After a successful 4.5-month no-buy, I fell off the wagon very hard, especially with Colourpop. So although these look very pretty, I’m going to pass on this formula completely and try to stick to a new no-buy for awhile (well, at least until holiday releases).

I’ve have to say I’m a bit confused by some of the pairings here. Three of these kits – the cherry, peach and watermelon – the colors are so subtly different that it doesn’t seem like you really need both shades. It’s a shame you can’t make your own kit for the discount so you can get a better variety in the tint.

Cutie Fruity, Maui Wowie and Chimichanga all three look like very wearable colours in my preferred colour families. These types of formula’s don’t last well for me since I am a lip worrier but I have purchased quite a few lately including 2 from Dior and 2 from Sephora house brand while I was in Seattle so I am going to pass on these. The 2 from Sephora have a really deep stain effect and that stain lasts for a long time on me. Unfortunately, although I purchased a pink and a red, they both look pretty much the same. I wish I could find a red stain that actually looks red. That I would be down for!

These remind me of Revlon’s Kiss Balm Lip Sticks. Although Revlon only has 3 colors plus a clear one to pick from. I have the red (apple) and the berry ones. I feel like CP’s are sheerer than the Revlon but you have more colors to choose from in The CP vs the Revlon. Chimichanga is my favorite color of the bunch. I’m trying to come to terms with the fact that my lips and matte lip products will just never work out. Anything with moisture, regardless of wear time, gets my attention. I wonder how these will wear and if they would offer moisture if applied over a lipstick or lip liner? Seems like they went the sheer route for summer but I wish they had some more vibrant colors as well. I wonder if these have a taste or smell?

I started getting into makeup in 2012ish when chubby crayons were all the rage so it’s funny to see this trend coming back around!

Christine: I’m really into this collection, but it’s a tough one for people with darker skin tones and, especially, more naturally pigmented lips. I don’t know if any of the lighter and medium shades will show up at all. For instance, I really like City of Stars, but I worry it might completely sheer out on my more plummy lips. Do you have any advice/observations? Thanks.
