NARS Tech Fashion Lipgloss Set
NARS Tech Fashion Lipgloss Set ($49.00 for 0.48 fl. oz.) includes four lipglosses from peach to red. They’re all pretty sheer shades, so it’s possible that you have similar products in your stash already. Each gloss contains about half the amount of a full-sized gloss. They’re lightly tacky, wear two to four hours, and are a little hydrating. I didn’t notice any scent or taste while wearing them. The sheerer shades were shorter-wearing, while the more pigmented ones seemed to last a little longer. Two shades described as “sheer” were more pigmented than that, while one shade not described as sheer was sheer, so the ratings were impacted by this.
Shade I is described as a “shimmering peach sorbet.” It’s a muted, medium peach with orange undertones and gold sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage with a noticeable amount of sparkle and glossy shine. It lasted for two and a half hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Shade II is described as a “shimmering sheer fig.” It’s a medium-dark, warm-toned brown with pink and white shimmer. It had sheer color coverage that seemed to darken my natural lip color and add sparkle/shine. It lasted for two and a half hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Shade II is described as a “shimmering sheer raspberry.” It’s a muted, medium-dark berry pink with cool undertones and white sparkle. It had semi-sheer color payoff on the lips, and there was only a little bit of sparkle visible–it didn’t seem like a shimmery gloss on. It didn’t settle into lip lines much, and it applied fairly evenly. The color lasted for three and a half hours on me. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Shade IV is described as a “sheer ruby.” It’s a muted, medium-dark red with subtle, warm undertones and a very fine pink-red shimmer. It’s more semi-opaque than sheer and once on, actually has more of a faded, muted quality to it than when swatched. It looks almost pink-red applied to me. It lasted for four hours on me. IV is probably the only one I’d wear. The shimmer is subtle enough.

When I first saw the ratings I was disappointed, but if I’m reading it correctly, it’s more an issue with the descriptions not quite matching the actual product? Because I think the swatches look great! I don’t use a lot of lipgloss, so to have 4 minis seems like the way to go for me! I’m not crazy about Shade II, but the other 3 are all beautiful.
Yes, the pigmentation wasn’t as described on some, and then two were shorter-wearing (two and a half hours). 🙂
I actually like this set. I will certainly take a closer look at it, but it goes directly to the wish list. Really nice glosses for the days a more opaque lip colour feels wrong.

Was wondering is the shimmer like a Chanel Glossimer like very shiny and glittery or less so? I love all the colors except the bronzey one and I love the shimmer but was wondering how intense it is? (The shimmer that is)
Bigger than the shimmer in Glossimers — not quite glitter but not shimmer.
Oh, I actually really like the shade selection in this set! Not sure if the quality is worth the price tag though.
Aside from shorter wear time on the lighter shades, a lot of points were lost for just inconsistencies in described pigment level vs. actual level.
The price seems a little steep…and the colours aren’t that impressive. :/

I havent been too impressed with Nars’ holiday sets so far but I really like this one. I guess I do prefer my glosses on the sheerer side since I mainly use them on top of lipstick.

The last shade looks really nice, but the others look kind of sheer and patchy. Too bad, because they all look gorgeous in the tube.

I’m not too crazy excited about these NARS formula, but shades #1 and 4 look decent enough in terms of colour payoff! Though they look very easily dupe-able!
I like the look of Shades I and IV! 🙂 The set isn’t exactly tearing my bodice, as it were, though…
I wish I could just get Shade IV!
