Pat McGrath Divine Rose & Bronze Temptation LUST Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Divine Rose
Pat McGrath Divine Rose LUST Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a soft, medium pink with warmer undertones and fine gold pearl. It had good color coverage, though not quite opaque, and had more of a cream base that was slightly milky overall. There was a touch of color that sank into my lip lines, but it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It had a smooth, plush consistency that was comfortable to wear and non-sticky. This shade wore well for four hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$30.00/0.15 oz. - $200.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "multidimensional shine" with a "non-sticky texture" that "nourishes" with "exceptional adherence." The opacity ranges from "opaque to transparent." The color coverage really does vary quite a bit, but most of the shades I've tried are sheer to medium in coverage--the brand could be clearer on which shades are opaque.
The consistency has a smooth, lightweight texture that wasn't tacky and was comfortable to wear. For the most part, they didn't seem to sink into my lip lines, which can be a pitfall of gloss. I didn't find the wear time to be better than average--three to four hours--but the formula was moderately hydrating. There was a subtle vanilla scent but no discernible taste when worn.

When it comes to the longevity of a lip gloss, what length of time would get a score of 10?
It depends on what claim the brand makes – if a brand claimed 8 hours, then 8 hours would be 10/10. If they are silent on wear time, for gloss it would be between five and a half and six hours. All of this information is in the review FAQ, linked in the footer of every single page. I give average wear times I’ve experienced over the last 10 years of testing across types: https://www.temptalia.com/review-faq/ Hope that helps! 🙂
Thank you!
These are beautiful! I haven’t come across Pat McGrath in UK yet.
There’s a limited selection on Net-a-Porter UK & her site does ship internationally
Thank you for the review!
Can you speak a little on why these glosses got the grades they got? I felt like the reviews were so positive, and I can’t understand why “a bit” of color settling that isn’t visible from normal viewing distance would be worth marking something down to a B+. Plus the other color didn’t settle at all but only got a B, and I can’t find where it lost points anywhere.
Is it something to do with how flattering the color is on you personally? Is it cost vs quality?
All of the points are shown right on the rating scorecard: for Bronze Temptation, it shows product = 8.5 (this is out of 10), pigmentation = 8.5 (this is out of 10), texture = 8.5 (this is out of 10), longevity = 7.5 (this is out of 10), application = 4.5 (this is out of 5). Bronze Temptation didn’t wear that along, could have applied more evenly, and lacked opacity (because the brand only says “opaque to transparent” but doesn’t do a good job differentiating that or if there are shades that are actually in-between). There were only a handful of shades (like Aliengelic) where it was obvious that they were part of the “transparent” part of the spectrum.
I never rate colors based on how they look on me, and I do not include cost as part of the rating. You can read my review FAQ, which is linked in the footer of every page: https://www.temptalia.com/review-faq/ This details how I review along with detailed information on the Glossover rating system.
ah, i had no idea! Thank you thank you and sorry for the lazy reading. 🙂
No problem 🙂 It’s probably not standard for bloggers to have such a detailed review FAQ/policy, but we do, and rather than you know, restate it in full on every page, it’s on its own page for easy reference/updating!
Hi Christine I love love your eye look, looks so fantastic!
Thank you, Karen!
Both glosses are really pretty. Very summer-y colours.
I’ll have to sit down and think really hard about what I need/use most, and then try to get the list down to two, maybe three. I’m having a Pokemon thing going on when it comes to Pat McGrath. Going to catch them all. Not sure that is the actual wording, but I thing it’s close enough. 🙂
I’m a day late, but I figured I’d pop in to say that I really love Divine Rose! Super wearable, very comfortable looking shade. When I saw it last night, I wasn’t sure if it warranted $28, as it appears to be a shade that one wouldn’t have a hard time finding a DS/LE dupe of. After mulling it over, looking at its dupes, I think I made a wrong assumption about that.
