NARS Summer Unrated Collection Swatches

NARS Summer Unrated Collection is a new, limited edition spring/summer collection (presumably more summer-ish given the name, but it is still a lil’ early!) that includes an eyeshadow palette along with three blush/bronzer duos. The other two blush/bronzer duos included repeat shades, whereas the duo featured below includes a new bronzer shade, so I did purchase it to test. Here are swatches of the new collection!

What happened to the offbeat ‘alternative’ Nars with collections based on counterculture influences?! They used to be my favourite brand, minus the Orgasm dead horse flogging, but now it seems they release almost the exact warm pink toned palettes with vaguely sexual names again and again. Do they have a new creative director or something? What a snooze fest 😒

I happen to agree with everything Charlotte said above – there is absolutely nothing new here – in fact I liked their Summer Solstice palette from last year a lot better.
What is it with Nars and the Orgasm deal? It’s like he is obsessed with it…never ending. And I wish the brand would grow up and leave off the sexualised names – this is 2022.

Nars needs to move on from the whole “Orgasm/Laguna” thing. They keep doing it over and over again and I think even someone who likes those products (neither is for me) must be getting tired of them. I remember when I would get so excited over Nars’s new releases (some of their shadow duos like Kauai, Habanera, Rue Allent, as well as the Dual Intensity shadows) – these were products that really made me sit up and take notice! Nowadays, Nars just seems like a snore-fest.

Charlotte for spot on comment of the year. If the blush/ bronzer had been orgasm and laguna again, I’d gag. This collection is totally yawnsome. I’d prefer the shock value stuff, too. Like the Splendor in the Grass blush palette that everyone objected to. Great shades. In other words, I’d prefer dead to sexualized…says the true crime podcast Queen.

I bought the eyeshadow palette. It arrived yesterday.
I know there are alot of Nars haters, but…this palette is gorgeous in person. All of the colors are so wearable and beautiful. Pretty much a perfect all in one palette for me.

Other than probably the Orgasm & Summermoon eyeshadow, the rest look kind of uninteresting. I feel like they are repeating the colour collections over & over again, just 1 or 2 in any big palettes that seem to be kind of interesting (even that can find dupes) but the rest can pass. Very underwhelming. What happened to Nars creative / product dev persons?
