Then with a bit of liner and mascara it's a fresh but not overdone look. I'm not a fan of glittery eyeshadow but the sparkle in this is more of a mica than glitter so I really didn't have fallout.
