New Year's Eve Look with MAC Peacocky

New Year’s Eve Look with MAC Peacocky

Though I spent New Year’s Eve at home playing with makeup (err, I mean, reviewing Peacocky!), I still felt like I needed to get a little dolled up–at the very least! It was actually the first New Year’s Eve that my boyfriend and I have spent together, just him and I. I wanted something soft but still a little glitzy, and the new Mega Metal Eyeshadows were obviously the way to go–get to test them out, get my glitz!

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Dalliance eyeshadow all over the lid. Lightly blend Centre Stage eyeshadow into the crease and blend into the outer corner with the 222. Next, apply Sex-pectations eyeshadow into the lower crease with the 239 (horizontally), lightly blending with Centre Stage. Blend Trench eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Perversion eyeliner on the lower lash line and pat Dalliance eyeshadow on lower lower lash line with a dampened 219 to brighten. Finish by sweeping lashes with Inimitable Intense mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sur blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116, then highlight with Gana blush using the 165.

For lips, apply Scandelicious lipcolour for a complementing lip.

only the light neutral eyeshadows in this collection are really sticking out to me…even when swatched next to all the other bright shadows. beautiful!

Very pretty 🙂 I love the colors together! I also love the pop of color that the Sex-pectations leaves while still being very subtle! 😀 Happy New Year, Christine (and Temptalia and Mellan!) Have a wonderful, blessed, spectacular year!!!

Gorgeous look, but just out of curiosity – do you just put your hair up for the pictures, and wear it down sometimes? I saw a picture of you with it down and you looked s t u n n i n g. Like, jaw-dropping. Course, you always look amazing.. but yeah.

Oh, Dalliance is so pretty. It reminds me vaguely of Maui-Wowie, except without all the fallout! That’s great, though, because I always loved the color but hated the formula!

Aaaand now I feel like one of those people who don’t read the posts, since I just saw you posted an entire comparison post, in which you mention the similarity to Maui-Wowie. LOL. Sorry Christine!

I second that– need to work on my makeup application skills now that I have so much makeup! Amazing how the light reddish tint adds to the look.

Just beautiful Christine!I love how you manage to add a little extra “oomph” to a basic neutral eye. I can easily see this going from a day to night look. Thanks for always giving us new ideas to try!

This look is subtle & beautiful on you Christine! Now I am really wanting the Dalliance eyeshadow from this collection. I have never used them wet because I don’t want to ruin the eyeshadows but I should give it a try! Thanks so much for all the photos you have posted on this collection. Happy New Year!

How’s the Burberry pressed powder compared to the Laura Mercier setting powder you usually finish with? I noticed the difference in the description and was curious!

Do you ever do video tutorials? I appreciate your breakdown but would LOVE to see you do a look as well. I LOVE this look. It is perfect!

I was just looking at the eye shot, thinking that this is a surprisingly tame look for a bright collection like Peacocky, but then I scrolled down to the lips, and BAM, I get three of my favorite things: Sexy, fun, and hot pink!

You always balance your looks out so well. Hope you had a great new year!

Hello, Gorgeous! I just ordered the shadows and lip color from this look, and can’t wait to try them out. I don’t own any of the blushes (or dupes) that you used, so what would you recommend for someone with similar coloring but lighter skin?
