NYX Apricot HD Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
NYX Apricot HD Blush
NYX Apricot HD Blush
NYX Apricot HD Blush ($16.50 for 0.25 oz. ) is medium-dark coral-red with a soft, satiny shimmer-sheen. The color initially reminded me of Chanel Rouge, which is certainly redder and more intense–with a light hand, they’re comparable. It also reminded me of the original MAC Posey and MAC Mighty Aphrodite. Benefit Bella Bamba is pinker.
What I’ve loved most about NYX’s line of HD blushes is their soft, super finely-milled powders; they’re silky, blendable, and fairly buildable. It’s a formula that makes it difficult to overdo it on; you have to be deliberate about greater intensity if that’s the color you desire, but it’s not difficult to achieve a more pigmented cheek. The downside to these blushes is the wear time, which is around six hours, at which point I start noticing it fade.
For an in-depth commentary on the packaging, please see my original review.

I LOVE these blushes! The packaging is kinda bulky but they have some really nice colors.
The grinding part is a fun novelty and the colour is pretty wearable, but I don’t think the price tag is justified. I like a lot of NYX products, and one of their advantages is their usually-affordable price point.
It’s a pretty color but it’s kind of pricey for Nyx! I would rather pay an extra $2 and get a Mac blush. Sorry Nyx!
Same.
I agree as well! Sorry, NYX!
OMG these look so cool. What a great way to get loose powder without having to worry about it spilling all over the place!!!!!
16 donald duck dollars???? NYX, you gotta be kidding me.
The color is super pretty.
it luks gorgeous!!!
What a strange name, calling a blush apricot when it clearly isn’t!
I thought the same thing, haha! Looks like a pretty color, but… it definitely doesn’t look like apricot anything!
Can you please review and swatch the amazonian clay blushes by tarte????
no cheek swatch?
Reader feedback said they weren’t very helpful 🙂
I think that you face swatches ARE REALLY helpful!
that we can see how actually do the products look on face.
And they’re fun and beautiful to see. I love to see how you match the product in a look (eventhough you said sometimes you just put it on without matching it with your other makeup)
For what it’s worth, the cheek swatches actually helped me decide to love or leave a blush.
That really stinks! I look forward to pictures of you actually wearing the products- it really helps me visualize it better 🙁
Those readers are crazy!
Boo :/
I agree! I love the cheek swatches and find them to be very helpful. You and I both have similar skintones so it’s helpful to see a full faced picture. It’s easier to gauge whether a certain color would look good on me and thus have based many of my purchases on your cheek swatches. I’m sad to see them go. 🙁
They’re not entirely gone, but based on the results, they’re a very small part of blush reviews to most people, so if I don’t have one (these photos are a year old, and I had been waiting to someday do a cheek swatch), I should still post 🙂
I REALLY love the idea of the grinder but $16 is absurd for NYX.
ugh gimicky
looks cute
That’s disappointing especially because I love Menage a Trois so much!
I like this blush, but I have to agree- its def. not apricot in color and leaves me wondering why the name choice. I could see myself using this blush in the dead of winter to get that “flushed in the cold air” kinda look. Im glad I can get NYX brand at stores that offer great coupons tho, cause I wouldnt be purchasing the grinders if I had to pay full price!
I like the packaging, but this colour doesnt suit me. I will try this in another colour. MMmm me like blushes <3
