NYX Dusty Rose Blush
NYX Dusty Rose Blush

NYX Dusty Rose Powder Blush ($5.99 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a “matte rose pink.” It’s a light-medium, rosy pink with neutral-to-warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. NARS Anguilla (P, $39.00) is lighter, warmer, cream. Divergent Misty Rose (LE) is darker, warmer, less pink. theBalm Houndstooth (P, $22.00) is cooler-toned, more shimmery. Urban Decay Overexposed (LE) is lighter. bareMinerals Glamour (LE, $19.00) is lighter. NARS Love (LE, $29.00) is warmer. Tarte Elevated (LE, $26.00) is browner, less pink. Hourglass Radiant Magenta (P, $35.00) is lighter, warmer. Make Up For Ever #330 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is a cream product, warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It’s a more buildable formula that can be applied more subtly but is still very pigmented and can be applied with true-to-pan color. The texture of Dusty Rose is very soft, silky, and smooth–but it can be a little powdery, so use a lighter touch with your brush to avoid kicking up excess product. The pigmentation was excellent; it was easy to get full-color coverage, but it could also be sheered out or applied with a lighter hand for a softer blush. When I wore it on my cheeks, the color was true for seven and a half hours before it started to fade.

The way these are packaged have always reminded me of Chanel’s awhile back. Do you know what Im referencing? I forget what they were called, but they had eyeshadows as well in this pressed pattern and the names revolved around planets, I think. Are the companies related? <3

You’re welcome, Christine! This look on you is definitely a favorite of mine. The color works effortlessly! Everyone has some shade:/shades that make people go, “wow!,” and this one truly maximizes a happy glowing Christine! 🙂

I have to get me a NYX blush or 2…I think there is one that is a close dupe to the MAC Mineralize blush I missed from the Quite Naturally collection of a few years ago so that’s going to be first up on my list. But this colour, while gorgeous, is a bit warm for me.

i have this one and I love it. Great quality for the price. I am light, olive toned and this is a good color for my skin color. I wear it on the sheer side as I do all my blushes. I was very happy to see this review.

Ah I’m so glad this got your recommendation! 😀 I ordered this from ULTA when they had free shipping for $25 order + BOGO50 on NYX products. I ordered this cause it seemed to maybe match my medium-deep skintone. Hopefully it will. I’ve been wanting a more “natural” color that is more muted because a lot of my blushes seem a more brighter.
thank you for the review! 🙂

Thank you Christine! The color worked out perfectly! The color probably won’t last, because most blushes don’t. Not even the Balm Instain blushes 🙁
But I’m glad I got it!

Did you use a natural hair brush with this blush? My only blush brushes are both synthetic hair and I found it really hard to get much pigment with this. I’m not sure if it was that my synthetic brushes that was causing the issue or if I just happened to get dud (not mad over it at this price point, but I was disappointed since most people say Nyx products are average to good quality). :/
