Natasha Denona Macro Blade Liquid Liner Review & Swatches
Black
Natasha Denona Black Macro Blade Liquid Liner ($26.00 for 0.02 oz.) is a deep black with neutral-to-cool undertones and a satiny sheen. The formula is supposed to be “long wearing” with “jet-black color payoff” that will not “smudge, budge, or fade over time.” It definitely did not dry down to a fully matte/flat matte finish, though it wasn’t visibly shimmery–just moderately shiny.
It had opaque color coverage readily, and the color continued to deposit evenly and with full coverage as I drew lines and swirls far longer than what one would need in practice (as eyeliner). It was easy to maneuver with along the curvature of the lid as the tip was flexible without being floppy, which also ensured it was comfortable to work with.
The “con” was that it was almost too fluid and smooth, so it was necessary to use a quicker stroke to avoid too much product in the initial place. The formula dried down fast enough not to migrate, and it was very long-wearing–definitely transfer-proof, smudge-proof, and seemingly waterproof. It was still going strong after 16 hours of wear.

My favorite eyeliner pen is a drug store brand by “Doll Face Beauty “
Their fine liner is epic. Dries matte , leaves a clean fine line , and stays on .
I’ve been using the same pen for 6 weeks .
Thanks! Always good to have a less expensive alternative when you can find it. I doubt I may in Europe, but I’ll keep my eyes out for the brand.
I may give this one a try, as buying the KVD one even though she’s no longer attached to it still gives me an icky feeling. Thing is, my eyes water, and have a strange ability to eat through almost anything. Hopefully, this will hold up just like Trooper.
I got a sample from Sephora and it’s not waterproof. It smudged off much more than some of the other liquid liners I’ve used. Just an FYI.
Try Em Cosmetics. I really like their liners. They have brush tip like the KVD.
I’ve been using the Tom Ford eyeliner pen for many years. I’ve tried so many black eyeliners and it’s the best, plus it lasts a long time with heavy use.
But I’m quite tempted by this release.
How do you think it compares, Christine?
I think Tom Ford is still better overall, though I don’t know if it’s at 2x!
Yeah it is pricey. Thanks!
