bareMinerals Hypnotist is a warm-toned, holographic with a glossy finish. It is a limited edition lipgloss that retails for $18.00.

Editor's Review

Hypnotist is described as a "holographic violet-peach." It's a color-shifting shade of pink that goes from pink to violet to coral. It looks almost like it's a pink flame. However, this only looks that way sometimes; it shifts other times to a pale, millky pink. It's a chameleon, and for that reason, I don't have dupes for this one. The formula was light-medium in weight, non-sticky, and lightly hydrating for the two hours it lasted. It had sheer color coverage, which is in line with how it's marketed (bareMinerals says it has "sheer, pure color").

I bought this on a whim. It was sold separately than the Holiday set that is reviewed. I agree with Christine's review that is doesn't last long on it's own. If I am going to be wearing it alone, I usually just apply a base like UD ozone or Too faced lip primer. It is very hydrating for me and looks really cool alone or over lipstick. It's thin. But it can be built up. I think the fact that it is thin helps it to not melt the lipstick underneath. It does make a holographic effect that so far I've not seen in any other product.

One of those unique products that I couldn't resist. It may look scary and possibly unwearable in the tube, but it's actually a very pretty peach with a little bit of a purple sheen in certain lights, when worn on bare lips. It looks especially interesting when worn over different lip shades since depending on the colour it will bring out the different shades in the gloss. I personally really like this sort of thing even just to look at, but from a practical point of view it really is a pretty gloss, and is definitely wearable.
