Divine Rose

Pat McGrath Divine Rose Ultra Glow Highlighter ($48.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a light-medium, warmer pink base with peachy-gold shimmer through that was lighter gold to darker, peachier gold as it shifted in the light. The finish was luminous–shiny but not overtly metallic and had a soft glow that was more and more apparent when buffed and blended onto my skin.

The formula was a gel-powder hybrid, so it had a firmer, denser consistency that wasn’t powdery at all and almost “melted” in its finish against my skin, so it looked seamless. It worked best with moderately dense brushes, and it was hard to overdo since it wasn’t powdery. The powder itself was very smooth and finely-milled, and it seemed slightly more yielding compared to other gel-powder formulas I’ve tried in the past. It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly to my cheeks and stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

So I just jumped in and ordered this when it was released last week and I was really keeping my fingers crossed that it would have high marks, thank you for reviewing and rating it Christine! Looks beautiful on you ☺️

Hi Christine,
I finally joined your page. I believe I have been following you for years and never commented. I enjoy your comments and swatches, which helps me figure out what is best for my fair complexion. The new highlighter by Pat Mcgrath looks quite sparkly, how is it on pores? Also, can you see this as a eyeshadow?
Thanks so much Christine,
Keep up the great work!

It didn’t accentuate my skin texture in my experience, Joanne! It’s actually similar in color to Pink Mystique in the Eternal Eden quad 🙂

Since you’re from Canada, it would likely be safe to use on eyes, but the color itself is one we’ve seen through eyeshadow for sure!

Thank you!

This is the only thing I picked up from the launch since I already had the big palette and didn’t want the quad. I’m really hoping it looks okay on my light skin tone because I’m a sucker for a pink / gold shifting highlighter!

I would LOVE this if it were just a bit lighter. I love the pink and gold shift. I’m wondering if I could make it work as a blush topper. It is stunning!

This is pretty but I’m so enamored with the new Chanel peach duo/blush highlighter, that I’m satisfied right now, with using that one for a long long time.
It’s so pretty.
