Those 3 “trio-chromes” look so interesting and it seems that ND has taken a leaf from Clionadh’s amazing light and shade shifting shadows. But beyond that, there’s nothing here that interests me and those milky pastels are colours I actively try to avoid.

Francesca Avatar

That could have been the first ND I’d be interested to buy, since I’ve never been into her colour stories. This is an exception, very interesting…. If only she had released it as mini palette… I’m not going to sped that amount for extra sized pan, I’m never going to finish them.

polishedhippy Avatar

I checked the listing at Sephora and the pan sizes concern me. They are listed in this palette as .08 oz each, whereas even the Bronze and Glam palettes are shown as .65oz. And the price is back up to $129! That doesn’t sound like a good value, especially when most of the pans are just mattes anyway.

Christine Avatar

There are 15 shades in the palette, so at 0.08 oz. each, that is 1.20 oz. total, which means that this is a full-sized palette, like Biba or Sunset, and it is not the smaller 15-pan palette. It’s not a matter of “back up to,” as she carries a smaller 15-pan and a standard-sized 15-pan 🙂

Ivy Avatar

Weird, it looks like Sephora might’ve messed up the order of the shadow names – scarab is missing entirely and some of the names (Vert, Ion, Mangalese, Naga) are shifted over.

This is quite pretty, and I really do like the unusual color story plus the higher matter/shimmer ratio. That being said, I think this is an easy pass. I don’t really lean towards pastels in any way, and being one of the bigger size pans I feel you need to really want to commit to the color story to get the best use out of these. But it’s pretty, and I do like that she decided to do something different.

After watching a review on it, I’m waiting. They said you might not need it if you have Tiny Marvels, which I have, and I’m waiting on It’s Freakin’ Bats, which has some other similar colors. Will wait for review and possibly a sale. The colors are so intriguing!

kjh Avatar

FreakinBats swatches beautifully. Arcana does, too. I have the two originals, from when they were Strobe. Creepy Cute is arguably true best pastel/pastel goth palette, and Divinity embodies most people’s idea of fall. Good concept and execution. Man, do i have to stop looking.

Lucie Avatar

I love it conceptually. I’m not as enamored in execution.

I love all three multichromes and would love to get them as singles. But even the promo copy outright says that each row is designed essentially for three different kinds of consumers. How much overlap is there with those consumers? Is the “classic every day” look consumer really going to make good use of the “out of the box” look and be willing to pay $129 for a palette they may only be interested in 1/3rd of, or maybe 2/3rds?

I would have loved these to be 5 pan palettes (mini or full size pans – I’d pay the higher $ for larger pans if I could just get the row(s) I want) since they were purposely designed for each row to be a complete entity unto itself and then mix and match like the Fenty snap together palettes. But as a $129 palette, I don’t want 20% of my palette to be three nearly identical white looking pastels and ion and vert just aren’t my jam even though I understand it’s a coordinated look with the multichrome. I can appreciate it for what it is and love the swatches, but it’s just not something I’m going to try to fit in my budget.

Nikki Avatar

I recently got my first ND mini’s, and, to be honest, they don’t impress me as much as I had hoped they would. And, the full-sized palettes are waayyy too big to be practical/useful to me. I won’t spend that much on the large, full-size ND palettes, simply because of that. I MIGHT be interested if this were one of the smaller 15-pan palettes or if it were marketed as 3, 5-pan palettes, as the purples especially intrigue me, but, in this format, easy pass.

Erin Avatar

Looks absolutely delicious. I love it. But I know I won’t ever use it up and I’m turned off by the price (CDN$172) so I can’t justify buying it *sigh*

kjh Avatar

If you would feel comfortable using the top row, then you’d use all three rows. If you are less adventurous, maybe only 1. I agree with those who think the rows should have been released separately, with the ability to move them into a 15 well empty, or snap/attach in some way. Do ND singles even exist anymore? It IS a bit like Tiny Marvels. Interesting that the palette is intended to ‘help’ you up your game, or go beyond your comfort zone.

Lucia Avatar

I actually like the mattes in this so if I got it in the far future (because $120 is not something I’m willing to pay) it would actually be because I like every shade. However, the swatches I saw on YouTube were pretty underwhelming for Kinetic and Color Flip. Looking forward to see how your swatches turn out.

Jane Avatar

I have been looking so hard for a purple palette and though this lack exactly what I was looking for, it definitely is calling to me!!! But why $129??? I would have jumped on it for Christmas, but now, I have to think and wait for reviews.

DVa Avatar

I was concerned this palette was going to pull me back into buying eyeshadows but I’m not drawn to any but the trichromes.
I’ll wait and see if she releases minis in the future and perhaps reconsider.

Valerie Avatar

Ok now that I’ve picked up my jaw off the floor: I’m Picking this up tomorrow and still on the 20% VIB rouge sale. This is different, very very cool color scheme – someone really knows her color theory. And even if only half have the usual quality, it’s worth it for the constant inspiration I’ll get from this palette.
Utterly stunning.

Mags Avatar

I’ve been waiting for a ND palette to “speak to me” and this is it! All the colors I’m drawn to in one place. I think I’ll be picking this one up!

AJ Avatar

This is a really interesting color scheme, and I like it… but I feel like if you’re going to call your palette Triochrome, it should have more than 3 multi-chrome shadows in it. That said, if ND decided to release just the top row as a mini palette, I would be ALL OVER it.

Boo Avatar

Petty detail alert! I can’t believe they misspelled a shade name in their official swatches! It’s “Scrap” in the palette, but “Scarp” in the labelled swatches. From such a high end brand, I’m surprised.

Sakura Avatar

Ive gotten addicted to Triochrome eyeshadows, and think this palette looks cool and I love to mix warm and cool eyeshadow colors, but I won’t buy it before Temptalias best of the best opinions is here.
