Ciate Pretty, Fun, Fearless Volume II Beauty Haul Makeup Set ($49.00 for 1.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette for the holidays. It includes 20 eyeshadows along with a full-sized liquid liner (not reviewed here), miniature-sized liquid lipstick, and mascara (not reviewed here). The eyeshadows are supposed to be "packed full of gorgeous pigment" and have "ultimate blendability and massive color payoff."
I had higher hopes for this palette, but there was a dryness present in several shades that made it a struggle to use, even when I tried a few of those disappointing shades over an eyeshadow primer (I even used a creamier one by Marc Jacobs Beauty). Some shades were lovely, but a lot of them were under-pigmented, needed to be built up, had fallout due to poor adhesion and binding, and were just generally far harder to work with than many other eyeshadow palettes at this price point.
