DITTO! I feel exactly the same. I had wanted her “blackest of black” and didn’t want too pay the price for the single, but do I need another black? Nah! T really wanted one of her multi chromes, so “vision” looks like it would fit the bill and I don’t have a duochrome in that range. And like Maggie said, it look like a it would make a very nice travel (compact) palette, so…reviews, dupes and funds will say whether I buy this one.

So when it says “Natasha’s favorite eyeshadows” does that mean all these are found in other palettes? I can’t find anything that clearly confirms or denies that, and the lips are just re-promotes so I can’t tell if the palette is too.

In yesterday’s post she wrote that 2 shades are existing and the other 13 are new. I haven’t picked up her palettes in a while, but I’m assuming the black shade is preexisting, not sure what the other one would be. The multichrome, maybe?

Before I even allow myself to like this palette, I’m going to need to see REAL swatches, preferably live ones. That one multichrome has been done to DEATH and back, it’s the same pink/green/golden copper that I have in PML’s Divine Rose II Mothership. The rest of it has me thinking Glam and Retro Midi’s had a baby with a touch of a few richer shades.
And then there’s the ELEPHANT in the room: how is it that this rather light pinky shade appears to be a different shade entirely on the model with the richer skintone? I’m confused!

To me the picture of the palette looks different than the swatches. More brown shades than I thought. I’m not sure about it now. Somehow it doesn’t look s cool as I thought it was going to be

It had to do with a tutorial for winged eyeliner tutorial she created on June 11, 2022. I believe she eventually submitted an apology letter about a week later, which seemed insincere to many people. I don’t know if the video is still up on YT but you can google the issue and it should come up with the details.

Jane Avatar

Thanks for sharing, because I missed it too! I looked it up, and it’s up for grabs on the sincerity or not of her letter, which I read and felt was sincere. I cannot act like, over the years, especially in a comic venue, I haven’t laughed at or thought about various ethnicities in stereotypical ways, including my ethnicities. I hope people don’t treat people and do harmful things based solely on what they’ve learned or believe about a group, especially once they learn that it’s not loving, productive, or inaccurate.

Jane Avatar

I just looked at this again and I suspect I’d have the same issue as usual with her palettes after the original series (i.e. after Star), the color on the skin seems darker than the color you see in the palette, so your swatches will really help to confirm this.

The blush trio really intrigues me, although her last cheek duo and Bloom blush were duds for me!! And I love a few of the mattes in the new eye palette, but the duo chrome/multichrome and eggplant colors are turning me off. I think I need to collect ND products already owned in a large pile (some barely used) to help solidify my decision.

I am so intrigued! I adore Natasha Denona’s products, and I can’t wait for your review, Christine. My absolute favourite palette to date is the Glam Face palette (light) because I find it extremely flattering on my fair Irish complexion. I struggle with some of the more intense colours, for example, the shades in the OG Sunset palette, but I love that there is something for everyone in her line and feel her brand is very inclusive. I would love if she came out with other variations of that gorgeous Tan palette she made a couple of years ago (light, medium, deep etc.); to me that would be perfection!

Christina Avatar

Natasha Denona’s palettes rarely work for me. I’m super fair, and her colour stories are always so dark and dramatic on me. Everything ends up being sort of smoky and glam on me, expect for maybe her pastel palette and mini retro. I noticed that she usually features more tan complexions, and the colours look great on them.

Jane Avatar

I’m not fair, really like her palettes, but agree with your evaluation. It isn’t even about being fair or not, I think, as I often feel like she’s missing one or two light colors in every palette (in case you want to tone things down and be a bit more natural) and that her palettes are best for dramatic looks. The Mini Retro and Glam (the latter I tweaked a bit by moving a couple out of it and adding two from elsewhere) are the only ones that somewhat work for me if I want to do more subtle looks with only her palettes. And still, as I mentioned before, there seems to be something with her matte formulas where they are always darker on me than the color you see in the pan. So I end up a little disappointed that I can’t use just her palette and almost always have to pull some color from elsewhere. STILL, I like her eye shadows, colors and most textures but I always know I have to use another palette to go lighter.
