Prescriptives – The Seducers / 24-Hour Mascara – Review

I had the pleasure of checking out some products from Prescriptive’s Seducers (Fall 2007) collection, as well as their new 24-hour mascara.

First, a no-mascara vs. mascara comparison, so everyone can see the effects of Prescriptive’s latest mascara formula. Above, those are my pathetic au natural lashes – we can see why mascara is a woman’s staple, can’t we?

Below, you can see my lashes with 2-3 coats of the mascara on (no lash comb – so you can see everything about it). I find it gives me incredible length, but it doesn’t give me the fullness or thickness I usually want (which leads me to go after a fourth coat, uh oh!). The length, though, phenomenal – really false lash-esque. My lashes always seem to clump together, so it’s probably not a result of the mascara, more the result of my poor lash structure!

I like how the palettes come with two universal shades, a shimmery black and subtly shimmery white, and then you can pick complimentary colors based on your undertones. Both universal shades are pigmented, and the white would be a beautiful highlight color.

I found the lip color to be a very lovely, and very wearable, deep berry – think vampy, with a little more subtleness. It’s perfect for the fall, and I think it’s a great way to enter into the vampy trend without running full into it! Great texture – ultra smooth!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I have to get my hands on that mascara. So my style! And the word nerd in me loves that the lipstick is called “purple prose,” lololol…okay so I might be the only one laughing here.

What’s the finish of the lipstick? It looks a lil’ glossy in the pic.

I still haven’t found my HG mascara, but I haven’t tried many high end ones either.

LOL, I thought it was kind of corny!

It’s a shimmer finish 🙂

Hey! I just stumbled across this site by doing a little research on MAC’s Sculpt & Shape powder and started just looking around.. I love your site! Anyways, I must say: I own the Plush Lash mascara and I absolutely love it. I’m pretty anal about how my lashes look because sometimes it’s all I’ll wear for the day, so they need to look fabulous. Plush Lash definitely does it for me, especially with MAC’s fan brush (#205) which also works really well for me. So, those two things with my heated eyelash curler and two minutes to apply, and I’m good to go for the day! :o)
