Neutral Makeup: More Soft Browns from Warm & Cozy
More Natural Makeup with MAC Warm & Cozy
Here’s another simple look I did with Warm & Cozy. There’s really not much to it! I just wanted something easy, functional, and neutral. I thought about wearing By Candlelight in this look, but MAC’s mineralize products tend to break me out, so I didn’t want to risk it over the holidays. I just went with my new favorite Sugarbomb instead! 🙂
You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Nurture Shadestick (soft pink), MAC Chamomile Eyeshadow (soft off-white), MAC Expensive Pink Eyeshadow (dirty pink), MAC Modelette Eyeshadow (soft medium brown), MAC Mulled Cider Eyeshadow (medium dark reddish brown), Urban Decay Underground 24/7 Liner (brown), Dior DiorShow Extase Macara (black)
- Cheeks: Benefit Sugarbomb Powder (peachy pink)
- Lips: MAC Warm Me Up Lipstick (medium, yellowed pink), MAC D’Nouveau Lipgloss (plum)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Nurture = Fresco Rose, Chamomile = Blanc Type; Modelette = Era; Mulled Cider = Folie; Comfort = bronzer; Warm Me Up = Cosmo; D’Nouveau = Star Nova
Directions: Start by applying MAC Nurture shadestick as your eyeshadow base all over the lid with the 249. Using the 239, apply Chamomile eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Expensive Pink eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Modelette eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Next, define the crease by applying Mulled Cider eyeshadow with the 226. Lightly tap and brush Modelette eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Chamomile eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Urban Decay Underground Liner on the lower lash line, and then sweeping lashes with Dior DiorShow Extase mascara.
For cheeks, apply Benefit Sugarbomb powder to the apples of cheeks with the 116.
For lips, apply Warm Me Up lipstick first, and then layer D’Nouveau lipgloss for soft, neutral lips.

Soft and beautiful !!! Love it !
Thanks, Claudia!
Beautiful. 🙂 x
Thank you, Sarah! 🙂
would you say milled cider is similar to swiss chocolate as well?
Yes, it’s similar 🙂
very beautiful. love the natural look and your lashes are so long and pretty.
Thanks, Penelope!
Christine! I’m trying to skip these shadows, but you’re making it impossible. I’m heading to mac now. You didn’t give such a great review on these shadows, but they look so pretty and I need neutral shadows. I’m so torn. Lol
I’d take a look at MAC’s permanent eyeshadows — these really are so, so subpar in comparison, IMO!
I just got back from mac and these really are subpar when swatched in person. I got a lot of other stuff from this collection, though.
What other stuff did you get!
Pretty! Warm me up seems to be a very versatile lippie…
Thanks, Keke! It is!
OMG, that’s so funny!! I went to the mall this morning and my MAC makeup artist used almost the same look on me!! I love it too!!
Awesome 😀
sugarbomb looks so pretty on you! i just picked up today, super excited!!
Thanks, Abby!! I hope you love it!
Sugarbomb looks so pretty on you! Love the lip combo too!
Thanks a lot, Catherine 🙂
im seriously wanting to try sugarbomb lol but i was gonna buy a new mac foundation and clinique 3 step skin care system with my christmas money.. might have to reconsider hahaha btw.. lovely look christine 🙂 xx
I loveeee it! It works with practically everything 🙂
Thank you!
Very pretty! Expensive Pink adds a nice twist to the look 🙂 (PS: I think you used a picture with the wrong swatches!)
Thanks, Roxanne! LOL, I didn’t actually swatch everything in the look, but I figured most of the shadows (except Expensive Pink) were in that photo 😛
I really like this look. Anything with expensive pink is good in my book. But is Modelette really that poorly pigmented? Cuz it hardly shows up at all.
Modelette isn’t very dark, so it’s very soft/light. I think it’s pigmented enough to show, but it’s not by any means a dark or intense eyeshadow.
merry xmass i love.. love this look flawless as usual
Thank you, Neli! Happy holidays!
Hi Christine! This is such a great look, and Chamomile actually looks like a really nice highlighter, so I’m definitely going to pick it up. I like the addition of Expensive Pink, too.
Thanks so much, Doreen 🙂
Those colors look great on you! very natural
Thanks a lot! 🙂
What a beautiful, soft glow. You look like you are bathed in candlelight. Just from looking at your closed eye, it looks like the lovechild of Expensive Pink and Modelette would be Patina. Since Patina is my favorite MAC shadow, I’ll just have to check out the lippie. I love that you used a plum gloss. Very pretty!!
Aww! Thank you so much, Jodi 🙂
your lashes looks fabulous!
thanks again for yet another wonderfully warm neutral look (:
Thanks, Ezzie!
You’re tempting me with Sugarbomb. 😉 It looks great on you. I saw it today at Sephora, but maybe next payday.
I lovesssss it!! 🙂
That is a great natural look for work and school. I saw Sugar Bomb today at Sephora and liked it at first swatch and I will probably pick it up soon. The Diorshow Extrasse mascara looks great on your lashes!
Thanks a lot, Amy! I hope you enjoy Sugarbomb as much as I am 😀
wow! another beautiful look..perfectly polished!
Thanks, LR!
Gorgeous! Also, I’ve never really noticed til now, but it looks like you’ve got an animal print of some sort in parts of your eyes…..weird but cool! lol
Thanks, Paloma 😉
LOL, I always thought they looked like DNA or trees…
Ive never been fun of satin eyeshadows because they usually dont show up that easily unless you pack it on alot
I was wondering Christine if you take time to pack on the color to let it show?
Can you provide dupes of them in the permanent mac eyeshadows which are pigmented?
Thanks & love the look
I always list all of the dupes in the beginning of the post:
Substitutes: Nurture = Fresco Rose, Chamomile = Blanc Type; Modelette = Era; Mulled Cider = Folie; Comfort = bronzer; Warm Me Up = Cosmo; D’Nouveau = Star Nova
I don’t really pack on eyeshadows, I just pat them on. I don’t think I felt like these were difficult to get to show, though!
Very pretty Christine! I checked out the collection today and only walked away with the Cuddle and Nurture shadesticks. I believe I have some shades similiar to the shadow colors so I will try my hand at this look:)
Thanks so much, Tami 🙂 Good luck!
your eye colour is insane
so beautiful
Aw! Thanks a lot, Maddie!
Christine, I wanted to ask you before but somehow I forget always… anyway, I wanted to ask you – which camera do you use to take your photos? 🙂 Beside beautiful makeup I must also say that your photos are always perfect! And not only makeup, swatches too 🙂
Thanks!
I use Nikon D90 with a 60mm Nikkor lens. 🙂
Thank you!
totally love this look !
Thanks a lot, Taj!
Very flattering on you 🙂 Esp. the eyes!
Thanks, Kell!
This is a very pretty look on you! I just came back from checking this collection out. I agree the colors are pretty but not wow. I picked up a color I wasn’t necessarily interesed in but I really love it. That is the Light That Fire! lipglass.
Thanks so much, Jodi 🙂
Glad you grabbed Light That Fire lipglass!
I have to agree that Comfort MSF is very orange. Seeing Sugarbomb in this pic really shows the difference. I will not be picking up any MSF’s.
This pic turned out great btw!!!!
Thanks a lot, Brenda 🙂
Wow you look great in Sugarbomb! Lemming begins…
Thanks, Sun!
Christine, would you recommend the Warm and Cozy e/s or the Chanel e/s quad?
Chanel eyeshadow quad… but if you were looking for a more budget friendly alternative, I’d go with some neutrals from MAC’s permanent line.
i heart warm me up lipstick with 2N…my newly favorite combination. probably will wear this for a loooong time!
yay 😀
Hi Christine! I know this post is really old, but I just came across it and I absolutely adore this look! Could you please give some MAC dupes for the LE e/s in this look? Thank you so much!!
Try Shroom, Patina, Swiss Chocolate, Embark
