NYX Soft Spoken HD Blush

NYX Soft Spoken HD Blush ($6.50 for 0.16 oz.) is a soft, light peach with a hintr of pink and a golden shimmer-sheen. Dior Peach Splendor (LE, $44.00) is less shimmery. Sephora + Pantone Universe Coral Pink (LE) is less shimmery. Chanel Caresse (180) (LE, $45.00) is darker. Benefit CORALista (Palette) (P, $28.00) is more shimmery . Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach (LE) is darker, more shimmery. Surratt Beauty Duchesse (P, $32.00) is lighter. MAC New Romance (P, $27.00) is slightly darker. Makeup Geek Honeymoon (P, $9.99) is pinker. bareMinerals The Many Splendors #2 (LE) is more shimmery. MAC Adored (LE, $30.00) is darker. MAC Amber Glow (LE, $27.00) is less pink. Benefit Sugarbomb (P, $28.00) is pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

This is a blush that will naturally suit lighter skin tones the best as a result of being on the lighter end of the spectrum, as it will show up as more of a highlighter on medium and deeper skin tones (as it does on me). The powder was soft, smooth, and powdery, though it didn’t feel chalky. It had semi-opaque color payoff that was buildable to a degree, but it tended to soften more readily than it did intensify to opaque color. The finish is luminous without being too frosted, so it didn’t emphasize pores or the skin’s natural texture, and despite the powderiness, it didn’t look that way on the skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading on me.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I’m still yet to give any NYX products a go, although I recently found them on sale in Next in the UK. This looks like the perfect universal shade and great for everyday use to warm up any skin tone. I’m not a massive blush wearer as it’s something I don’t tend to pay attention to, so maybe I should give a shade like this ago to ease myself into it lol

I’m really a fan of NYX these days, and their new formulas and packaging are just reinforcing that love. I feel like Taupe HD is an improvement to the original, and this peach is lovely. Definitely better suited for ghost white people I expect. Lucky for me heehee.

Hi Rachel,

I only had three shatter from the ones I’ve ordered, and ULTA tossed them in an oversized cardboard box with no bubble wrap around them, no thick paper to cushion, etc. so on my end, them shattering wasn’t a surprise (fragile or not). This was one of the blushes that arrived intact from ULTA. None of the blushes I ordered directly from NYX arrived broken. I just know that several readers had issues with theirs shattering through ULTA orders and one reader had an issue with them shattering in her bag on the way home from an ULTA store.

Thanks for the clarification. Crappy order packing is a pet peeve of mine. Glad to hear this one didn’t break on you.

My son says, “Awwww…thanks!” for the birthday wishes.
