OCC Black Metal Dahlia & Batty Nail Lacquers Reviews, Photos, Swatches
OCC Black Metal Dahlia Nail Lacquer
OCC Black Metal Dahlia Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep maroon with red pearl.” It’s a rich, luxurious deep red with metallic, ruby red shimmer. It applied evenly and smoothly, and two coats was plenty for fully opaque color coverage. The consistency was slightly thicker than average, but it didn’t impact the application at all. MAC Underfire (LE, $16.00) is a cream. Illamasqua Scarab (P, $17.00) is darker. Dior Apparat (LE, $24.00) has gold shimmer. China Glaze Mommy Kissing Santa (LE, $8.00) is similar. See comparison swatches.
OCC Batty Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “midnight black with silver glitter.” It’s a rich, deep black with silver micro-glitter–it looks like a blackened night sky with twinkling stars. It was nearly opaque in a single coat, but I applied two for perfectly opaque, smooth color. The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, so the polish flowed evenly across the nail without pooling along the edges. NARS Night Breed (LE, $19.00) has finer sparkle. L’Oreal The Queen’s Ambition (LE) has slightly finer shimmer. Illamasqua Creator (P, $17.00) is similar. Color Club Show Time (P) has finer shimmer. See comparison swatches.

Wow! I absolutely love both of these!
Me too! Great minds think alike 🙂
I remember, eons ago (when I was in my early teens), I used to buy Cutex brand nail polish, and they had a shade called ‘Ice Crushed Rubies’ which was my all-time, absolute favorite. Once Cutex polishes were discontinued, I searched high and low for a similar shade, but had no luck.
From what I can recall, Black Metal Dahlia looks almost identical to Ice Crushed Rubies, so I’m definitely going to find a bottle and try it out! It looks amazing!
Ooh, I hope it lives up to your memories of Ice Crushed Rubies, Diane!
Looks almost identical to Percival by a-England.
Thank you for sharing the dupe, Carrie!
Black Metal is very vampy, nice! I’d personally go for Batty though, so pretty.
I love silver glitter in black cream!
Both shades look stunning!! So ready-to -party!!
Very true – great for holiday!
Ooo I like these and the price is right. I won’t be purchasing
MAC’s 18.00 nail polish this winter, yeah right.
I have Creator & Queens Ambition so I can skip Batty
but I need Black metal Dahlia! 🙂
$10 isn’t bad at all! 🙂
Both shades would look perfect for Halloween!
I could see the black being a great shade for Halloween!
Black Metal Dahlia is a very pretty nail polish. How does this compare to Chanel Malice?
Malice is darker and warmer, I believe!
I love Batty <3
One of my faves!
Batty reminds me of Zoya Storm.
I can see the resemblance!
These are both lovely. 🙂
Yay! Glad ya liked ’em!
Black Metal Dahlia is really pretty!
A new favorite for sure!
They’re both so gorge. Definitely getting myself those.
Hope you love ’em, Joanna!
Batty is so freaking gorge! aaaahhh I can’t even. I wish i could paint my nails as well as you do, Christine. I always smudge it or have bubbles or other crap. It looks like a three year old did it.
I really love those american nail lacquer.
Where can I buy it in europe? 🙂
Hmm, I am not sure 🙁 With regulations on nail polish, not sure OCC ships that internationally!
