I am really looking forward to this release. I want to see how many gold shades she can cram into a large palette!! With a name like Celestial, I am sure there will be some. Unless it is something truly spectacular, I am not willing to shell out the huge amount of money that her larger palettes run, without there being something really unique and good quality.

J Avatar

I’m excited for anything PML except I do wish this wasn’t 2/3 repromoted shades (from the Star Wars mini palettes). I know it’s great for anyone who missed out on the Star Wars 6 pan palettes but I can’t help but feel a little disappointed by the use of repeated shades.

Jackie Avatar

So sorry to disappoint some but I’ve seen leaked photos & the majority of the palette are repeat shades …. they are repeats of BOTH Star Wars palettes … the dark star & the gold one …with only 6 new shades … honestly very disappointed as I already own the 2 Star Wars palettes … I wish she would’ve instead just re-released the two six pan palettes along with the 3rd one that’s all new instead of this … I do like the “new” shades but I can’t justify getting the palette as is literally be getting the 2 other SW palettes I already own … I really don’t understand why Mother Pat would do this ? It’s almost as if she’s running out of ideas …

Donna Avatar

Yes, I also on another forum saw the leaked photos, Jackie.

Totally agree with you. My first thought was, they look like shades from singles and other palettes. I counted 3 matt shades in the whole palette.

Jackie Avatar

Yes Donna … there are a limited number of mattes …but her formula is stellar and for those that missed out on the previous SW palettes this might be a good buy …I think she’s turning off her avid collectors or hardcore fans who purchase all her palettes …there is just way too much overlap … I’m definitely considering the quads and the highlighter

Tiffany Avatar

I will get it IF it really is $78- that seems crazy low unless they are dime-size as i only have the Rose palette (and some lipsticks). I think a PM fan likely has the colors and a non-fan has no interest in any of this. I think i may be the target: someone who thinks she has great stuff but that the price point is too high and wants a be-all palette like that.

Gabrielle Avatar

I know it’s probably disappointing for people who already own it, but for the many folks like me who tried and failed numerous times to get our hands on the ridiculously limited Star Wars collections, this was an absolute godsend! ? I almost screamed with excitement when I saw the news.

The launch of the Star Wars collection was an absolute trainwreck. It was plagued with problems, including missing VIP codes that were supposed to be sent to those who signed up for the early release. It screwed over a LOT of buyers, myself being one of them. I’m glad you got your Star Wars palettes, but this is a huge win for those of us who didn’t!

Kesha Avatar

If I’m not mistaken 12 of the shadows are from the 2 Star Wars 6 pan palettes that I’m sure she couldn’t rerelease in the same packaging they originally were in because that was a licensed release with Disney. This will satisfy those that missed out on the SW palettes and have been begging for them to come back for sure. The other 6 pans look similar to other shades in the past but can’t tell for sure. I’m thinking the price will be a bit more forgiving than some anticipate since the pans look smaller.

raja Avatar

I didn’t manage to get the two smaller SW palettes, but I’m honestly considering this bigger palette. I don’t care at all about SW, but the shades seemed lovely. I’m honestly more interested in seeing how the quads and the highlighter perform though.

Nana Avatar

I missed out on the Star Wars palettes but I will only buy this if the price is RIGHT. The cardboard packaging is not what we expect from PML for her larger palettes. As a die-hard Pat McGrath fan and collector of all her palettes, I am excited but a little hesitant.

brendacr1 Avatar

I have Halloween displays with her black sequins. I painted jars and glued the sequins on them for another project. I will be gluing some onto easter eggs for my easter display. I try to be creative with them because I didn’t just want to throw them away.

brendacr1 Avatar

Nooo! I just had an estimate for hardwood floors to be installed and I’m not going to be able to spend any money for the next 20 years! It’ll have to be something extra special for me to be able to justify spending money on eyeshadow when I don’t even go out anywhere any more.

Gaiya Avatar

I like the idea of 18 smaller eyeshadows vs the normal mothership but disappointed the colors aren’t anything unique. Im willing to keep an eye on swatches but probably won’t be getting.

Kira Avatar

Uh oh… Might want all the eye shadows here and the highlighter. I absolutely love the other quads and use them all the time.

I’m a little frustrated I have to rebuy the Star Wars shades to get the new ones, but maybe I will let go of my Star Wars palettes and give them a new home. The after market for those palettes are crazy and it’s nice that everyone will have a chance to get them. I have been surprised that the shadows I used most from the Star Wars palettes were the light pink, gold, and orange/copper shades.

Kira Avatar

After looking at this more, I think I will pick up the Risque Rose and Fleur Fantasia quads, because I think Interstellar Icons might be a bit repetitive of the Subliminal MTHRSHP Dark Star palette. I’ll need to see swatches and see if there’s enough of a difference. Of the new shades on the mega palette, the four at the top and the center potentially look like dupes of shades from the Subversive palette.

Also – the sight of all these totally reminded me of the Christine mock-up PMGL quads!

Jessica Avatar

I was sold at the 12 shades from the Star Wars palette. I wasn’t able to buy those palettes due to a combo of a no buy and them selling out super freaking fast. So while I get it’s annoying for those who were quick enough to get it, I’m over the moon about it. I’m hoping that the packaging change and the size of the pan will help it be a tiny bit budget friendly. The pans look smaller than usually but you never can tell so fingers crossed it’s not more than $250 ???.

Jessica Avatar

Nancy! It’s $78 USD, $103 CAD. She just posted the price point and swatches on her IG. Either the pans are teeny or the difference in packaging really cut the price. Either way, I’m getting it haha.

Mariella Avatar

I like the look of Interstellar Icons (from the photo – will wait to see about “real life”) but, really, that’s pretty much all I’d be likely to want from this collection. There are 2 or 3 shadows in the large palette that are lovely but I’ll settle for dupes if I can (I don’t want or need that large palette. The highlighter looks really nice but, again, it’s probably dupe-able (and might be too dark and warm for me) and I imagine the price is pretty steep (once it has been “announced”)

P Jill Avatar

The highlighter sounds interesting. I have the Star Wars palettes– and barely use them. The Celestial palette appears to be in her cardboard type packaging. I prefer the luxe black cases of the Motherships!! When I heard that the name of this release, I was really hoping that it was going to be more like the Mothership IV Decadence palette. 50% sure that its a pass for me.

BethPete Avatar

I like the brown quad with the pop of blue (I’m so boring) but I really need to see swatches and photos that don’t have the shimmering filter to know for sure

Tay Avatar

I for one am very disappointed in the big palette since 12 shades are repromotes. I feel lied too every time she says something is limited edition so we rush to buy for her to rerelease it again. Just be honest from the beginning. I’m a loyal mother pat fan but I can’t justify buying a palette for only 6 new shades. She should have released 3 6 pans for those who missed the Star Wars palettes and let us who already owned them a chance to purchase the new one. This was just deceitful and it’ll make me question when she says something is limited.

Christina F. Avatar

I don’t have either of the SW’s palettes, but I am very excited for this one. Rather than a money-grab, to me it looks like she is offering those of us who didn’t get them an opportunity to have them both plus more colors and an affordable (for PMG) price. I’m excited to get it!

IndigoBlue Avatar

I don’t have any palette by PMG, so I am really glad I will get this one at a price really lower than usual from this brand! I love shimmer and metallic eyeshadows, so Mega palette is just right for me… can’t wait to have it delivered home!

Jayme Avatar

What a disappointment. She should be creative enough to be able to come up with something new for what we are paying for her work. This is a total pass for me!

Meegs Avatar

This is a must buy for me!! By the time I got on Pats website for the Star Wars collection, those palettes were all sold out! Thank god they are in a more space saving design. I love the mini palettes but they take up so much space when you have a few of them. Love the colors too… Pat makes Pinks that black girls can rock! The only two palettes that had wearable pinks for brown girls were the ABH Alyssa Ashley and Jackie Aina palettes.

kjh Avatar

Your last sentence points up how much we need BIPOC creators and input into the color cosmetics as well as for base products. Well said; well reminded.

Meegs Avatar

I know.. that’s why I get so aggravated when I come in here and hear non POC complain that every Pat palette has a gold in it. It’s because gold looks good on black people… I have a neutral undertone so I don’t have that issue but every Pat gold is different but Pats gold always works. Like I love RiRI but I can’t wear Trophy Wife. Not a lot of black women can as many keep saying. Jackie Aina can’t, and Jackie can pull of everything. But Pat makes different golds that every black woman can make wearable. POC don’t have a lot of make up lines for us… we have to adapt into a non POC system of beauty. So when Pat gets that “why does she always have to put in so many golds?”…. it’s aggravating cause I can say “Why does Natasha denonas Glam palette have to be so ashy?” It wasn’t designed with me in mind so I keep minding my own business. But it’s the fact that Auntie Pat has to make all women happy but Natasha Denona, Viseart and Givenchy doesn’t that gets me.

TropicalCowgirl Avatar

I certainly don’t fall into a POC, but I struggle with lighter colors due to being somewhat mixed and the ash effect. I think her golds are fantastic and after playing with them, they really are diverse. I also avoid silvers and super light shimmers…the warmer, the better. To me, they end of washing me out.

I wish more people would experiment with her golds…the one in Bronze Seduction and single of Enraptured are my favorites. ND’s Bronze palette btw looks fantastic on darker skin tones. My friend who has similar coloring to Jackie but doesn’t normally wear shadow borrowed mine and looked amazing. But we also brought in a gold from her Gold palette for her look.

Also, Pat’s shadows double as blushes too. The red in Bronze Seduction makes an amazing blush as well as the pinks in her other palette’s.

katie Avatar

So AGREED!! There are a million shades of gold, bronze, warm platinum, and the differences are gorgeously highlighted on dark skin, even as small highlights! Ditto her rich pinks! Why take what makes her products unique and then complain about it?
Let people have things. If they aren’t for you then walk on by.
I am sure something will be released that will be an absolute dream on Light and Medium skin tones. I am not the least bit nervous that those skin tones won’t be catered to in Fall and Holiday releases.

I want the shadows, Blitztrances, pink lipsticks, and maybe the highlighter .
But I am NOT calling her “Mother”. I have a mother, thank God, and I think she’d be none to be pleased.

TropicalCowgirl Avatar

I wish I could do more pinks and dark reds on my eyes. At most I can do a bronze reddish/brick. It just doesn’t flatter me. And I tried after seeing others rocking the look. But these colors don’t go to waste…they make fabulous blushes. Her pan sizes are generous too which makes application amazing.

I definitely cannot do anything pastel…in makeup or clothing. It’s amazing how colors can look good on some but terrible on others. When it comes to colors, give me rich jewel tones any day.

LOL on the mother comment. I call a few friends “mama” but that is part cultural.

Jc Avatar

I think I’m realizing from your comment why I’m struggling with her colors so much. She hands down makes the BEST quality products and I have several limited edition palettes. However I’m a very light Hispanic (nw20/C3) and I feel like every color shows up way darker on me than they look in the pan. I’m used to the reverse happening. When I go to put on a shade that looks to be a highlight, it turns into a totally different color and contours instead of highlights. It’s like the underlying pigment brings out a richness instead of a reflection (ashiness on deeper skin). That’s great for the deeper end of the spectrum and much needed. I’m now thinking I might have to hold off on this and can only stick to the absolute lightest shades she has.

Christina F. Avatar

I’m very light skinned and LOVE her palettes! I can’t always use all the shades on my lids, but I can use most of them, and the ones I can’t, I can use to line.

Genevieve Avatar

This collection looks interesting and a little bit more diverse shades are being offered in the quads, particularly in the blue bronze quad. There is still a big love affair going with pinks and reds though in the larger palette. The sheer number of repromoted shades is becoming an issue with PMG’s palettes though. It is quite disappointing for her many fans if this is the case.

Hannah R Avatar

This makes me a little sad. The big 18-pan palette is beautiful but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to buy it if you already have the Star Wars Galactic Gold and Dark Galaxy palettes. You would essentially be paying a lot of money for just 6 eyeshadows. I know that a lot of people have been begging for the Star Wars 6-pan palettes to be re-released. Re-release those palettes separately and make the holiday palette all or mostly new shades. It’s just annoying to release a holiday palette that is mostly repromotes.

Meegs Avatar

But a lot of people didn’t get the Star Wars palettes though. It sold out in hours and the second time they release it, it sold out in 45 minutes. So if you did, you were lucky but that left a lot of people out in the cold. There are three brand new quads and now the bigger palette for the people that didn’t get the smaller ones. And it’s actually more affordable for the ones that missed out the first time because this is $78 for a combo of both and new shades instead of the $65 for each. I will buy this one but I’m still going to try to find the Star Wars ones because I am a fan. But there are three new quads so it’s not a miss for everyone.

Amy Avatar

Wow 18 shades, 6 of which were new, and STILL no space for a single silver but still more golds than anyone ever needs.

C’mon Pat, you’re going to gold yourself into yesteryear at this rate.

Swoozy Avatar

I do really like the Interstellar quad, although $68 makes my eyes water a bit. I was on the fence about the MTHRSHP palette, but ironically that at $78 seems practically reasonable for all of the variety (I didn’t get the SW palettes). I’m not sure if I really need that much purple in my life, but I’m on the fence about getting it.

Shawne Avatar

As someone who was very sad about missing out on both Star Wars 6-pan palettes, I’m thrilled at this release! But also understand the frustration of everyone who already had them. I like the quads too. Can’t wait to see reviews on all of it. Her launches are always SO STRESSFUL idk if I’ll try then or just wait for a restock and / or get it from Sephora.

swoozy Avatar

I think they are the mini size. I thought I read somewhere that they were half the amount of shadow in a regular PmG pan, which is 2g vs the 1g mini ecstasy.Based on what I use, I actually wish all of my palettes were half size.

Biljana Avatar

I’m not sure what I’ll pick up, if anything, but I am considering the mega palette, the blue/bronze quad, and the highlighter. I don’t have the Stars Wars MTHRSHPs so I’m not mad about the re-promotes, but I can understand that this isn’t the greatest release for those who do have them….

Umayama Avatar

For those wondering about the pan size of the Mega Palette, the pans are the same weight as the EYEdols eye shadow (1.1g), not the Eye Ecstasy minis (1g). They are likely to be the same diameter as the EYEdols, which is why the overall packaging is so wide.

Jane Avatar

I’m on who hasn’t bought ANY of the latest palettes, pink, gold, yada yada and the only palettes of the latest ones I was interested in were the Star Wars and Divine Rose II (DVII). So, except for the cost factor, one or a couple of these may be on my radar as Christmas gifts to myself.

Jane Avatar

After a close up look, only the mega palette and the blue quad call to me. Nope comes the wait for Christine’s review and my ability to dupe. As Nancy said, with popcorn, my wait will turn out to be a long feature film! LOL!

Kira Avatar

At $58 USD, these quads are $7 less than her Blitz Astral Quads. Knowing this, and that there’s only one repromote in Interstellar Icons (Blue Blood – fantastic color), I plan to get all three quads if I can get my grubby hands on them. I am especially hype for Fleur Fantasia!

I am so pleased at the low price point of the Mega palette, and knowing what a fangirl I am, my boyfriend actually encouraged me to just go ahead and get it even though I will have duplicate eyeshadows. (You know it’s love when they get your obsessions!).

I’m not sure I need a second highlighter so I will think about it, though the color looks beautiful. The lip balms also look beautiful, but I generally don’t like applying balms with my hands.

I feel like she’s really listened to her fans here — she’s even mixed up the lips on the lipstick design, she’s done new packaging for the balms which people complained were too fragile, she lowered the price points at various levels to make it easier to try her products, no plastic in her shipping materials anymore except for package labels and tape, fewer sequins, a new cheek product…! Can you tell that I’m excited for this launch?

MANNNIE P Avatar

Kira, I totally agree. I did pick up the Mega MTHRSHP and I love the pan sizes. I think this would be a perfect travel companion since you have such a variety of shades. I am super excited about the quads and the highlighter. I hope you love your purchases. As a fangirl myself I think I will be haha!

Joyce Avatar

Hi Christine! I tried submitting this comment before but I’m not sure if it went through.

I’m sorry to ask, but if you have time could you rearrange the large eyeshadow palette into a more “obvious” order? Please and thank you 🙂 seriously only do this if you have extra time and feel like it! I don’t want to put more work on you. (Maybe post one Insta?)

Joyce Avatar

Hi Leo!

No, I meant photoshopping the palette so the eyeshadows are in a different placement order. Christine graciously does this sometimes when palettes are difficult to visually navigate for some people.

Tiffany Avatar

I ordered the Mega Palette as soon as it went live this morning. Im super excited because I only own the two small Eye Ecstacy Palettes from Pat McGrath so far and the color story of the Mega palette is right up my alley. It was only a little over $70 with the 10% off code which was amazing. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long to ship and get to me

Bronwyn Avatar

I’m pretty tempted by this due to the purples and reds. Since I’m in Canada, the palette is significantly cheaper than the regular mothership ones.

I just want PMG to give me new Highlighters Bronzers and Blush!! I do not need any more eyeshadow palettes!!! I guess the only thing I am getting is the highlighter … Oh Well… maybe next time!

Didn’t plan on adding the new 18-pan, but I’ve got all of her palettes, so I had too hard of a time resisting.

I know there are repeats/repromotes (that’s a new one), but it’s all in one palette for travel.

Thank you for the release dates. I am interested in one maybe two of the quads. Not the mega palette, I already own Dark Star or Storm Trooper as I call it.

I bought it through her site. Havent got it yet of course…I wonder if the loans will be small sized like similar to the plastic 2 “mini pallette” she put out?? I’m excited and trying to find swatches…now all I need to know is where to find the mini 3 holiday releases will be.

Also, I WISH I would have waited and bought Decadence in the original packaging (didnt know it would be rereleased) so now I have the Star wars one…oh well, I shouldnt be complaining about that.

So, for the Quads, I’m looking at just two..I want

1.Celestial Divinity…if I understand this (I am in Indiana) it will only be available on her site in October’s (anyone have a guess of when?) And I wont be able to buy it from Sephora online??

2.RISQUE ROSE.. and I can get this sometime in October(any guesstimate) on sephora. Com or Pat’s site…..

I’m confused…why not release all of them on sephora. Com?? I just dont want to miss out like I have before because this gets so confusing

Thank you for any and all advice/thoughts!!

She doesn’t release her entire holiday collection to Sephora. Typically, the most interesting/original/best items are only available on her website. For instance, she only released 7 of her 8 first blitztrance collection lippies in 2018. But the best one was Electra, the only one not available on Sephora.
Other brands do this also.

Hello Valerie,
I always enjoy your posts on here. It gets so confusing for me to keep up with and tine and dates vs will they sell out too quickly etc. Since I am getting older, I’ve realised her formula works really easily for me and my eyes and dont make them look as bad as other formulas/brands so I really like to make sure I invest in them and not waste money on the ones I’ve found that don’t work so well for me….if that makes sense. But it all gets so confusing.

I wish she would at least maybe do difficult dates releases, but try to keep them traditionally in main areas so it’s way easier not to have to keep track and chase around what is where, when. I miss out on so much because of that and just other stuff going on and I dont do a lot of social media either, so it’s kinda frustrating. Lol

I have already ordered the bigger pallette form her site. For the price tag, I am expecting the pans to be the smaller size like the 2 white mini pallettes (forget what they are called) but they are like the dime sized pans. I’m expecting that, but I Really want two out of the three quads. It would be nice if she released them at the same time/place.

I hope you are doing well!!

Thank you, Jamey! It’s nice to “meet” you ?
It looks like:
FLEUR FANTASIA CELESTIAL DIVINITY LUXE EYE QUAD, $58.00 (LIMITED EDITION) is available on her website only on 10/9.
This is the first quad with the dreamy muted flowery tones.

RISQUE ROSE CELESTIAL DIVINITY LUXE EYE QUAD, $58.00 (LIMITED EDITION) is a North America exclusive and available at Sephora also on 10/9.
This is the quad with the pop of fuscia.

INTERSTELLAR ICON CELESTIAL DIVINITY LUXE EYE QUAD, $58.00 (LIMITED EDITION) is also available on both her site and Sephora, although unclear if it’ll be available on Sephora on 10/9.
This is the quad with the burgundy and blue.

So the only quad unavailable anywhere but her website for North America is the Fleur Fantasia.

The outer boxes in the photos above all say “rose risqué” on them so I had to read the descriptions to figure out which is what.
I hope that helps!

I’m assuming a few reasons: less expensive packaging, smaller pan sizes, re-releases so not as much need as usual, and (hopefully) doing something nice for her fans during a pandemic.

Hi I’m a new Pat Lover, only discovering her this spring. I was wondering if the starglazed BlitzTrance is a different formula from the BlitzTrance formula or if it is just a packaging difference. It seems more glittery on the bullet but I’m not sure if that’s just the photos/overspray. Thanks in advance!

I’m wondering if the pandemic has meant they have been unable to get any if the items made in Italy. She has therefore opted to remake the Star Wars collection that so many people complained about not being able to get. That was all made in the USA. The quads seem to be heavily influenced by the Star Wars/ Decadence palette and I’m left thinking that the lo were price point is because there are no special shades. Or at least not the usual Italian standard. I hope the swatches and descriptions are released soon.

Kimberly Bowen Avatar

Does anyone know if this collection was made in Italy? Specifically the Celestial quads? There were some issues/complaints with some recent items that I think were made elsewhere, possibly due to the coronavirus. Thanks!

Kira Avatar

The Celestial quad “Fleur Fantasia” has a “made in USA” label on the back, so it’s probably similar to the others.

These Celestial quads I think have different formulas than the Blitz quads – more like her Skinshow, matte, and iridescent eyeshadow formulas than a baked gel/powder/special shade formula. On my skintone and with the texture/color, Huetopia and Lotus Paradise double as a subtle blush and highlighter, respectively.

Scout Avatar

I just got the highlighter and that is made in Taiwan.
It comes in a very heavy and bulky metal case that of course is very Lux but it is not even refillable so it is an incredibly wasteful package for the 6,5 grams of product you get…

Boo hoo! I can dupe 14 of the 18 shades in the Mega palette. :(. I really wanted this one, but that’s just too many dupes (and at least 10-12 are VERY close dupes!). Oh well. It’s a good thing for my wallet. I’ll just focus on the ones I don’t have and see it I can find them for less than the palette.
