Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Marc Jacobs Kiss Pops are $28 each, so 9 of them works out to be $252. Why are they charging MORE for this set? That’s so strange.

The Bite set is lovely but looks so similar to the one they had out last year! That’s a bummer.

Monica Avatar

Even better is that it’s listed at $375 CDN, for a 25% mark-up.
The individual ones are $35/each x 9 = $315, so the case itself is now $60.
That “covetable” case… No, thank you.
I am eyeing that Bite Beauty set, though. It looks like I would get more use out of their tin to boot.

Madison Avatar

The Bite set is different from last holiday right? They look so similar, even the packaging is the same. I don’t want to end up buying the same thing again.

Jane Avatar

It’s not quite last year’s, but it’s really similar. Last year’s set was Quince, Rhubarb, Cranberry, and Madeira.

So Rhubarb is the only repeat, but other than that, it’s still one nude, one “rose berry” and one “festive red”.

Emily Avatar

Is that really all Bite is offering this year? They did such a great job last year with the mega set of minis, I guess I had higher expectations this year. (I will still get this set, of course!)

I already have the Estée Lauder miniature lipstick set. I have a few full sizes of that range of lipsticks and I like the formula. I’d say that the quality of the mini ones is comparable to the bigger ones I have. You get a red, a pink, a nude and a rose, which is quite a nice little selection. I’m terrible for finding anything miniature so cute that I have to buy it so I had to get this collection. As much as I like them and how cute and handy to carry about they are I don’t think it’s worth it for the price. For four tiny lipsticks and a small bag I think the asking price is too much (says she who forked out for them because ‘small is adorable’). Chances are that if you are into makeup you’ll already have similar colours so unless you feel you need more portable lipsticks and/or fancy trying out the formula in a few colours I’d give this collection a miss. :S

I was thinking about that set because I have never tried much from Lauder. What is your opinion on the formula? I am sure I have those shades at least 2x in other formulas! Thank you for possibly saving my wallet!

I don’t like rhubarb but it’s in this year’s bite beauty set again :S or is that not misspelled. *squinting eyes.*

Thinking about getting the Estee Lauder one for my mother. She was eyeing my urban Decay Lipstick set with longing but she wouldn’t have worn those colours. This looks more like something she would wear and appreciate the packaging.

The Bite set looks interesting, but isn’t a need. I really wish the Buxom set was better. I want to try their lipsticks, but I don’t wear nudes (they all look so weird on me!) and i already own 10x more red lipsticks than I need so I can’t get excited. Also that Marc set is crazy! $33 dollars per lip color, a $5 markup from normal lol I can’t see that getting sold a lot.

I am super tempted by the Bite Beauty set! Seems like an excellent value. When the large Estee Lauder set comes out will you be reviewing it, Christine?

Nicole Avatar

Can’t wait for the reviews on the Bite Beauty set and Estee lauder! I wish MJ would have put out a smaller, less expensive set..that is alot of $ for me to drop on lipsticks all at once, especially at Christmas. I guess,if you have a lot of friends/family that you could break it up to gift it’s a good deal. Personally, that looks like one of those gifts I would wind up gifting myself if I could afford it,lol!

Nicole Avatar

I just noticed your comment that you will not be reviewing these Christine..bummer. I’m probably out then on these. I think I had a Bite stick when the brand first launched and it obviously was not anything special then because it didn’t stick in my head. I actually picked it up in my hands at Sephora last Friday and checked it out and just put it back. I am usually grabby hands that can’t resist..and then it’s mine, haha! The Lauder, eh..i’ll consider if I need a add-on gift for my mom and then I can test one out,if they are still available. But’it’s not jumping at me. So,with them not supplying these to the big bloggers such as yourself, I thing they are losing sales. Just MHO. 🙂

Christine Avatar

I think I reviewed most of the Estee Lauder lipsticks in the set (Dynamic, Envious, Tumultuous Pink), and I have reviewed a few of the Kiss Pops that are included (and didn’t care for the formula). I’ve reviewed a few of Bite’s pencils, but not these particular shades if that’s any help! 🙂

Nicole Avatar

It is! I will check your reviews out before I make a final decision on those. So glad you don’t care for the kiss pop as I think that price is way over the top. FYI, I just ordered some of the NARS holiday color collection(lipsticks and glosses) on NARS website. Then, I jsut happened to notice that the 2 Hardwired lipsticks are up on Sephora too already. I didn’t even look for the glosses since I already ordered from NARS…just in case anyone is looking for them and prefer Sephora.

Lissete Avatar

Hi I was just wondering if you had any info on the ysl lipstick trio that will be released for the holidays? I seen on ig that it is out in Canada but I haven’t seen it in sephora’a website.
Thank you

Helene Avatar

I sort of like the Estée Lauderset, but I would only get realuse of two of the lipsticks in it, With the Buxom set, I’d only use the red one, I’m not sure about the Bite set, it looks quite nice, but maybe a bit muted, I’m not at all familiar with Bire, though. The MJ set is really nice, but I’d not buy it at that cost.
I so like getting the news like this. Keep em coming!
