It’s that time of year… the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale went live to cardholders a few days ago, and so I’m here with swatches of some of the beauty exclusives I purchased. The products will be available to all customers beginning July 19th.
Technically, the new Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadows are not part of the Anniversary Sale, but they are exclusive to Nordstrom and just arrived… so I included those, too!
We're here to help you make better beauty purchases that you'll enjoy and love! We recommend signing up to take advantage of personalized features like tracking products you own, viewing dupes that you already have, and more!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when
a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set
expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up
being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!
wow i just realized the mini smokey eye is like taking most of the shades of the first half of the stars in your eyes palette. so if it performs well and someone didnt want the berry tones its perfect!
except maybe the price tag
Like I suspected, I’ve fallen for Hourglass Ray and Vivid!
The CT palette looks like a solid choice for warm neutral set of e/s’s, but shades I already have around here.

Sabrina from the Beautylookbook swatched the CT Mini Easy Smokey Eyes palette and the Stars In Your Eyes palette and there were clear duplicates.
The Hourglass eyeshadows look interesting. It’s a pass on the CT and LM palettes.
Sorry — I didn’t even have time to look or pull dupes yet (I enter them when I’m ready to write the review) — only had time to edit + set up the posts, hence the sneak peek first! I’m so sorry for being so slow!

Wow. That CT palette looks much warmer here than it does in the Nordstrom pics. I thought it was going to be more pink and less orange.
Thanks so much for posting! I was hoping you would post pics of the Laura Mercier palette sooner rather than later! As It turns out from your swatches, it is a pass for me – nothing exciting.
That Charlotte Tilbury palette reminds me of Urban Decay’s Naked Heat palette. I’m pretty sure I can get similar looks using Naked Heat. If Pillow Talk wasn’t such as light color for me I would have purchased her lip set.

Absolutely! Looks identical, and UD is a whole palette of great shadows for less $ actually. I love that Naked Heat palette. I like these actual warmer colors more than the colors look on the Nordstrom site. Thanks for these pics, Christine, because the Nordstrom site makes these palette colors look completely different- so much paler and muted than they apparently are!

I will forever love you for taking pictures of ingredients labels!! You won’t believe how hard it is to find that information online – especially for luxury cosmetics!
I spent quite a bit of time at Nordstrom’s and looked at all the sale offerings and walked away with a pretty meh impression. I didn’t end up buying anything from the sale. That has to be a first for me. I was kind of looking for an all matte palette that would pair with the Viseart Coy palette and didn’t find anything. I remember a palette relatively recently that you reviewed here on the blog that was either all mattes or had a large number of mattes. I am going to spend some time sifting back through the posts. I know that Tammy uses the Editorial palette to compliment her Coy palette and I may end up doing that too but wanted to check other things out. Nothing at Nordstrom’s seemed to work or at least catch my eye. I finally got my Coy palette and haven’t even played with it yet. I did finger swatch the shades and I am just so in love with it and I am so happy I picked it up with my gift card. It is a stunner!
I was trying to think which palette you were thinking of, but I couldn’t figure it out, lol! I hope when you sift through and see it, it’s what you’re looking for!
I went back 3 months and didn’t find anything that would have provoked the response I thought I had made at the time, LOL! I know Tammy responded saying that the palette would work well with Coy so maybe she will remember. In any event, I can always get Editorial and I know it will work because I have seen it used with Coy on Tammy’s IG posts. Maybe I was dreaming.
Hmmm. Maybe ColourPop Brown Sugar one? I just got that one and it’s 6 mattes and 3 shimmers — very neutral. I plan to use it with brighter and bolder shades I’ve got elsewhere.
All of the above look lovely – there is a warm toned, soft and subtle theme going on here and it is very pretty.

Hi Christine 😉
Thanks for posting so quickly 😉 And thank you for your work, you are my reference when I have to buy makeup 😉
The CT reminds me of the Urban Decay Aphrodisiac 😉
Have a nice day 😉

I have to agree with some others here – meh. I looked at every single beauty thing available at the pre-sale thing (July 10) and was pretty disappointed and bored by it all.

It saves a lot of disappointment for sure.

Great post. I had looked at the CT palette but it is so much warmer than I thought! It looked pretty basic so I figured I had dupes most likely.
I didn’t buy any beauty stuff except body wash, neubrow and the Bobbi brown moisturizer (50% off).
I stocked up on pj’s and socks plus those copper wine glasses which make excellent gifts. You can drink anything out of them!
Whoever edited that CT promo photo… it’s soooo washed out + rosier/cooler than it is in person.
